Press trying to create a controversy. The kid is upset that he missed it. I will not be surprised if he makes everyone of them rest of the way.

I'm not supposed to share this, but here is the conversation verbatim: Quinn! Yes, coach. I'm telling you Quinn, I did not crash on your parents couch and eat your dad's soggy-ass pancakes made with skim milk for no reason, did I? No, coach. Because I'm pretty damned sure you're the best kicker in the B1G, right? Maybe, sir. MAYBE?? Yes sir. Good, Quinn. Now make the next kick so I don't have to eat some other dad's soggy ass pancakes next year. You're a rock star, Quinn. Go and kick like it! Yes sir! And Quinn? Those pancakes? I think my duodenum was plugged for a week. So make the kick!

Wow you guys are right. He genuinely looked happy for the first time all year. I really hope Nordin makes the rest of his kicks. He really has played well up until the psu game.

For Harbaugh to get on him. The kid is talented for sure.

Slumps happen and then they don’t. Hard to explain it any other way. No question the talent is there. He will come out of it hopefully soon or Quinn will be watching his backup the rest of the season.

I like this going into next week. I have a great feeling about this game. Need to get that offense going a little. the defense is going to be amped!

I think that’s a completely fair, and seemingly accurate, explanation of what occurred. He needs to make them. He believes he will. Coach let’s him know that he’s not guaranteed to remain the kicker if he continues to struggle, but they still believe he can be successful.

Harbaugh knows that letting this thing metastasize into some big deal in the press is not in the team's interests, so he's intelligently portraying it as something other than it was.

His immediate reaction after Nordin missed the FG was plainly obvious—he was pissed off—and trying to characterize his brief interaction with Nordin on the sideline as some sort of pleasant encouragement is directly contradicted by Harbaugh's own words: 

“I think anger is a powerful motivator,”

Nordin is tied for 61st in the country in FG% and is 9th in the conference, and Harbaugh knows that with an offense that isn't exactly a juggernaut in scoring touchdowns he needs all the points he can get.

Hate when people try to read into Harbaugh’s body language, but this time it is clear something is different.

How everyone cares so much about Harbaugh's body language.  Oh no, he's definitely leaving for the NFL, he only smiled twice this week...Enough already.
