OK but my track record was correct with Grady and Green, as I criticized their tapes heavily.  I also praised runners like Thomas Rawls (under Hoke) and now Evans and Higdon who show flashes and deserve more carries.  Having played defense my entire career, I feel that I can evaluate offensive skill players effectively.

Harris is powerful, has good vision and balance.  I just dont see the quick twitch burst after that first cut through the hole that the really great backs have.

Hope its just the highlights and that I am wrong.   Im not saying he wont be a good college back, he will...I just prefer backs with more burst, who tend to be great.  He appears to be missing that extra gear.

Wow, your track record is 100%!! You should send a scouting report to Harbaugh and Saban, since they seem to have completely missed the lack of burst thing. They've seen him live but you were able to figure that out from watching some tape because you are that fucking good! Maybe Wheatley could bring you in as an analyst! At least tell me how I can subscribe to your newsletter!

Is the lead recruiting guy for Rivals. It's all opinion dude. He has his you have your and Magnus had his. I have inside info as i had last year, but most hear complain and neg or post I or others don't know shit. Maybe you should listen as some here may have some inside stuff but don't post because most here are fickle.

Example - I spent 7 days at the UA Game last year talking exclusively w many recruits and there parents and tried to post up hear what they said and people here act like little babies and say things like "your full of it" "that didn't happen" "no way a recruit said that" "Harbaugh wouldn't do that"

People there is so much stuff that goes on behind the scenes that all you here have no idea how bad it gets and how slimy recruiting is. I know cause I've been involved in it w my son in the past and my best friends son last year was a top 20 lineman and I helped out a lot w the process.

You're right to a small extent,  but I think you've presented a false choice of "Cook or bust."

He's lacking an elite burst in that tape, but I don't think I saw many footwork issues.

We'll see, I guess.

I don't want to start a new thread, so I'll just say this hear. Solomon just received 3 CB's to Bama on 247, which indicates to me that the Bama insiders know something. Also, Steve Wiftlong, who is usually right, apparently recently stated that he believes Oklahoma leads for Filiaga at the moment. That would be two huge misses at our two biggest positions of need, which obviously would really hurt. I'm not really sure if Tufele is a realistic option right now either; it seems like most people think we are running third for him.

You have some odd definitions of "misses."

One guy was committed to us, but it's not a miss to lose him.

Three other guys declared us their leader or didn't, but those would be misses.

Not that it really matters, but if we had Solomon in the fold and lost him, that's pretty much the definition of a "miss" in recruiting.

Solomon was a miss when we lost us. But he was heavy to UGA after that.

How often do kids recommit?

Michigan climbed back into it again, but we weren't the outright leader like most thought we were for Wilson, DPJ, Thomas, Singleton, etc.

Now it seems Bama has passed both of us.

But to me a miss is when you lead and everyone believes you lead. You have the CB's in your favor like we did for Wilson.

At THIS point in time, with Solomon decommitted. I don't consider it a "miss" if he doesn't commit to Michigan this time around. IMO, we were always playing from behind once he left.

I consider it differently.

I don't think you're wrong. I just think that's silly because we target a hundred kids a year. So we miss on the vast majority of them. Which again, makes sense.

I just add more "value" to the meaning in this case because I think you miss on players you led for and didn't get. Not just someone you target and didn't get.

I don't think there's a right or wrong answer as long as we understand each other.

You can target or offer 100 kids but they all aren't committable or high priority targets. A player of Solomon's caliber is clearly a target that is a want and priority. So I would classify him a miss as I'm sure much more effort went into his recruitment then a large number of other targets so to speak. I can see where you're coming from but just disagree.

That's your opinion.

I respect that and again, it makes perfect sense to me. I just don't agree with it because I consider misses someone you're leading for...

So using that definition, we already MISSED on him. But I don't think we're leading now to miss again.

I realize my opinion could be the minority on this one, but at the same time I don't think it's a big enough deal to argue over if we all understand what each other is saying even if we don't agree.

IMO losing Becton and Collins would be misses. Wilson was a huge miss. But that's just my opinion.

They were talking about bamas class during the broadcast of the UA game and said "they're closing in on being full, unless some things with the current roster suddenly change." It was something I heard and then went and thought that they might have room to take these top guys they want which could include three of the top guys on michigans board. It amazes me that they seem to have their pick of guys even when they have so much talent already they're. Plus they can over recruit and then push guys out without a second thought.

Alabama has everything a RB would look for. One thing I can think where UM may have an edge is maybe Harris doesn't fit their culture and feels more comfortable at UM and with it's recruits/players.

This of course is based on nothing and totally a wild ass guess.

I agree on Becton, but there are some obvious reasons for Collins. The negativity he would get for spurring his home state school, the ability to still take visits without controversy, etc.

I mean, I think "silent commitments" are dumb, but there are reasons.

I'm not down if they don't land Najee. There are other good runningbacks out there. Just steal one of Wisconsins committed players. The offensive line is way more important to me. Hoping they land or flip 2 to 3 highly ranked studs before signing day.

Edit: Yep, there he is. Johnathan Taylor is the #16 back according to RIvals and he's out of Jersey. Go get him Wheatley!

If there is still one more silent, I would bet it isn't Harris. I could see it being possibly Collins - maybe Becton, but I would be stunned if it were Harris
