My favorite part of the…

My favorite part of the whole thing is the people on social media who are bashing “journalists” for saying something they dont like. Someone actually called the job, the most highly sought sports job in michigan. Another was the comment “at least we dont have to go for our 4th or 5th option like you (michigan BBall) did with with Howard”

everyone over there is loosing their shit and falling apart and things are really going to be interesting this upcoming season for them!!

He is teammates with Julian…

He is teammates with Julian Fleming, the top wide receiver in the class. Although they dont play in the “biggest division” in Pa that is mostly because of weird PIAA rules. Southern Columbia is one of those schools that has a ton of good players every year and will usually have a bunch of seniors who go on to play local D2 football each and every year.

Once the severity is known…

Once the severity is known then there is time to panic but until that becomes known to the public then people shouldn’t be panicking in any sense.

This is the same school as…

This is the same school as Julian Fleming. He’s a top notch wrestler, and that program is a really good one that produces a lot of top notch athletes.

The most interesting part of…

The most interesting part of the whole thing is what Gattis said about having room for everyone to move around on the depth chart. It’s also interesting that Gattis post a picture of the wide receiver crew and Oliver was front and center so I would say that if all things stay how they are then he should be on the team for the up coming year

Reading about the space…

Reading about the space player vs OSU seems like a good plan if they can make it work because even with Urban “gone” OSU is still rolling in crazy amounts of talent on the recruiting trail. They showed us last year that speed unravels even the best game plans so having guys on the defense that can stop the speed or give michigan other options on how to attack their offense is something they are going to try and do. I know they dont just recruit to beat OSU but its something you can see being used in recruiting so it’s definitely on the coaching staffs mind

Don’t get your hopes up on…

Don’t get your hopes up on the Ngata thing, per Steve Lorenz

this is just one of those…

this is just one of those comments that make no sense. you are saying that he isn't that good due to the fact that he couldn't beat a double team, yet a lot of time he was asked to take up those guys so the linebackers behind him can fly around and make plays behind him.

The NFL likes guys who perform well at the combine because it is a sign of potential, you can teach technique and fundamentals. You can't teach, height, strength, speed, agility. those are things that eventually tap out and no matter how good you are at those things you still have to be able to use them. if you have them you're already a step ahead of someone who is a little slower, stiffer or weaker. that is what they look for, if all they have to do is teach you technique then you're way ahead of someone else who doesn't have those natural abilities

2 years at Niagara then 2-3…

2 years at Niagara then 2-3 at a mid major with high success at both stops and hes on the radar. I have wondered though if he takes a longer time to get here would they hire him as an assistant to be the coach in waiting for when his dad does retire. Seems like if yaklich were to leave in the meantime it wouldn’t be out of the question to bring Patrick on as an assistant and let him get time at a high major college that way. It’s something that could be considered...

The thing that interests me…

The thing that interests me about this comment is if it does happen how does that effect the substitutions and guys that roll in and out. Also, Harbaugh has been known to have a deep and complex offensive playbook that wasn’t always conducive to young guys finding their way to the field, does the trend of simplification keep going and now guys can see the field earlier than before which puts more weapons in Gattis’ hands.

Should be interesting to see how this progresses throughout the season...and the meltdown that happens when/if they struggle in a game and they go to a huddle. Should be fun to watch though, thats for sure.

Can you imagine the…

Can you imagine the confussion for fans when this happens during the game...boy peoples heads are going to blow-up

I wonder how much of this is…

I wonder how much of this is the school not wanting to recruit the kid as hard, he has been saying things that can be seen as off-putting to some coaches. Things seem to go back and forth with him after each visit, he has said he wants to be a freshmen starter and it seems like some schools are selling that more than others. Maybe its just a little bit of multiple things that have yet to get michigan back into his “top” group

It’s like Grayson Allen has…

It’s like Grayson Allen has been reincarnated and now plays for wisconsin

From the sounds of it, or…

From the sounds of it, or the wording of some of the tweets, this comes off as like a plagiarism/cheating kind of infraction. While serious it could be something that he made a mistake on, admitted his mistake, did something about it and got back on track. If he has not been kicked out of school and is in fact back in classes it seems like something of a student code of conduct violation and not something more legally serious.

