This doesn't pass the sanity test. He'd have to compete and win the job over McCaffery anyway. Waiting his turn is no guarantee. Besides, Harbaugh said his issue with Peters on the podcast. Peters doesn't seem urgent enough in the pocket. Plays too comfortable, not with his hair on fire.

I should be clear, I want Peters to play more than anybody. Check the "What you want to see on offense" thread from yesterday. I'm just reporting what I heard Jim Harbaugh himself say about Peters on his own podcast in an attempt to dispute what I think is likely a false rumor.

Peters might get some snaps this year. McCaffery will not, barring a total injury meltdown of O'Korn and Peters, or some crazy other off-field issues in the QB room

Open competition between all QBs next year. Maybe Peters wins, maybe Speight recovers and does, maybe McCaffery really impresses. Who knows. Pointless to speculate on right now

Probably as much as Tarik Black or DPJ. They play because they are physically more talented. JH will put the most talented guy on the field at almost all positions but QB where he seems to favor age and/or experience.
