Okay, really? I used an alternate nickname for Woodson that wasn't on some unseen pre-approved list. It's a stretch to liken that to having some uninformative title as outlined in the rules. If you want to delete the thread that's one thing, but there's no need to put down a poster who has contributed and read the board daily for five years without causing any dust ups for you or any other mod. Don't be petty.

is still in the NFL and is recently kicking ass, this is all the more important. He understands what the younger players in the locker room like, and that will translate to the high schoolers and middle schoolers of today.

I am so excited to see the Jumpman gear. I will definitely be purchasing some when the new stuff arrives.

Personally, I love the direction the jerseys have gone this year TREMENDOUSLY.

  • We have maize, not highlighter yellow.
  • We have classic road whites, with nice stripes down the sides and on the arms.
  • We have classic home maize and blue, without endless patches.
  • We have a return to the helmet stickers, which are a nice way to praise the team publicly for reaching goals.

Jumpman is fine, Nike is fine. But I really hope there isn't much of a change in the appearance next year from how the uniforms look right now.

Still not wild about the helmet stickers, because by the end of the season they're really going to ruin the wings.  Right when you want the classic look the most.

The actual maize is a huge, huge, HUGE improvement.  And I don't dislike the white-pants look as much as I thought.  It looks pretty sharp and even before the season I was willing to call it an overall improvement because no more stupid piping.

Now they just need to match the block M on the field to the maize of the jerseys.  They haven't done that and you can easily tell.

Still think a basketball logo is gonna look weird on football jerseys, and the Jumpman is kind of a busy, splayed-out logo vs. a nice streamlined swoosh, but I doubt it'll be all that noticeable.

That's the same reason I'm not a huge fan of the helmet stickers... they interfere with the wings. But I can get over it. The road whites I loved the first time, but kind of lost luster with me the second time around.. wouldn't mind going back to maize or even trying blue pants with maize stripes to keep us from looking too penn state.

The "maize" this year is like everybody else's--WV, Cal, LSU, Iowa, Delaware, Toledo--you name it.  OK, fine--no highlighter yellow.  But true yellow, not school bus, mustard, or anything that dark.  I don't care if I'm never allowed to post on this blog again, but I'm certain we're shooting ourselves in the fashion foot, at least with kids, by dulling down that eye-popping yellow that used to show off our blue to such great advantage.   Whatever shade M teams wear, it should be as unique as our tradition and our university.  I will never, ever buy any gear with the current shade of yellow on it--I'll make my own instead.  What unmitigated rubbish!

Honestly wouldn't be surprised if he's closer to age 50 than 40 come retirement; Sir Charles is undoubtedly a human of genetic superiority.

And as fortune would have it, he's got a couple young sons. Hopefully they inherited the awesome and in a decade are playing at Michigan for Coach Jim Harbaugh.