Trying to understand why…

Trying to understand why they NCAA does what it does is never going to make senes. One thing for sure is the bigger the school, the lower the probability is that they are going to have something happen to them. Doesnt matter the size of the infraction they aren’t going to take money out of their own pockets by banning a school that makes them a lot of money.

I mean I will take your…

I mean I will take your rankings for what they are worth as you seem to have insight into being able to scout guys and rank them accordingly but Haliburton has a high score of 16 on the year (against Omaha) and isn't even listed on most big boards.

Title of the article is…

Title of the article is misleading. 15% of the 20 players that were tested came back positive. that is 3/20, that we knew about, were positive for a banned substance.

And just like that a guy…

And just like that a guy with multiple crystal balls for Bama starts to get CBs to the other sec powerhouse...Tennessee

Are you considering roseboro…

Are you considering roseboro a DT? because he was an end at NC State and had a decent career there if you consider in 4 years he had like 120 tackles.

Allen Trieu over on the 247…

Allen Trieu over on the 247 page is saying that this may have been a jumping of the gun on the saying it was an offer because Sam is hearing it is an offer contingent on him being able to do a couple of things including changing his body a bit.

Apparently he has some bad weight on his frame and that is something that needs to change before he can be considered ansything more than a project

Right there were some big…

Right there were some big time guys thinking this was factual and are now backtracking their way out of it. If they can be had by something like that then imagine a michigan fan who just sees this and goes “oh shit the mgoblog community is going to love this” and posts it before everyone else realizes what happened and bam you have shitty people on a message board giving the OP grief for not being the most thourough person researching a story ever in the history of the world

Jonah Williams is 6’5 and…

Jonah Williams is 6’5 and 300 pounds, cam robinson 6’6” 320 pounds, Andrew Thomas also 6’5” and 320 pounds, Isaiah Wilson 6’7” 340 pounds, Alex leatherwood 6’6” 305 pounds.

Wynn started more games than normally expected for a 6’2 guy at the tackle position so he might be the best comparison you have in the whole “exception” post you have going on there.

Also Alex leatherwood is now playing guard for Bama and could slide back out to tackle filling in that open spot you’re talking about.

He is not the only kid on…

He is not the only kid on that team who is of African descent and if this were the case that he felt unsafe due to racial prejudice at the school then you would have to think that there would be at least one other guy from the team trying to do the same thing.

If there are a lot of things happening behind closed doors with a football coach then this becomes a whole different story, but till something like that is the proven case then i believe the NCAA walks a fine line with this one. If they grant him a waiver for perceived threats based on racial profile it gives a huge chance to other guys from schools all over the country to do the same. If they dont then they are “racists” and “bigots” white guys who get to be called slave owners by professional athletes.

Anyway i cannot wait to see how this one plays out.

Couch is saying its just…

Couch is saying its just giving his guys already on staff new jobs and putting guys in positions that they had previously coached at other stops along their coaching careers. Wouldn’t seem like something you need to call a press conference for...but it is Mark Dantonio, and not many people know what goes on in that mind of his.

This is the opposite of what…

This is the opposite of what scouts were saying the past two years before the draft, when Alabama guys were sliding in their projected rounds. The rumors were that Alabama guys come out with lots of injuries and are beat up a lot from their time there and that scares teams off

Yeah they pulled him from a…

Yeah they pulled him from a D2 school in Pa. they went for a big turn under his offense and became more of a spread style attack.

It always amazes me that michigan is going after the guys who have the background they do but then they get here and it reverts to the one yard and a cloud of dust that has gone on for the past few years.

