I dont think theres the slightest reason to panic but a little shocking to see that pop up on Twitter

Beilein is using this to help recruiting. Think about other coaches like Izzo, K, Cal, all have pretended to be interested in the NBA to remind kids they are great coaches. Beilein is now an elite coach and he is making sure 16 year old kids know that. This will only help recruiting.

There will be many tears shed by me whenever he decides to leave Michigan. He is a perfect representative of our university and I hope he stays until his retirement.

1. Standard negotiation technique

2. Help recruiting (shout out to Gucci Mane)

3. Prank the MGoBlogosphere

4. Curious what it would feel like to have a job and knowing you'd get fired

The Pistons have by far the worst roster situation in the league, with a drugged out owner, no GM and a dead fanbase/empty arena. Anyone who thinks there is a nonzero chance of him leaving for the PISTONS need to be checked for brain rot.

after what I think was Blake Griffin's first game as a Piston?

I wasn't paying full attention to what was going on, & I just thought the Pistons were doing some charitable work with a mentally handicapped person.  My wife said "That is Tom Gores!"

he has succeeded at literally every other level of coaching. If you presume he's 3-4 years away from retirement anyway, why not take the ultimate shot?

Warde, pay the man.

I doubt Beilein leaves, but if he ever seriously considers it you need to walk to his office with a blank check and tell him to write in whatever amount he wants.

The guy looks and acts like a college professor, hosts mulch madness, and probably has a jar he puts coins in every time he uses  words like and "darn" and "shucks.

Its one thing to take an interview (afterall, he probably hasn't (and likely won't again) interview for an nba hc) job. Taking it is something else. Even if offered, I would be shocked if he took it.

No offense to Belein but I cant see him as an NBA coach now. Different ball game and he's old now. Only way I'd believe it and any NBA team wanting him is if he had been dominating all of college basketball for the past 5 years. He hasn't.

The NBA!!! Where good and decent coaches go to die! It’s too late in Beilein’s career to turn that Piston’s shitshow around!

How much are we willing to pay to keep him?

Funny how we're having this conversation after many wanted him to hit the bricks not too long ago. Not trolling, just in genuine awe of the sports roller coaster. You have to stop and appreciate it sometimes.

I can’t even imagine that it would even get to this point. Why even play (Im looking at you Warde)? The conversation should be: Whatever you want John..... Im stunned that the interview even happened. Warde has an easy job- do whatever Harbaugh and Beilein want and get the hell out of the way.

This is kind of perplexing. Beilein certainly doesn’t seem the type to threaten leaving in order to force a salary increase for himself. That strategy could certainly have negative consequences on recruiting. And is Manuel so tightfisted that Beilein needs to threaten leaving to get a higher salary for his assistants? Has Beilein’s relationship with Manuel really deteriorated to that extent? Perhaps he is just serious about moving on. Plenty of unanswered questions. Like I said, perplexing.

so did Jason Kidd. If it ones down to Beilein or Kidd, you gotta think Kidd gets the job. Hopefully a money cannon takes care of this before it gets that far.
