OT- Wormholes
Since it's the weekend and there's not much in the way of significant sporting events until this afternoon, I took it upon myself to help you pass your time until your upcoming camping trip.
My question to the board is this: What is the best internet wormhole you have ever fallen into?
For those that don't know...an internet wormhole is basically when you mindlessly surf the web and find yourself either balls-deep in something super intriguing or when one web search leads to a string of endless web searches that leaves you wondering where you are and how you got there.
Mine: After hearing about the Bhopal-Union Carbide disaster, my googling led me to the Johnstown Dam disaster, which led me to the Three Mile Island accident. After spending too much time on that, I was then led to Chernobyl; which is where I found a pretty cool video by Discovery Channel called Zero Hour (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITEXGdht3y8). Before I knew it I had too much time invested in this journey and am now pretty much a self-proclaimed man-made disaster expert.

Serial Killers. It's interesting how they all have different MOs even if it is a bit macabre. The explanations from the ones who were caught alive, how they get caught, and the way the defend themselves in court are all so bizarre its hard to stop reading.

I watched Silence of the Lambs not too long ago, which led me to wikipedia and serial killers. I was there for far too long. I went from Jack the Ripper to the serial killer with the most kills per country...

It would be awesome if there were wrestling matches in front of a huge bonfire, with betting on the winners of such matches as
• Brian Cook vs Ed Feng
• LSA2000 vs Franklin Hatchett
• TIMMAY vs WD
• Somewittyname vs RedGreene
• Maizen vs everybody

I googled " 911 building 7" and saw it was about 9/11. Nope. I don't have all day so I refuse to go further.

What these theories amount to is Russian psychological warfare efforts to confuse and divide the American populace. It never appeared to the people who imbide these theories to ask this despite the Russians having a long history of engaging in this type of behavior.(US as well)
They simply accepted it as truth or feasible and went on from there.
Brains that readily accept conspiracy theories do so not out of an effort to "seek the truth" as they claim, but for confirmation of their worldview. Almost invariably the people who embrace a certain conspiracy are predisposed to loathing the purported conspirators. Traditionially, it has been the Jews. It is still the Jews(referred to in code as Zionists and Rothschilds)and the US government.
This is possible because people are stupid or so ignorant of history, science, warfare, and politics that they believe the most cockamamied theories. Instead of seeking to reduce their ignorance through the acquiring insight from experts they resort to watching YouTube videos, visting 4Chan or visiting sites created on AngelFire by mostly lonely white men living in their parents basement or some shithole apartment.

Russia has a long history of this doing this as does the US. They would benefit from the turmoil the dissemination of such theories would cause.

There is nothing in the 17+ years since the event that indicates any sort of Russian involvement in the theories that are offered as alternative explanations.
That nations meddle in each other’s affairs is an afterthought to those who study international affairs. Obviously this happens, but to show so clearly a recency bias to the Russian situation lends truth to the idea that you are likely unable to offer anything that resembles real analysis

Based solely on people's paranoia and ignorance.
Did Russia create this theory? Who knows?
But I do know that Russia is the author the documents of the Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion that purportedly show the minutes of a Jewish cabal who supposedly run the world. They invented these minutes and passed it off as truth. Many people to this day still believe that it is legitimate despite it long ago being proven to be a fraud.
If more people knew things like this they would be far more cynical of conspiracy theories than they actually are.

While it appears at first glance to be a lighthearted dating simulator, it is in fact a psychological horror game that involves heavy use of breaking the fourth wall.
Sounds like some deep shit.
