Huge loss for Sparty D-line: Evans and Sweat leave school.

Submitted by Double-D on
This is going to hurt Sparty significantly. Evans was a beast in the middle and had All Big Ten potential this year. Sweat had serious upside. They might need Freshman to play on the DL this year after everyone they lost to graduation and their lack of depth. It makes you wonder what they did because Dantonio knows this is going to be costly. http://www.mlive.com/spartans/index.ssf/2016/04/defensive_linemen_craig…

if we can't beat msu or OSU this year with all they have lost, we got some problems and I'll need to pull back my expectations some. not that anyone cares about my expectations

and that's preseason. I don't think too many DLs to through the season completely healthy. As someone said, the DL - particulary  the depth factor - has been what, imo, has caused them to field a strong D pretty much every year. That line and their lbing glve clinics on forcing runners into harm's way. It'll hurt.

But yes, it must have been real bad.

Whatever it was, it is likely something they did together. So some sort of behavior thing, and not academic. And they are off the team, but no mention of their status with the University. And no mention of "team rules" so it kind of feels like there are privacy concerns here, and it is a University-level issue?

I agree with your sentiment . . . but man, I HATE the use of the word "seriously?" Even in print, I hear my 14 year old daughter saying that with teen scorn, and I don't like it. Maybe it is a teen or slacker or millenial thing, but try to avoid saying or writing it.

Actually, by the letter and spirit of the rule set out in the original FAQ for the board, any information about conference rivals / opponents or future opponents in general would be considered on topic. Considering that it is spring camp season for everyone except us basically as we've had ours, we'll probably see quite a few of these anyway, as is normal (if there is a normal around here, which is a different story - no shame in keeping the place delightfully weird either).

You do realize that Stu Dunnings ,  the prosecutor you're referencing, was a Michigan fan and received a Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan Law School?

Then again you're probably right,  D'ontonii kicking two players off the team likely has a strong correlation to the slime ball prosector being jailed.
