CBS Sports just did a week 5 rookie power rank. Devin Bush features, Chase Winovich drops in at #10. Bush has been as advertised and the Steelers are looking really smart for trading up for him. And Winovich is looking like a fantastic value in round 3.

1. Devin Bush, ILB, Pittsburgh Steelers

Stats: 4 games -- 37 tackles, a sack, a fumble recovery and a pass deflection

Bush has been the most consistent performer all season and that continued Monday night against the Bengals. He recorded an early sack on quarterback Andy Daltonand never looked back. The linebacker finished with nine tackles, including three for a loss, a sack and a pass deflection.

10. Chase Winovich, DE, New England Patriots

Stats: 4 games -- Five tackles, three sacks

Winovich has three sacks in his past three games. Although the latest came in garbage time against the Bills, that game was still very much in doubt. New England's defense has been great this season because of players like him.

Chase has been awesome. Patriots fans haven't really acted as hyped about his performances as I thought they would, but I guess when you win championships every year it takes more than a few rookie sacks to get you pumped

As a Pats fan, I think the defense has been so good overall that he gets overshadowed a bit. You have McCourty with 4 ints already, the pick sixes, and 18 total sacks. Most years it would be a bigger story especially since they've had multiple years where the sack totals are pretty low.

I think that the way the patriots play defense where you have a bunch of people playing solid and contributing not just 2-3 “stars” keep s the hype down.   As a pats fan in can say 2 things 1-we’ve been conditioned to wait for a large body of work before going haha and 2-it warms my heart to see Chase in games and on the sideline big smile and hair flowing.

OSU and Steelers fan here.  Bush is the real deal.  If any of you were watching the game last night, I think a play that hasn't been talked about much was his best play of the game.  Cincinnati tried to set up a screen, Bush threw a blocker off of him and sniffed out the screen and dropped the RB for a loss.  For a rookie, the kid is showing he has a very high football IQ.  He is reading NFL offenses and hitting the right gaps on the regular.  Glad they traded up to get him because they have been missing a guy with his athleticism since Shazier went down.

We may look back at our 2018 team and see multiple pro bowlers that got blown out by 30 against a practice squad QB.

When you have a bunch of receivers that run a 4.3 in college, you don’t have to have an NFL QB to complete passes to them.

I thought the Giants were dumb for taking Daniel Jones over Haskins just like everyone else, but so far it has shown to be a great example of how college stats can be very deceptive. For a guy like Haskins, like 90% of his college snaps were like if you put Madden on the easiest level. While that should be a coach’s goal, it doesn’t translate well to he NFL when you are used to having wide open receivers.

No offense but if you think Haskins is going to a practice squad only guy then I don't know what to tell you. Haskins should have never gone in that game. He hadn't been taking any snaps all week w/ the 1 team and gets thrown in to an already shitty game. No chance to gain a rhythm or a feel for the routes being run other maybe Terry McLaurin who he has a history with. Haskins has the tools to be the real deal. Maybe not a pro bowler every year but definitely someone who could have a solid career. I am a 'skins fan and we have a LOT more problems than Haskins. Right now you have a pissing contest between a head coach and staff and the owner. Hell even Haskins private coach came out and said he needs to sit a year. NCAA and NFL offenses are wildly different but Haskins actually came from an offense that was closer to an NFL offense than most schools. I hate that he got drafted by us but as a skins fan I will root for him to have success. Haskins can throw balls in ways  I could only dream Shea could come close to.

Always good to see guys do well in the NFL but all you have to know when looking at the NFL rosters about Michigan's lack of ability to have an explosive offense, not a single skill position in player in the NFL went to Michigan.

bush was always going to be a beast so thats not surprising but its nice to see winovich also making an early impact.  guess i shouldnt be too surprised though given what everyone says about winovichs crazy work ethic.

need to continue repopulating the league with wolverines.  wasnt a huge draft class for michigan but bush, long, winovich and gary should earn multiple contracts

What, Chase started out as a LB, then TE/FB before settling in at DL? I didn't think it was possible to move someone like, say Ben Mason, into a new position and have him find success. Chase must be another failed Harbaugh experiment. I wonder when the Patriots will learn this.
