Indiana pre-game: injuries etc.

Submitted by dnak438 on

Per Twitter, no Maurice Hurst, Willie Henry, Jabrill Peppers, Jake Butt, Dymonte Thomas. I'll update as things become more clear. This is a little worrying:

No Jake Butt on the dress list this week. Suspended "for a violation of team expectations"

The safety situation:

Jarrod Wilson and Delano Hill running at safety with the first team in skeleton drills.

UPDATE: Jehu is back and will be starting:

Jehu Chesson announced on the big board as the starter across from Devin Funchess today.

Fuck...and it begins.

Not even a violation of team rules?  Expectations?

If players are sitting out for failure to meet expectations...couldn't that leave us a bit shorthanded?

One of my biggest frustrations is our underutilization of Jake.  The TE should be a weapon we use consistently use especially with our protection problems.  I've worried about Chris Clark watching our offense and thinking "Nah, I'll pass."  I just hope we can hold this team together for the rest of the year.

WTF Butt?

No Henry or Hurst hurts our D a lot, both do a good job at keeping blockers off from our LBs to allow them to make plays.  Saw Henry get carted off last week did not look good.

We can't buy a break, IU's LBs are bad and Butt could have had a big day.Thought Thomas made some plays last week too.  We will still beat IU, but these injuries do not help.  IU has no secondary, Fuchess for 140 yards and 2 TDs.  Only thing that worries me is that IU does have good DTs and a decent D line.

Well High HOLY FUCK, the entire team and coaches should have been suspended after the ND, Utah, Minny, and Rutgers games.  Following the MSU game Hoke should have been fired for violating expectations.

Too late, Hoke, and the wrong player as well.  You should have been suspending players years ago.  Take Funchess, for example, he should have been suspended the first time he decided he wasn't going to block.  Instead, you moved him to WR.  What do you think that said...hmmm?

I would love to know exactly what a "violation of team expectations" is as well. Like so many things about this staff, I find myself struggling to figure out exactly how to translate the vagueness. I realize that we're not owed an explanation, but there are times when even a high-level summary would be appreciated.
