Stale no more

Given that Jim Harbaugh is the closest thing to a modern Bo, and perhaps closest in kind to the old school Michigan offense that I and many faithful yearn the return to,  take note that Stanford is now averaging 40.0 pts/game, which is now MORE than our new era spread, of 36.6 pts/game.

Perhaps the numbers are skewed because Stanford's defense has been far superior and gives more time for the offense on the field.  Or, that our defense has been so bad that opponents have scored so quickly and given our spread offense extra time and opportunities. Or vice versa, I do not know.

Either way, somebody please chime in here and try to give the implications of both defenses and how it affects the numbers above.

Which was the factual post that got negged?

-Calling someone OnlyLosingMGeneration? (the 1950s and 60s say hi, Mr. "Old School")

-Implying that Oregon is #1 because of their defense (and not their *GASP* newfangled spread offense)?

-Failing to understand the pointlessness of directly comparing these two stats without regard to context, team experience, conference, etc etc.

You are obviously someone who never wanted RR in the first place, that's fine but don't blame us for giving him a chance.  Last time I checked, the "old school" mentality was to give a coach 4 years to get all his own players...

calling someone that was in defense, wasn't it?

and wasn't that the point of the post?  to get the context ?    next time answer the fucking question and contribute.

and i'm not blaming you for giving him chance. however, since you said that, i will say this should point out the chance that has been already given, unless you want to be the detroit lions and stay into purgatory and keep blaming the DC year after year.

It doesn't. The point of the MGoBoard is to contribute facts and updates with Michigan football and recruiting; not to blindly post your opinion and who you think the next coach should be (when no coach has even been fired yet and games are still left to play). Opinions belong in Diaries; which is why they are there.

If we upset OSU this weekend do you think this crabby guy would be comparing RR to Harbaugh? I'm guessing not. That's why it's completely worthless to talk about this crap until the end of the season.

I take issue with the OP implying that those who do not yearn to return to Bo's offensive scheme are not faithful.

No support for a specific offensive style can make you faithful.  You can have your opinion about RR's or Bo's offense, but it certainly doesn't secure your faithfulness- that's only gained by enduring support for your school/team.

I don't think Bo would care what we ran as long as it was clean and put up points.

From where I'm standing, looks like we're doing both.

Now on to more important matters: BEAT OSU.

Is this really the only insult you're left with? After you've been trashed and your opinion has been completely proven useless you're left with calling everyone nerds? K. Just checking.

I'm beginning to wonder if you were even alive to experience the "old school" Wolverines. I'm guessing you just read it in:

And thought it would be cool to name yourself that.

In an effort to not give Old School Wolverine any ammo...your first fact is not the best. The Big Ten won't be sending a team to the Little Caesars bowl aka fulfilling its bowl obligations this year either.

But let's continue the MGoNegbombing. This is great. I'm just glad this time it's not bouje.

I don't think you know what the word 'fact' means.

A fact is an objective truth. It can refer to an intrinsic property of something, an event that has taken place, a thing that exists, etc.

What you are expressing is a belief that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certitude. This belief is commonly referred to as an 'opinion'.

Thus, you should have written the following:

OPINION: We wouldn't have won 3 games in the Pac 10 this year.

*Oh, and I added the apostrophe that you forgot in the contraction 'wouldn't'. You're welcome.
