The best ever....EVER was the 2018 Servepro first responders bowl....which was cancelled due to weather....

Servepro's business slogan is "like it never even happened".   I adore the irony.

The weirdest thing being at the Alabama/UM game and hearing the announcer say "Verbo" over and over. I always thought it was just letters and never heard anyone say it that way.

Alright, I’ll bite.   It has been called the Fiesta Bowl since it was started in 1971, a decade or more before bowl games started selling naming rights.  Early sponsors included Sunkist Oranges and IBM.    The Rose Bowl was named for the it’s founding sponsor, SoCal’s Tournament of Roses.  Most of the early bowls were named for a local crop, e.g. Miami’s Orange Bowl, Dallas / Ft. Worth’s Cotton Bowl, and New Orleans’ Sugar Bowl.

Rumor has it that American Standard is in a tight bidding war with Bemis for that honor. Ironically, American Standard is HQ’d in our other scarlet “rival’s” hometown, Piscataway, NJ. Maybe they should buy the rights to Rutgers Stadium and rename it “The Dump”.

Loved the 1986 Sunkist Fiesta Bowl:

Behind by 11 points at halftime, Michigan took advantage of Nebraska turnovers, scored 24 points in the third quarter, and prevailed by a score of 27–23.  It was the Jamie Morris, Mark Messner, and even Jim Harbaugh show.  A good time for all!

M entered the game #5, ended at #2.  Bo's highest ranked team; even topped the undefeated, once-tied 1973 team that finished #6.
