Remember in 2015 when our best two players were injured and we had just lost 5 players to the draft the previous 2 years and we played at Maryland and they were chanting "NIT"....jokes on you now Maryland

This looks like a team that has no worries about being named in any yahoo report in the future. In contrast Maryland is playing like a team whose coach had to put out a statement about a yahoo report yesterday.

I think Matthews needs to get a ton of minutes. Wouldn't hurt for him, Livers, and Simmons to get solid minutes. Simmons is someone they need like the 1st half, let him grow his confidence. Those are the 3 that need some solid mojo for their confidence.

Despite all of their bluster and legend, the Turtles of the East quickly proved no match for the Wolverines of the North. After a series of strategic and embarrassing defeats, even their own people started to turn against them. Lord Beilein's brilliant tactical mind and his unstoppable pink-shoed warrior made quick work of the Turtles, and they had absolutely no answer. Requesting a face-to-face with Lord Beilein, with tears in his eyes, Commander Turgeon cried out: "Please have mercy on us! Our own people have turned against us!" Lord Beilein paused for a moment, appearing to be deep in thought. Finally, he put his hand on Commander Turgeon's shoulder and replied: "Nope. We're going to score 100 and then go out for subs to celebrate afterwards."

Serious question to the group, especially Poole doubters earlier for Matthews. Anyone see a reason why he shouldn't be playing starter minutes (28+)? I like him off the bench, just playing a ton of minutes. He simply brings a ton that Matthews can't provide.

After turning the ball over 3 times in their first five possessions, Michigan finishes the first half with 4 turnovers total. It looks like about 33 possessions for Michigan and 32 for Maryland; Michigan got the first and last shot of the half. So: 1.64 ppp on offense and 0.75 on defense (!). Maryland turned the ball over on 25% of their possessions and only got to the line four times. Michigan missed the first free throw of the game and has made nine in a row since. The only real blemish is on the glass, where Maryland has 6 OREBs in 19 opportunities (31.6%); Michigan has 3 OREBs in 11 opportunites though, for 27.3%, which isn’t bad. This pace seems to be right on track for both teams, so I’d expect about the same number of possessions in the second half. If Michigan can get to 75, I think this game is locked up. BTW: Maryland is very likely to make a run; it’s basketball, and it happens. The key is how Michigan responds. Maryland is going to get more free throws in the second half, and Michigan probably won’t make 11 more threes. Still, Michigan’s looking great to go into the Big Ten Tournament on a heck of a high note. Go Blue!
