MGoBlog Service Disruption

...makes me the opposite of happy. The opposite of happy is sad. I am sad.

It sounds like there was a DMCA bot trolling the site for copywrite violations, and found somebody's avatar which was presumably a tiny version of a copywrite protected picture.  Since those bots operate with a "shoot first, find out if you had a legal leg to shoot from later" policy, it sent up the alarm.  I'm not clear on what happened next, but it was bad enough to take the site down until Brian woke up and sorted shit out.

I love Mgoblog, but you have to know it's limitations. I never ever go into gameday threads, rarely into snowflake threads. Big news days can cause meltdowns in the server and the traffic. I'm hoping this things eventually are fixed. But until that time, I will live with the blog as it is, and not expect too much from it.

I actually went to beveled last week. The truth is, I've gotten more than my money's worth out of the site. Problem is, nothing changes. Shoot, they don't even make promises anymore. Frankly, with the season going so well, I don't care. But I do hope that after the season, there are answers, and there are promises, and there are fixes.

Interruption of a service I don't have to pay for, leading me to increase my productivity at work. This is not acceptable. I will take my MGoDollars elsewhere if these shenanigans continue.

I just hate seeing Kathy Ireland besmirched like this.  Some of those SI bikini shots helped get me thru puberty.

/this was in the day of 56k modems where you had to wait 3 minutes for a photo to show up.  And it could be a terrible picture but you had to wait to find out...slowly.

/adolescent boys these days have no idea how good they have it.

I will say that the rash of disruptions lately has put me in a position where I am attentive in all these meetings and trainings and I am not sure that this is how it is supposed to work. MGoBlog is supposed to be the salvation in those situations and there have been times - including this morning - where I have participated in work-related activities and been productive. It puts me in a weird place.
