The Toussaint wishing well
Give it up with the eternal wishing that Fitz Toussaint is gonna be some mysterious weapon that gets unleashed and saves the day the next 2 games. Yeah he is a fighter, yeah he has has terrible luck, and yeah, I hope he can be 100% and get some PT. But there are many people that still need to get the delusions out of their head. He is an average back at best, injured or not. Our future at RB is not Fitz Toussaint or Mike Cox. It's Smith and Hopkins. Get used to it.

"He is average at best, injured or not".
I'd love to hear your evidence to back up that one.

super secret double ninja private insider access to every practice.

The present is V Smith and Hopkins and maybe a sprinkle of Toussaint. If Shaw was healthy (knee and now head) he would be starter.

It's an opinion. A "Prediction based on flimsy evidence" if you will. And I was taught in high school writing class to state an opinion without saying "I think" or "I believe" to preface it.
November 15th, 2010 at 10:47 PM ^
A "Prediction based on flimsy evidence"
Is that evidence his track star speed, or his first carry as a wolverine going for 65 yards?
November 15th, 2010 at 10:49 PM ^
I mean, really, have you ever heard of a running back named Fitzgerald? If he were any good, he'd be named Mike, or Vince, or like... Bo or something.
November 15th, 2010 at 10:53 PM ^
Tshimanga is a good one too.
November 16th, 2010 at 9:28 AM ^
But he shortened that name to simply Tim. Or maybe it would be Tshim...

The Edmond Fitzgerald ran pretty well until November. So maybe there's hope for Fitz next year, at least for the first couple of months,
November 16th, 2010 at 10:02 AM ^
if not, he'll be remembered in song...
November 16th, 2010 at 3:27 PM ^
November 15th, 2010 at 10:52 PM ^
the track star speed that got him hawked down by a MAC linebacker.
November 15th, 2010 at 10:55 PM ^
He was also wearing a big ass knee brace but don't let facts like that get in your way. Preach on. More people need to know what you are thinking.
November 15th, 2010 at 11:22 PM ^
the knee brace go flying off in pieces as he ran down the field. Run, Fitz, Run!
November 16th, 2010 at 3:41 AM ^
best movie reference i've heard in a while, thank you sir.
November 16th, 2010 at 10:30 AM ^
Best tag line I've seen in a while +1 to you sir.
November 16th, 2010 at 2:12 PM ^
Not to mention that in one of the countdown to kickoff videos he outran Woolfolk to the end-zone despite TWolf having a slight angle on him. And the coaches hinting that he was going to be the starter before he got hurt in fall camp.
No, not fast at all. Not good at all. Merely average.
November 15th, 2010 at 10:57 PM ^
You are kinda being soft edge.
November 16th, 2010 at 12:05 AM ^
So not HARD EDGE.
November 15th, 2010 at 10:57 PM ^
So now, you're actually, actively arguing against not just common sense, but actual measurable numbers? I mean, do you really want to go down that road? You can argue whether the bird evolved from the dinosaur, but do you want to argue that the bird weighs less?
November 16th, 2010 at 1:09 AM ^
It was a MAC safety who was pretty good at track in high school.
I thought the point of an argument was to be right about something. Anything.
November 16th, 2010 at 2:05 AM ^
Like that safety, I'm sure that there are fast players in the MAC, it's just a matter of how good of a football player they are. That is why Toussaint is in the Big Ten and that safety is not.
November 15th, 2010 at 11:08 PM ^
he was caught from behind. that was very surprising to me.
November 16th, 2010 at 8:52 AM ^
And Roy Roundtree was caught from behind last year while fully healthy. Nevertheless, he seems to have become sorta good.
November 16th, 2010 at 9:23 AM ^
You are right. Barry Sanders used to get caught from behind, too. That is why he sucked. (sarcasm)
November 16th, 2010 at 1:43 AM ^
Taught me to never begin a sentence with the word 'but'. Actually, that was elementary school. Nevermind.
November 16th, 2010 at 12:24 AM ^
"I believe" you are a douche.
November 16th, 2010 at 5:21 AM ^
I went to the same high school as the OP
I was also taught in high school writing class to state an opinion without saying "I think" or "I believe" to preface it.
He is a douche.
Here's my flimsy evidence from the yearbook.

I was taught in high school writing class to state an opinion without saying "I think" or "I believe" to preface it.
Yes, because your opinion should always be stated as fact.
November 16th, 2010 at 6:12 AM ^
this implies that you
(a) were in high school
(b) learned something
both of which seem to be in doubt.
:)
November 16th, 2010 at 10:55 AM ^
Edit: Since I was negged by somebody, this is relevant because the OP posits a baseless opinion and refuses to listen to facts. Just like Shaggy 2 Dope.
November 16th, 2010 at 3:51 PM ^
You were probably negged for bringing up ICP.
November 17th, 2010 at 11:38 AM ^
That's fair.
November 16th, 2010 at 7:05 PM ^
Fucking magnets, how do they work? (probably NSFW)
November 16th, 2010 at 8:48 AM ^
That is just so wrong on so many levels. Without letting the reader know its your opinion, then it is interpretted as you stating a fact. Which it is not.
November 16th, 2010 at 9:31 AM ^
I learned in law school that if you are going to go in court and state an opinion, you sure as hell better let the court know that its your opinion and not word it so it sounds like a fact! I'm not sure what high school you went to (Lincoln Technical Trucking School?) but your teachers sucked a--.
November 16th, 2010 at 9:54 AM ^
I was taught many things in high school. Then, I went to the University of Michigan and had this realization that maybe some things I learned in high school should be ignored. I would be hesitant to post here on premises from high school. [I think] That might result in heavy negging, but that's just my opinion.
November 16th, 2010 at 10:08 AM ^
Did the freep staff also attend your high school?
November 15th, 2010 at 10:37 PM ^
do I throw my penny?
November 15th, 2010 at 11:30 PM ^
When I was a kid, I usually threw my pennies in at Briarwood Mall. Thats where I'm headed tomorrow after reading this thread
November 16th, 2010 at 12:42 AM ^
A Cinnabon while you're there.
November 15th, 2010 at 10:37 PM ^
I negged you.
November 16th, 2010 at 1:32 AM ^
I have no idea why I find this comment to be outstandingly hilarious, but I do. Probably the use of "sweet" in this context. I just laughed the hardest I've laughed all day. Which. . . might mean I need to start laughing more. Or get a nitrous tank.
November 16th, 2010 at 6:35 AM ^
You could check out Amazon to buy some whipped cream chargers. Just a thought, anyway.
November 15th, 2010 at 10:38 PM ^
I'm not too sure if this Fitz talk is hard edge enough.
November 15th, 2010 at 10:45 PM ^
Michigan is hard edge this week. That means Fitz is hard edge as well.