This is something that they have to change but there are so many shiny toys out there that could be had to give a shot at changing the things that frustrate the fans here but that unfortunately isnt going to change any time soon it appears

http://www.espn.com/espn/now…

http://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=21-41051575-4

according to ESPN he is going to the other OSU, the one that has more of an impact on the michigan fan base. This is big because his offense has been good as ok state but he is under Gundy who is an offensive minded guy. He was plucked from a small school and pulled to a big time school and is now one of the up and coming guys on the offensive side of the ball.

This is not good for us at michigan because there are guys out there like this who can turn the offense on a new path that doesnt revert back to the deer in headlights run up the middle that has plagued the michigan offense for the past coupe of years under Harbaugh.

I didn't see nothing that…

I didn't see nothing that exciting watching his highlight tape. Seems like a fine payer who is slightly more athletic than the other guys he’s playing with and against. I mean doesn’t have great ups when you’re winning 80-24 it’s pretty easy to make nice passes

I always thought the school…

I always thought the school that would get punished would be Kentucky get the football team in the collateral of the basketball teams punishment. I didnt think it would come tot point where they have to go after one of the middle of the pack teams who cant do much in the conference.

Offense that has struggled…

Offense that has struggled to find it identity and a defense that gets torched week in and week out. Two way star pics the school that could pitch him as being “the guy” on both sides.

Seems weird that a lot of so called criteria weren’t really met by the school he picked and they seemed to come on out of nowhere at the end.

but i am glad we wont have to watch him be a key piece on a playoff team for the next couple of years at Clemson if he didnt pick Michigan.

One of the docs i worked for…

One of the docs i worked for told me this is a motto they use throughout the school. He told me it was something that they use to motivate people to persevere in life and get what they want. They use it as a tool to say “even if you don’t succeed at first doesn’t mean you have to give up” kinda thing...which i thought was interesting

It wasn’t like DTR was on…

It wasn’t like DTR was on the bench he was a starting wide receiver for the team who had an impressive year or two there before becoming the starting Quarterback

I am going to guess that…

I am going to guess that this was an accident alas they were just releasing some of the artwork that they had done for the players. Seems like probably an oversight on which images were being selected from the group of many that are done throughout the year

This is a big thing for…

This is a big thing for Harbaughs QBs too since it was something that we heard was a large knock on Peters. There was stuff out there that he wasn’t even able to command the huddle, and that is something that all the talent in the world unfortunately cant overcome.

There was something out…

There was something out there early on the in the process where Purdue was going to give him a shot to play both football and basketball and that was the reason for him being such a hard lean to them over other schools. I remember there being this thing where he wouldn’t even consider a school if they weren’t going to give him that shot to play both so that might be something that is holding him back seeing if there is a spot or team where he can go do that

Then i hope he doesnt make…

Then i hope he doesnt make it to the NFL, where they play in places like Green Bay, Chicago, New England, Seattle, Denver, minnesota, Detroit and more where it gets cold during part if not most of the season. I mean it’s one thing to be like “but they play in a dome” but its another to have to live in those areas where you walk outside and you immediately regret the choices you’ve made and have to do something at light speed so you can go back inside to warm back up.

Left that spot open for…

Left that spot open for crouch to come in a be another guy in the backfield but there is a lot of depth at the LB position and that could be something that he would rather avoid. There is something to the whole Tennessee thing, he could have the keys to the car essentially where as he would be one of many guys at the spot for michigan

You would have to think that…

You would have to think that he is going to take some time to get used to the speed of the big ten and also that he is going to have to do some unique things to change to add to his body mass to get himself on the field due to his older age when he got to michigan in the first place.

This is something else right…

This is something else right here, the past couple years michigan has struggled to close out the recruiting cycle. They seem to be coming in second for a lot of these top end guys that they are right there for all season long and then just seems to fizzle out at the end.

I mean y seemed to be all but coming to michigan before the OSU game, Crouch seemed to alsway be between Clemson and Michigan and now that seems to be gone, there was the whole karlaftis thing but they couldn’t lure him away from Brohm...etc etc.

there just seems to be something that the coaching staff struggles to do is close out with the players that they have been in on all throughout the process, some of whom have3 been on the radar for years.

