Hopefully good Moe Wagner shows up tonight. We'll need him. GO BLUE!

No, I don't think Michigan is incapable of losing that game.  KenPom has it as a 57/43 Michigan favorite.  Personally, I'd put it closer to 90/10, because I've seen Northwestern play, and they're flat-out awful this year.  But I think it's ridiculously over the top to call it out as a loss when trying to make the claim that Michigan -- currently in the top 25, and who just put up the most points Purdue has allowed all season -- is somehow going to miss the tournament.

LSU - 12-7, 57 in KenPom, wins over A&M (x2), Arkansas, Memphis, close losses to Kentucky, Georgia, and we lost to them early in the season before we were playing well, by 2, on a neutral court.

Nebraska - 15-8, 61 in KenPom, lost to them on the road, they almost just beat OSU @OSU and lost to Kansas by 1 @Nebraska.

Those losses aren't comparable. Just shut up.

You're dumb.

Northwestern - 13-9, 84 in KenPom, recently blown out by Indiana, doesn't have an actual homecourt

Minnesota - 14-9, 87 in KenPom, lost 4 of last 5 (only non double digit loss was 8 at home to NU), only win in last 5 is OT @PSU, no team depth

OSU - Were up 20 in the first half and 13 at half on the road against them before blowing it

Wisconsin - 10-11 overall, 89th on KenPom Just lost by 18 to Iowa, recently lost by 28 @Purdue, lost to Rutgers.

Might we lose a couple? Sure. Lose at least 4? You're a moron.

KenPom agrees with you.  He was so disgusted by Michigan's performance against Purdue that Michigan climbed from #27 to #25, while Purdue dropped from #2 to #3.  KenPom has an expected record of 22-9, which would be 5-3 down the stretch, so clearly they're a lock to lose at least 4 more.  QED.

I would continue to argue, but I've let all my anger out in this thread already. I can't really argue when I'm not angry.

Damn you and such.

I’m as frustrated as this game as anybody. (Well, maybe not the Sparty troll that was hanging out on this thread). But they just scored 88 points against one of the top defenses in the country, in their building. This is a tournament team. They’re not flawless, and they’re not exactly a good bet to cut down the nets. But it’s ridiculous to suggest that they’ll miss the tournament just because they lost by 4 in a building where Purdue hasn’t lost all year.

What a dispiriting game. I believe that this is only the second time that Michigan has ever lost with Beilein as coach when they have scored 80+ points. MAAR has his best career game, Michigan nearly hits 60 percent from the floor and hits 13 threes, yet it wasn't enough because they allowed over 90 and Purdue hit 62%.

That stretch when Michigan got Purdue's lead to 4 with 4 minutes left and got 3 consecutive stops only to get a missed lay-up and 2 turnovers on the other end was brutal. With smarter play by Matthews and Moe, they would have had a great shot at winning it.

While a one dimensional player sits in the corner, who cannot shoot jumpers or free throws when needing 3’s.

But he can make layups when no one is guarding him.

I think we can compete with anyone in the country. If Edwards doesnt hit the 3 before half and we make a few FT's here and there we coulda won.

Love watching Matthews continue to turn it over in crucial moments.. then he ball hogs instead of giving Wagner an easy jam

Seriously so many great things and equally painful stuff That makes me go crazy. How is your pg. so bad at FT's!?! How can Mo be so weak defensively? How can Matthews be so good at a few things and some of the worst at others. Love how coach B's teams always get better though.

Even in losing, I wonder if this game (assuming the team doesn’t tank down the stretch) gets Michigan off the 8/9 line.

Took Purdue down to the wire twice this season when they’re blowing everyone else out. Hard to call any loss a “great” loss, but this team can compete with anyone when they’re on. If they play like this in March, they can make a run.

We need one more strong player at the 3/4. Brandon Johns and Ignas will help next year, but plenty of season left this year. The guys will clean up the TOs and this group will be scary at tourney time.

Some of you are unbelievable. Michigan just played the #3 team in the country down to the wire at their place where they were shooting lights out. This Michigan team is very good and what we saw tonight was what they look like with some rest. The B1G conference schedule softens up a bit now and they could win out.

My only complaint would be Mathews offense. I expected a bit more out of him but hopefully that will still happen.

It really baffles me how a guy at his level can be so bad dribbling with his left. Like equivalent to a middle schooler. He always goes right, because he can't dribble left. His shooting is pretty awful too. Afraid to say it, but push comes to shove with good teams, hard to win with Matthews and Z on offense. Both can be liabilities. Puts lots of pressure on Mo and MAAR.

Two good (maybe one great?) teams going at it. That was really fun to watch. Disappointed obviously with the result but thought we played very well. MAAR was out of his mind in the second half. I hope we get another chance at them, maybe in the B1G finals.

It's easy to see this team being really good next year and that excites me.

Z works on his decision making and free throw shooting.

Poole steps in for Rahk and works on his defense and handle.

Matthews tightens up his handle and improves his shooting.

Livers improves in his off ball defense.

Wagner improves his defense getting stronger and improves his consistency.

Brooks makes a jump, Teske makes a jump and then add Johns and Iggy to compete immediately.

This team can win out. 25-6 (14-4) would include wins over ranked OSU and @ Maryland. Every game left on the schedule is very winnable. if we do win out, would be some of Beilein's best work! It's the road to March Madness from this point, let's get hot when it matters and grab a 5 seed in the Tourny!

that people are disappointed in that performance. We just lost to the #3, hottest team in the country, on the road by 4.

From my perspective, that was a really entertaining game, and both teams played great ball.

We're gonna be very dangerous come tournament time.

And BTW, I think Beilein is smart to keep giving Simpson chances to figure out his FT stroke. We need our point guard to be able to hit clutch FT's, and sometimes gutting through a tough stretch is necessary.

It's frustrating to see him miss, but I think Beilein knows he's gonna need him come tournament time.
