Before you read: if Michigan can't get Harbaugh or Les Miles, dig this-

Aside from being a raving lunatic who parades his cat around the field at spring games, 4 division titles sounds pretty good to me.

67-27 overall record, 39-17 in conference play. He took over in 2008.

Michigan's record since 2008 is 46-42, 24-32 in the B1G with zero B1G titles.

He has 3 bowl wins in 7 years. Michigan has won 3 bowl games in 13 years.

Nebraska has a great history and tradition. But they aren't Michigan and they don't have the appeal that Michigan does in terms of recruiting.

that it's faulty logic to think that just anyone can win "x" number of games given the talent, resources, etc.

Since Carr retired, UM has had two 8 win seasons in seven years.

I think the stupidity of typing, "My cat could coach top defenses at LSU with the recruits they get." should be pretty apparent to anyone who's followed Michigan football over the past decade or so.  The same stupid stuff was typed about Michigan not too long ago, and look how that's played out.

I'd like to point out that it is not unheard of for good coordinators to become head coaches and see their specialty perform below expectations; only to go back to being a successful coordinator later. NFL examples include josh McDaniels, mike tice. College example ed orgeron

I agree with two and three and would like to combine them.

No.  I'd consider him for DC.

I have no problem with Nebraska firing Pelini and don't want to see him hired at Michigan.  It would put us all back in the endless cycle of thinking "our" team has a great chance this year, winning games early, only to have our hopes crushed every year with one or two "inexplicable losses."

No, thanks.

I mean, he can't be more of a raving lunatic than Miles I suppose. Recruiting black hole of Nebraska aside, he doesn't seem like the home run hire that we really need.

I support the idea of Pelini becoming a position coach here.

However, I would imagine he'll have another HC gig within the next couple days(unless he intends to take a year off or somthing like that).

If we can't get #1 or #2 then Bo Pellini would be OK with me.  It could be much worse - as in no change or promotion of Nussmeier.   Bo would clean house - he recruits Ohio.    His players love him.  I would be ok with this, but not without pursuing #1 and #2. He is a crazy but good coach.  But, again, I would prefer a crazy good coach.  Sometimes those don't work out though.

I prefer a good coach to a not so good coach.  Bo would play the B1G with a vengeance.  His players love him because he is  a good coach.  He's outspoken and for the most part well spoken.

I don't want him if we can get someone better, but I'm not going to cry if it's Bo.

So we hire him and immediately say that our expectations are lower in football than Nebraska.  Brilliant plan!

After a decade of mostly painful football, I would gladly take Pelini's boring 9-4 and 10-4 years.  Additionally, he in theory should be able to recruit better here - and therefore perform better here as well.

He isn't my first choice, but he would be a big upgrade over what we currently have.

I don't want to eliminate solid coaches for silly reasons like no Michigan connections, going 9-4 or 10-4 every year at Nebraksa, etc...
