Yes

I have been reminded of that by every Frenchman i have ever met. And that America is a primitive country compared to the vast 2000 year old history of France.

i don’t give a hoop about what happened 300 years ago. The last 100 years the French have done nothing. There are a living and breathing museum of history. Slowly decaying with the rest of the Western Europe.

The history of "France" is only ~1500 years old anyway in a rough sense (less if you want to actually limit it to a unified French state and not just occupation by various Frankish-speaking peoples).

Now the history of the region known as Gaul is much longer with several defining periods stretching hundreds of years each (with the "France" period being the latest).

I kinda wish they would have just stuck with the military themed games, the way they were first organized.  Too many 'sports' these days.  Besides, I've always preferred the Winter Games.  Beakdancing would never be allowed in the Winter Games!

Yeah, I'm old, but I'm not as old as MGrowOld.  But stay off my lawn anyway!

I think pole dancing would be an appropriate addition. Most nations to which I have traveled have ample amateur and professional participants. America would field a strong team, but I wouldn't overlook the Eastern European contingent. And east Asia is right there, too...
