WTF? There was absolutely no trolling going on there at all. Just because I told a few people something they didn't want to hear doesn't mean the thread needed to be deleted. Especially with that vomit worthy "Jim Come Home" thread right below it.

If you are going to delete my thread, get rid of that other piece of shit as well. People are becoming absolutely delusional here, and the mods are doing everything possible to encourage it.

I just hit 100 points today,

I just hit 100 points today, but it appears that I am not allowed to post a topic. Can someone look into this for me please?

Thank you!

Here's the thing.
We are

Here's the thing.

We are currently doing a coaching search where Jim Harbaugh is possible candidate 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 1E, and 1F. He cant be hired for another three weeks(unless he gets fired, which doesn't seem very likely). I'm glad that sports talk is focusing on complete nonsense, because Harbaugh is obviously the only one we are going after, and he will eventually become the hire.

That is a horrible idea. You

That is a horrible idea. You always have to be good in the trenches.

Let's not kid ourselves. This

Let's not kid ourselves. This is absolutely a top 5 job in college football, and probably would be considered the 2nd best job(after Notre Dame).

Remember, Rich Rod turned down Alabama the year before he came here.

Coaches didn't turn us down last time, because there was only one candidate in mind(Brady Hoke). Brandon assumed he could find a "Yes Man" for the top, and give him money to hire good assistants and this would produce a winning fotball team.

Obviously some people aren't going to leave a situation they're already in to come here, but those guys wouldn't leave to go anywhere.

Agree. This isn't the best

Agree. This isn't the best breakfast place by any stretch, but for whatever reason if I'm craving breakfast food and have nobody to go out with, it's the only place I'm usually willing to eat at solo. You can walk in and out in about 15 minutes, with a big stomach full of breakfast food. The waitresses can be a bit on the trashy side, but that's to be expected in a diner type of place.

No kidding.

No kidding.

I don't know about you guys,

I don't know about you guys, but this sounds to me like a done deal.

You could get another hobby

You could get another hobby for a little bit?

This thing isn't going to be over for another three weeks.

Pop the molly I'm sweatin'!

I think he should decide

I think he should decide right now, or we should move on. Screw his schedule.

I actually think the board

I actually think the board has gotten better since Ace left. His posts are just a poor man's copy of Brian's writing style, and he banned my other screen name for no reason a couple weeks ago during the Frank Clark fiasco(I think it may have something to do with him not feeling good at the time).

Frankly, Ace could easily be replaced and this site would not miss a beat. Nowmight be a good time to cut out some dead weight.

If there wasn't already an

If there wasn't already an agreement in place with Harbaugh, we would have a different coach by now. Think about it....

I'm so excited for the end of

I'm so excited for the end of this month.

The point was, how do you

The point was, how do you make good money and not have a car? Chicago is not New York, it's not tough to have a car there.

A guy I know(close friend of

A guy I know(close friend of my father) had very similar symptoms........low energy, no appetite, subtle shaking, beginning to lose balance. He was actually diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and is now basically comatose in a wheelchair after about a decade.

Hope everything works out for the best!

The board did used to have

The board did used to have standards, and there's no way they'd allow something like this to stand longer than about 5 minutes.

Come on, how can you be an

Come on, how can you be an alum with presumably a pretty good job still taking the Amtrak?!? Even the Megabus is a much better option, and bums use it.

Who cares?

Who cares?

Funchess was 100% to leave

Funchess was 100% to leave before this season even started. Anyone who thinks he would somehow change his mind during a coaching change is delusional.

He has the body to be successful in the NFL. Honestly, he has the feel of a guy who will fall down draft boards and get picked in the 4th or 5th round and never work hard enough to be a regular starter in the pros. Huge waste of what would otherwise be a first round talent with the right motivation in college.

I agree with this. He already

I agree with this. He already jumped once to a local team just so he could stay in town.

I love that SD State coaching

I love that SD State coaching video. "Find the asshole".

I heard this same thing as

I heard this same thing as well from my friend who is very well connected within the Michigan football community. It's structured as a 10 year deal, where he gets $5m per year, then the remaining $30m after year 10.

Who knows if he'll take it, but I would hope.

Yeah, I'd take him this time

Yeah, I'd take him this time around. He has all those recruiting ties to the south and would be able to kick ass here.

It's not an absolute slam dunk, but I don't see much downside to it.

Are you and Jon Bacon lovers

Are you and Jon Bacon lovers or something?

Depends on what type of

Depends on what type of sausage.

I'm not a person who thinks

I'm not a person who thinks Harbaugh is going to come here, but after watching that press conference, I'm thinking the chances are greater. He didn't even come close to answering any questions about his job status.

That is too damn funny.

This is a great point. Carr

This is a great point. Carr was 62 at retirement, but he probably had the energy of a 75 year old guy.

Les still is a bundle of energy, and I would imagine he can keep coaching at a high level until 70. Saban is 63 now, but he looks and acts much younger, and will probably be doing this til late 60s.

Joe Paterno was 86 when he finally decided to stop coaching, but at that time he had the energy of someone much younger, I'd say like 65-70.

Or for an example outside of coaching, I'd say Dave Brandon. He's 62, but I would never think he's a day over like 50. He still has the ability to connect with people because of a somewhat youthful energy.

I guess what I'm saying with this is once you get past the age of like 25, it honestly is just a number and not much should really be determined based on age.

Older guys have the old

Older guys have the old school management style down, which works for college football. They don't take shit from anyone, and don't care about things like "hurt feelings".

I support the idea of Pelini

I support the idea of Pelini becoming a position coach here.

However, I would imagine he'll have another HC gig within the next couple days(unless he intends to take a year off or somthing like that).

Considering that recruiting

Considering that recruiting is a sales position, I actually see where he's coming from with the hot wife comment. If you can't convince an attractive woman to marry you, chances are pretty good that you wouldn't be able to convince a 17 year old with 25 other suitors to play football for you.

You're gonna have to explain

You're gonna have to explain yourself here. What about Illinois' one good season in the past 25 makes you think it is a program on the cusp of greatness?

Newspaper writers should

Newspaper writers should stick to print. There's a reason you never made it into broadcast journalism.

However, that Quinn guy is possibly the best writer I've ever seen at MLive.

"I don't actually care about

"I don't actually care about the team or how well they do. I just love to have constant news at all times"

People on this site are

People on this site are already setting the stage for another coaching search blunder. They are like the Jerry Springer crowd, with the subconscious belief that constant entertainment of folly is better than allowing us to build a winner with patience.