One of the things that’s…

One of the things that’s always kinda bugged me about Harbaugh is that he doesn’t do an injury report. He doesn’t even have to be specific and could make it like hockey where “upper/lower body” is as in depth as it gets.

The reason I bring this up is that someone random on twitter asked if it could be that the guys that transferred we’re injured at some point and then either passed up or never given another shot to be out there because of the injury or if they were “injured” as a form of punishment for something

I get that the line gets old…

I get that the line gets old about the cash but there is just too much going on to think that a school that is a perpetual low to middle of the pack finisher in the “toughest conference in college football”. Yet at michigan a 10-2 season where they were a college football playoff team up until a loss to a rival who is just as good. Yet one loss to a rival unravels all the recruits interest and somehow pushes even more guys into the arms of the teams that cant beat Alabama, Georgia, Missouri, Kentucky, LSU, or Vanderbilt on a consistent basis.

Yeah but its warm there so…

Yeah but its warm there so who cares. Winning is only so important when its michigan fans talking about michigan recruits. There are other things that matter to recruits but when they choose other schools over michigan its the (weather, girls, facilities, location, conference) excuse.

This always kills me when…

This always kills me when the offseason rolls around and people are all “just win and things get better”. Yeah winning helps but it doesnt help when you cant hide things. Harbs is ripped in the media at every turn, that doesn’t help. Yes it gets cold in michigan, but its also cold in state college, Columbus, and south bend. Those schools still recruit well, especially against michigan. Those schools still get guys from Texas, Florida, California, and the rest of the SEC area. It really shouldn’t be an excuse because these guys still go to schools in the same part of the country.

by this logic then bama…

by this logic then bama should be worried as well because he is still saying he is going to be signing in February with his friends like he had planned to all along.

Saban arrived in East…

Saban arrived in East Lansing, Michigan prior to the 1995 season. Michigan State had not had a winning season since 1990, and the team was sanctioned by the NCAA for recruiting violations that were committed under his predecessor and former mentor, George Perles.

saban has been groomed to be a cheater his whole career basically. He doesnt stay anywhere long either. if things dont change youre going to watch the same 3/4 teams play for the playoffs every year and there is nothing fans can do about it unless you can get a giant boycott going and hit the ncaa where it hurts...their pockets

If you take the answer from…

If you take the answer from John U Bacon, then its probably because “they aren’t happy unless they are unhappy” meaning no matter how good things are going there is still going to be a group in the fan base who is going to the complain come hell or high water about something, no matter how small of a thing it is they are bitching about

Article on 247 says he was…

Article on 247 says he was all but ticketed to OSU for a while and then they kinda fell of with the things they have had going on there over the last couple of months followed by the change in coach that you might have heard about. This might just be michigan throwing their name in the ring now, and seeing how things play out with the rest of the class and numbers and having someone to take if a few of the other targets don’t come to michigan.

This is a big board, where…

This is a big board, where they rank the players in order. Most people know that it is no way directly related to where they get drafted. if a player is in the 50s that means end of the second round projection and poole would be smart to come back if that is truly the grade he earns at the end of the season because at the end of the second round youre either a pick and spend years in the G League or youre undrafted and you really have to play well to make a team (see Duncan Robinson).

but what would you do with…

but what would you do with the imbalance or schools like Michigan who can PAY players really well vs the schools like UAB would could barley afford to keep their team afloat. how does that make things equal?

what about the paying players before they come to school? recruits get paid, parents/family gets paid, the players get the cars and gifts and things like that just to consider the school then they go somewhere else, then you have a kid who wants to transfer but he gets 100 dollars a day at school A but at school B he would only get 50 dollars a day. Does playing time overcome this, how about being closer to his family when his money goes back home to his family to begin with, how about the guys that have kids...do they get more?

yeah George Johnson III…

yeah George Johnson III committed last night, you missed it...sorry we didnt wake you
