No surprise there, I thought it was only a matter of time honestly.
Also, the Ohio got another commit today from DE/LB Lewis Neal.

Or do you just live on here and live vicariously through the Mgocommunity?

But I'm about to go to the library. So HA!

Has that Broseph Buckeye quality to him. Good fit.
April 23rd, 2012 at 12:44 PM ^
One look at his mugshot on Rivals, and I knew Mr. Bosa was Buckeye material. He will be fun to hate for the next few years.
It would be great if we never even thought about him again because he turned out to be a bust.
I hope you're right, but I have a feeling he's going to be a good one (personal fouls aside, maybe.)
that vacant, Katzenmoyer-esque look about him.

STOP saying "good luck" to players who go to our biggest rival that we were also interested in. Do you "really" wish him good luck? You might as well just say, "Mr. Bosa, I hope you have 4 sacks again Shane in The Game in 2015".
I don't wish him any luck at all. People here really need to stop saying that and just be honest - "Mr. Bosa, I'm sorry you chose an inferior school - I hope you have an incredibly lackluster career and your four star rating is shown as extremely overrated in late November for the next 4/5 years by the likes of Kalis and Co."
April 23rd, 2012 at 12:04 PM ^
Never wish ill will on teenagers. These are kids. I wish him all of the luck in 11 games a year, but that one Saturday in November we're gunna run him over. We aren't [Redacted MSU insult] or Ohio who wish that these players spontaneously combust or tear an ACL. Remember they are 16 or 17 years old!!
[ED:BISB - Only the sentiment expressed has saved you from Bolivian. Let this serve as a Public Service Announcement: Brian has declared that calling MSU an insult rhyming with 'Martina" is grounds for a paddling.]
April 23rd, 2012 at 12:14 PM ^
There is a big difference between wishing someone good luck and hoping that they suffer a debilitating injury. Shooting for somewhere inbetween would be good.
April 23rd, 2012 at 12:21 PM ^
show me where in my post I wished ill will upon him.
April 23rd, 2012 at 12:08 PM ^
Or... we could not be absolute assholes to teenage kids. We could respect their decisions and acknowledge them for their accomplishments and their talent. There is no reason that someone cannot wish a kid good luck in 11 out of the 12 games they will play on a yearly basis.
Find a little bit of maturity, show some class, be representative of what it means to be a true Michigan fan. Good luck to Bosa, and as always, Go Blue.
April 23rd, 2012 at 12:14 PM ^
How saying "I hope you have a lackluster career" is being an asshole. I'm not sending a text, a tweet or an email to him. I'm on a Michigan Blog. Stop the "high and mighty" act. I never said I wanted him to get hurt.
So Kyle, before every game are you the type of guy that goes over to the OSU bench and says "Hey guys, go out there and have a great game against Michigan! I sure hope ya don't beat us.. but golly gee, GOOD LUCK!"
April 23rd, 2012 at 12:20 PM ^
You clearly aren't understanding. Bosa is a young man with a future ahead of him. A future probably largely tied to his performance in football. Saying you hope he has a luckluster career is basically saying you hope he fails. The fact that you are on a Michigan blog doesn't change that sentiment. What it does is reflect poorly on the rest of us Michigan fans.
April 23rd, 2012 at 12:17 PM ^
Going to Columbus once wearing Michigan gear, you'll understand why you don't wish any of them good luck.
So you do that once for me - go to the 'Shoe, wear your gear - cheer for Michigan and see how you feel after the game. Their fan base does not deserve respect after the way my friends and I were treated.
April 23rd, 2012 at 12:24 PM ^
I've been to the Shoe in Michigan gear. It was awful. I won't do it again.
Some of the fans in their fanbase don't deserve respect. Some do. Hell some of OSU's players don't deserve respect (Pryor) but some do. However, you aren't selectively disrespecting those people by saying you hope Bosa fails you are disrespecting Bosa. Learn the difference.
April 23rd, 2012 at 12:27 PM ^
So you are the type of guy you stereotypes an entire group of people based off one incident where you got your feelings hurt? Again, please grow up, not all Buckeye fans/players are horrible people. Last I knew, they were just as human as you or me, and most have probably done nothing to earn your personal lack of respect.
small sample size. These fans are delusional and blind to anything not scarlet and gray. Please don't come on here with a "holier than thou" act because it does no good. This is a blog. On the internet. He's not saying anything demeaning, however, I know many, many people that live in Columbus and they react to Michigan and Michigan football the same way every time: with complete and utter disrespect. There is virtually no respect for UM in that town. What good do you think comes by being "respectful" to anything associated with that program on an internet blog? Nothing. Yes, rivals are supposed to hate each other, but they take it to a level where sports becomes a side story. They incorporate their hatred of UM in their way of life. After their home games, never mind who they play, they always sing that stupid song where they have to trash UM. It could be Akron. It could be Penn State. It could be an invading alien force. It does not matter to them. They still trash UM. Honestly, the best policy when these guys go to Ohio would be to simply leave it at, "Poor choice dude" and move on.
April 23rd, 2012 at 12:17 PM ^
Who peed in your Cheerios? Wishing a kid (and we are talking about kids here) good luck doesn't mean that you hope that his team beats Michigan.
I wished no ill will upon Bosa. My point was that I think sometimes we as Michigan fans take the PC route too far. This was proven by the first response of "WRONG WRONG WRONG" - the person who responded didn't even really look at what I wrote and automatically assumed that since I didn't wish him good luck that I was acting childishly and I wasn't a true fan and should be booted from this board... Michigan hates OSU, OSU hates Michigan - thats why it's such a great rivalry. If we all acted like 18th century gentleman having tea together the rivalry wouldn't be what it is today.
To me, when you wish someone "Good luck" you want them to have success. Them (OSU) having success means a smaller percentage of success for us against them. Therefore, as a Michigan fan I do not want him to perform as well as advertised (4*) - I don't feel this is disrespectful at all. To wish injury is horrible and I would never and will never wish that upon even my most hated rival.
Anyway, I apologize if I got a little heated - and I shouldn't stereotype an entire fan base (Kyle's right), it's just when you have a sample size of about 15-20, and all conform to that stereotype, compounded with my own (extremely) negative experience in their home stadium (multiple fans) - it's very hard for me to see anything but red (I know, horrible pun) when I think about OSU. So wishing a recruit good luck is the farthest thing from my mind. If that makes me a "bad fan", then so be it. But I'd rather not put good kharma vibes into the universe for anyone that wears the scarlet and grey.

