Mark Dantonio Violates New NCAA Rule Prohibiting Sub-Tweeting of Recruits
Michigan State just received a commitment from IMG TE Jack Camper. Following that commitment, Dantonio sent out the following tweet:
Congrats on Ascending from the Sunshine State to the Spartans. Will set up Camp permanently in EL next Jan. 2017. #V4MSU!
— Mark Dantonio (@DantonioMark) March 22, 2016
As noted by Baumgardner, this is likely a violation of the new NCAA rule against subtweeting recruits. I personally think that State should be given the death penalty for this egregious violation of a very serious, not stupid at all rule.

This is why Harbaugh stresses the importance of knowing the rule book backwards and forwards. You need to know how to gain an advantage within the rules, not by breaking the rules.

Such a stupid fucking rule.
I hate Mork as much as the next guy but I hate the NCAA so much more.

he prefers to go by Mike

I don't think anyone thinks it's a good rule. It's just funny to see MSU, whose fans accuse Michigan of cheating, to be the ones breaking said rule.

let Drew Sharp know, maybe the Freep can launch a full investigation.

That Camper did not have a Michigan offer. Or much of an offer sheet at all.
March 22nd, 2016 at 11:11 AM ^
He had an offer from Nebraska, which beat Michigan State last year.
That's pretty impressive.
I wonder if Middle Tennesse State also offered him recently just for fun?

Still impressive that MSU beat out noted southern power Florida Atlantic for a Florida recruit

I wonder of urban is eating the digiorno....

is that the section on subtweeting is right next to the rules on PED's. He hasn't had a chance to peruse either of those articles

wouldn't be a tweet. If Harbaugh responds he would go big. Like, we would have our spring game in Spartan Stadium big.

I was not aware that former NBA coaches tweeting college football recruits was a violation.

I hate it when people say "congratulations on." It's "congratulations for" or "contratulations to."

Or why they call it a "pair" of panties but bra is refered to as singular?!
I didn't realize when you use "to" after "congratulations," you must change the "g" to another "t". Contratulations to you for pointing this out!

It really is a stupid rule just for the inability to effectively police Twitter alone, at least on the level required by the NCAA apparently. Besides, there are more pressing issues in the world, such as the marginalization of soccer in some communities -

The first three words of that sign are the only ones needed. That sign should be all over the world.

My guess is that our friend, ostensibly from down under, is more of an Australian Rules football or rugby person, and it is interesting that at least the media in Australia has been accused in the past of having a somewhat negative perception of the sport. It may just be the small sample of Australians that I've met in my life, but not once in a discussion of sports did soccer get bashed, but obviously there are always folks that simply don't care for a given activity.
