No sun shine blowers today. They love to pound their chests when we barley beat the shitty teams. This team is just so unappealing to watch.

Not surprised our horrendous three point shooting finally bit us in the ass. And way to much switching on ball screens, the sequence with Johns was particularly painful to watch.

Very disappointed with our recruiting class . Got no better as year went on . We had 6 pt lead and poole turnover and 2 straight bad shot ,and a teske missed layup changed the momentum

Stupid fouls and going ice cold from the last 13 mins onward. This was a team loss, not a Jordan Poole loss. No one could get a basket. Winston was the best player on the floor by several miles. You could tell he was motivated after getting blanked by Michigan last year.

Have a really hard time seeing us win in EL in two weeks. And then if Ward is back in the lineup, our chances are even lower.

Tough shots went down for MSU, and didn’t for Michigan today. Otherwise a pretty evenly played game. However we all expected UM to play better than sparty today, not play even. So that’s disappointing. MSU seemed quite comfortable in their approach, while UM never seemed to get much rhythm. I wonder how much the extra day of prep helped MSU. Also Matthews seemed fine, but didn’t seem to be as aggressive after the ankle turn. Hope it’s a minor thing.

The no go to player is what is going to end up being the demise of this team.  You need a guy to step up and make a shot when you desperately need it.  Mo Wagner was that guy last year.  MAAR could take it to the rim and get a bucket.  There is no one on this team that can do either.  Poole and Matthews want to be, but aren’t.

I wish I could figure out what JB’s vision off this team on offense is.  Our primary action is a 1-5 ball screen with either a pop for three or a dive to the hoop.  I get that.  But when that doesn’t work, I am sure he has secondary and even tertiary action that he drills—he’s a legitimately brilliant offense coach.  But I have no clue what those actions are, because the offense collapses into one-one takes by guys like Matthews and Poole, which is inefficient as shit.

The telling sign for me was when we got into the 1and 1 with like 13 minutes left in the game and didnt take advantage.  We started jacking up threes.  We really could have broken their back by continuing to draw fouls, shoot free throws and win the game of attrition.

We had nobody in foul trouble, and the home court advantage.  All we had to do was drive at them.  We didnt.  We chose to take contested jumpers and missed nearly all of them.  We deserved to lose.

It still surprises me that our basketball and football teams can never figure out a game plan that would surprise our biggest Rivals. Same old vanilla play without anything they haven't already seen. Why we can't get into the paint with a 7-foot center is beyond me.

I've been saying similar comments for years. Coach B just doesn't seem to care much for low post offensive plays. Our players aren't really taught to throw the ball to our center for low post plays.

Our center could have a 6 foot point guard checking him and our guys will still sometimes not throw the ball into the paint and it's been that way for years.

It's just not really a part of Coach B's offense. We're trying to develop Teske's 3 point shooting instead of his low post game because that's how Coach B runs his offense.

Though low post scoring is needed this season because we don't have great outside shooting.

Considering what they were missing and it was at home this was a tough pill to swallow. That was a war of attrition and I feel like we were spent at the end. IF MSU gets Ward back for the rematch they could run Teske out of gas easily.

Sometimes youth - freshmen, sophomores and their playing experience can be a plus. Today, it was not. As much as I absolutely despise and hate Izzo, Dantonio & anything MSU, they came with a better plan and played excellent defense which is supposed to be our forte’. Disappointing to say the least. Especially when you think about the way Z played one on one against Winston the past couple of meetings.
