Derrick Green [Open] Thread

Submitted by eth2 on January 26th, 2013 at 11:48 AM

Today is the day. In about 4 hours from now at 4PM EST, Hermitage RB Derrick Green will announce his decision. Finalists include Michigan, Tennessee, and Auburn.

Story from newspaper that will cover the announcement live:

Mod edit: Changed the name of the thread to discourage the otherwise inevitable onslaught of board posts. Unless Green or someone close to the situation confirms his choice before the announcement, there doesn't need to be another thread posted. If someone wants to start an announcement open thread sometime close to 4:00, go for it. JGB.

I don't understand why there is this intense aversion to starting new threads on an internet message board - a place designed for discussion.  If someone starts a thread and no one responds, it'll drop off the first page pretty quickly.  If it does garner responses, then obviously it was worth posting in the first place.  So what's the problem?

I was very suspicious yesterday when Ira said that Sam was on special assignment. Didn't want to get my hopes up. Looks like he has confirmed this on Twitter. Fingers crossed.

I have a very dry sense of humor and an affinity that boarders madness for Michigan football. Fortunately, I can not claim the priority high ground on any of the degenerate Michigan Football fans on this board and I would not have it any other way.

I don't want to sound overly pessimistic, but I just want people to be aware that whenever a recruit is involved with Auburn, there tend to be, in certain high profile cases, some shady dealings involved. I'm not saying that Green wont pick Michigan, but I'm saying I wouldn't be surprised if he were to pick Auburn. Tennessee is a long shot, though.
