Yeah, they always seem to improve as the season goes on, and of course play out of their minds against us (and OSU for that matter.)

But there are a couple guys whose loss would really hurt them.  If McDowell goes down, forget it.

Furman has actually gotten a couple good runs - there was a big hole on that last one.

If their QB wasn't terrible they might actually be able to hang around.

I'm a total idiot, can someone tell me why State has opened their season on a Friday night the past few years. Is there an actual reason or is it just scheduling?

McDowell wil be playing on Sunday.  He looks to be too thin for the interior line, so maybe some team moves him outside to rush DE.

I'm not impressed with either line for MSU so far.  Even on the first drive, the RBs did most of the work.  But the run blocking has been mediocre for the most part, O'Connor has felt some pressure, and on D McDowell is the only DL that seems to be doing all that much.

Not sure they will. After six guys getting kicked off the team or suspended, it wouldn't shock me if MSU won that game.

This is the kind of game that Sparty weasels its way into winning despite the fact that they have no business winning it.

Don't like that 3rd and 1 play call.  The bunched up formation takes away too many options and tips the offense's hand. MSU smelled that out easily.

I'll believe they're actually an average team at the end of the season if their record reflects it. Sparty ALWAYS plays to their competition. One week they barely eek by Western or someone else terrible and the next they go toe to toe with OSU. They ALWAYS do this shit were they're terrible to start the season then end up only losing like 1-2 games. You can't ever assume just because they look bad their first few games doesn't mean they won't end up winning when it counts.
