The easiest way forward

they over-sign their grad schools all the time.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:00 PM ^
Everybody over-signs grad students. :(
January 5th, 2011 at 9:33 PM ^
Ha! How true.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:51 PM ^
Washington, in case you were wondering.
January 6th, 2011 at 4:17 AM ^
...kills people, murders people...
January 6th, 2011 at 6:52 AM ^
Seriously, Michigan way oversigned their chemistry grad students this year. I usually can get a 50% gsi appointment in chem, but not this term. too many fricken first year chem grad students took up all of gsi slots

Damn you MGoBlog why can't I +1 when I am blurry eyed drunk and feel so compelled...I guess I am relegated to getting blind drunk
January 6th, 2011 at 7:38 AM ^
If someone is awake and has an iPhone can you cut and copy Brian's Front page "NON-Hoke Options:Extant" to the MGoBoard so we can discuss. Either I'm an Idiot (debatable), I cannot create content and I'm Ass-u-meing you tech people can. Thanks.

Calling Alabama a "school" may be a bit of a stretch.
In all seriousness, when I was applying to law school, Alabama Law was the best buy in the country.
January 5th, 2011 at 8:37 PM ^
Unfortunately, now is not the time to be choosing law schools based upon bang for your buck.
January 5th, 2011 at 8:54 PM ^
Not at a place like Alabama, but at schools like HLS, YLS, Stanford, and Michigan you are still getting a very good job when you graduate.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:09 PM ^
Yeah, I kinda think that's what he meant. None of those would be classified as "bang for your buck."
January 5th, 2011 at 8:53 PM ^
Are you sure it wasn't just run out of a Best Buy?
January 6th, 2011 at 1:48 AM ^
that would make you a shoo-in for a Supreme Court clerk.
January 5th, 2011 at 8:35 PM ^
you can get one out of a box of captain crunch.
January 5th, 2011 at 8:37 PM ^
But it is only $3 with two UPCs
January 5th, 2011 at 8:46 PM ^
There are hundreds of confederate battle flags, surely there is one you might like.
Folks down here say : American by birth, southern by the grace of god.
January 5th, 2011 at 8:53 PM ^
I know, I am just kidding. I'm down here to.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:10 PM ^
Yeah, I was just meaning these people are intense about everything down here and yes cheating at football is mandatory.
That flag from the front bumper to the sliding rear window.........breathtaking.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:56 PM ^
my name is Inigo Montoya, you have killed my father, prepare to die.
Disclaimer: was a funny post about Alabama/hillbillies/etc., but too close to political line after some self reflection.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:58 PM ^
Basil made some points. They were incoherent, and perhaps a bit drunken, but they were points.
January 5th, 2011 at 10:11 PM ^
Like his point towards the plane saying, "I like it."
January 5th, 2011 at 8:44 PM ^
Go ahead and jump off the bandwagon. Don't think you can just jump back on later however.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:31 PM ^
You consistently have a wonderful sense of humor.
January 6th, 2011 at 2:35 AM ^
Of course he does. He's from Wyoming.
January 5th, 2011 at 8:44 PM ^
. . . was to follow the University of Chicago. Abolish division 1 football. Gentlemen should not sully themselves on the gridiron, or at least, only do so against Carnegie-Mellon and MIT.
(In truth, I have no idea who Chicago's opponents are.)
January 5th, 2011 at 9:22 PM ^
Carnegie Mellon is indeed on the Maroon schedule...
January 6th, 2011 at 2:38 AM ^
Chicago's town rival was SAIC.
January 5th, 2011 at 8:44 PM ^
January 5th, 2011 at 8:52 PM ^
I would up vote you if I could. Say what you want about the WWL but they consistently have some damn funny commercials.
January 5th, 2011 at 8:51 PM ^
You bet you can get a degree there, and it won't take much effort. Party on
January 5th, 2011 at 8:57 PM ^
Unfortunately it is for immediate family members, cousin, uncles and aunties. Oh yeah and Uncle Jessie impersonators. Right on the corner of Banjo and Fiddle.
January 6th, 2011 at 1:53 AM ^

January 6th, 2011 at 8:40 AM ^
Hick-speak and pirate-speak are the same? YAR?
(shakes head)
January 5th, 2011 at 9:04 PM ^
depends on how you define "degree."
January 5th, 2011 at 9:30 PM ^
[repeat of already mentioned joke about grad school oversigning, with comment that my grad school incoming class at U-M was roughly double the size of traditional classes -- nice fight to the death for advisors]
January 5th, 2011 at 9:07 PM ^
Can you play football and are rated a 4/5 star prospect by ESPN/RIVALS/SCOUT?
Then no, you should come to Michigan instead.
If you want to get an education, you should come to Michigan
January 6th, 2011 at 1:24 AM ^
I'm 5'8, 150lbs, and had a 162 LSAT.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:20 PM ^
As someone who as a degree from Alabama, I can say... eh... nothing that's going to change the minds of anyone around here.
January 6th, 2011 at 1:55 AM ^
you're making me shit me knickers a second time !
January 6th, 2011 at 2:41 AM ^
It's a pleasantly neutral state with a pleasantly neutral college in a pleasantly neutral town. Moving on . . .
January 5th, 2011 at 9:26 PM ^
HA! I hear back from Ross next week. And as bad as I want to go there I'm dreading the next two years of Saturdays. I just submitted my Duke-Fuqua application this afternoon and thought it was too ironic that the Duke is at the top of Men's Basketball again...
Oh, and they have a Coack K Center for Leadership. Why do we not have a similar research center named after Bo? Pretty sure Coach K didn't have to pay to plaster his name all over that school.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:32 PM ^
Paterno has given millions to Penn State ....
Go Blue !
January 5th, 2011 at 9:51 PM ^
January 5th, 2011 at 10:01 PM ^
Wait for B-School? I didn't get an email. Shoot, don't reply. I don't want to know... I don't need the stress for the next week.
January 5th, 2011 at 10:58 PM ^
I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to walk on. I don't think the real recruits have to pay $200 for the application fee and spend close to $1k to fly to Ann Arbor for an interview. Plus, I'm pretty sure I'm not getting a full-scholarship :-/
