The easiest way forward

I've thought a lot about it, and I think the best thing for me to do is apply for a doctorate degree at Alabama. The football team is great, and I'm pretty sure there is a school attached to the football team. Can one get a graduate degree at the University of Alabama? Anyone know?

If someone is awake and has an iPhone can you cut and copy Brian's Front page "NON-Hoke Options:Extant" to the MGoBoard so we can discuss. Either I'm an Idiot (debatable), I cannot create content and I'm Ass-u-meing you tech people can. Thanks.

Calling Alabama a "school" may be a bit of a stretch.

In all seriousness, when I was applying to law school, Alabama Law was the best buy in the country.

. . .  was to follow the University of Chicago.  Abolish division 1 football.  Gentlemen should not sully themselves on the gridiron, or at least, only do so against Carnegie-Mellon and MIT.

(In truth, I have no idea who Chicago's opponents are.)

Unfortunately it is for immediate family members, cousin, uncles and aunties. Oh yeah and Uncle Jessie impersonators. Right on the corner of Banjo and Fiddle.

[repeat of already mentioned joke about grad school oversigning, with comment that my grad school incoming class at U-M was roughly double the size of traditional classes -- nice fight to the death for advisors]

Can you play football and are rated a 4/5 star prospect by ESPN/RIVALS/SCOUT?

Then no, you should come to Michigan instead.

If you want to get an education, you should come to Michigan

As someone who as a degree from Alabama, I can say... eh... nothing that's going to change the minds of anyone around here.

HA!  I hear back from Ross next week.  And as bad as I want to go there I'm dreading the next two years of Saturdays.  I just submitted my Duke-Fuqua application this afternoon and thought it was too ironic that the Duke is at the top of Men's Basketball again...

Oh, and they have a Coack K Center for Leadership.  Why do we not have a similar research center named after Bo?  Pretty sure Coach K didn't have to pay to plaster his name all over that school.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to walk on.  I don't think the real recruits have to pay $200 for the application fee and spend close to $1k to fly to Ann Arbor for an interview.  Plus, I'm pretty sure I'm not getting a full-scholarship :-/