Question for lurking Buckeye fans:
It sounds like you now have four DL commits (Bosa, Neal, Sprinkle, and Price). Given the limited scholarships available, are you finished with the DL for this class? I'm asking because I'm curious if this makes Henry Poggi a Michigan vs. Alabama battle.
April 23rd, 2012 at 11:28 AM ^
I certainly hope we are finished.. For all the reasons you mentioned, it's time to look elsewhere. We are at 13 spots, most recruitniks say we will be at 17 or 18 for the class. We still need 2 more OL, at least one more WR, maybe a DB, maybe another LB, and maybe another RB.
Also, we are expected to get TE Mike Heuerman sometime this week as well (perhaps as soon as today)
No, this is Fickell and Vrabel's new scheme. Line up 7 DTs and 4DEs, then laugh when teams try to run.
And we'd still just follow Kalis right past Tommy Schutt.
April 23rd, 2012 at 11:27 AM ^
Lewis Neal as well.
To the post above mine, I think this is hte last DL recruit we take, considering the schollie crunch.

You couldn't possibly have started this account within one minute of me addressing a question to lurking Buckeye fans, could you?

It was purely coincidence that I decided to register a log in at this moment.
Don't expect too many posts though, I intend to live up to the moniker ;)

April 23rd, 2012 at 11:46 AM ^
What is the feeling in Buckeyeland about your O-Line prospects for this year? After last year, we expected to see more OL and less DL recruiting from Urb, and many of your apparent targets have dropped off the board.
(BTW, any answer other than "OMG WE IZ PANICKED!!!" will not please us. So, throw us a bone here)
Panicked, no, uneasy, perhaps. In the same way that Hoke has fostered a palpable increase in DL confidence within your fanbase, last year's OL class has shown us that we're not in danger at the moment. With the lead in the Pocic sweepstakes, and evaluation still being done, I personally won't be panicking after NSD 2013, but I think you'll see his priorities change polarity immediately for the 2014 class. See: Jimmy Byrne. Also 3 other offers out on O-linemen already for 2014, out of a small pool of offers.
OSU only leads for Pocic because Michigan was full on the O-line
Thanks for that new outlook on it that no one has ever said before

Serioulsly - what is going on with your avatar? I mean, you spent some time uploading it. It's a pile of cash...and....a laptop? I don't understand.
April 23rd, 2012 at 11:55 AM ^
Cam Newton originally sign with? And for how much? And didn't he get caught with some, well, borrowed laptops before getting tossed from UF? Oh yeah, and who coached the football team of that fine academic institution?

before the burglary. Not sure why that's his avatar though.

I think the main battles are now for Dymonte Thomas (long shot) and Laquan Treadwell (seems to be favoring UM)
If you guys re-open to Pocic, add him to the list since OSU is heavily targeting him.
April 23rd, 2012 at 11:46 AM ^
Don't care what you or anyone on this board says that kid is solid.
Next time this topic comes up, please remember me as the Ohio State fan that agrees with you. I wish our fanbase would stop poking the bear about it and have an ounce of pragmatism, and that your fanbase could just chalk it up to wishful thinking, and drop it.
Totally agree here. The Thomad boat has pretty much sailed. I'd say our chances of getting him now are maybe in the 2% range. Just my opinion, but the staff seems to be holding out for Bell now, especially after he said OSU was his favorite visit so far. If we land Bell, I don't think you'll anything about Thomas from OSU fans anymore.
April 23rd, 2012 at 11:58 AM ^
I don't think Dymonte was recruiting Ben Gedeon to Michigan so he could play against him.
