Unfortunately, I don't see it ending well for Malik. His mother knew how much of maturing he needed. He didn't get that in East Lansing, and his attitude cost him a couple million dollars. It's sad to see a local kid start a downward spiral like this, but this whole "he's just not getting it" has been a concern for 5 years now

and complete lack of respect for the police officers in the video.  Completely agree with Qmatic.

Hope he gets a grip on the opportunity he has and turns it around, but I don't see it ending well for Malik either unless someone he respects intervenes with him and wakes him up.   Maybe its the liquor talking but he seems completely delusional chastising the police in this.  Scary and sad.

He appears to be a young man who has never had repercussions for his actions. He was an insane talent in his early years and there probably a lot of people who didn't want to discipline him out of fears he could lose out on his future. He then went to a college program that became completely out of control and he was enabled to act the way he did. Fast forward now and he's no longer a kid, he's a 22 year old adult without the knowledge of how To behave in the real world. Hope he finally "gets it"

I hate MSU as much as the next mgoer but remember our U has to claim Frank Clark. We have all made mistakes; hell I've made more than anyone on this site probably, but let's just hope he learns from this and becomes a better man. Fuck Sparty, but get well Malik is the point .... I guess

We can compare war stories some other time. Mine mostly involve drugs, alcohol, hookers with a mix of gang violence and foreign affairs. That said, really wish we could be mindful that people fuck up (particularly athletes) and spend less time blowing fog on their university allegiance but rather contribute to a solution toward the problem. I.e. Poverty, violence (cause of poverty), drugs (depression), etc.

Point: dude has a traumatic brain injury. Counterpoint: soaking your brain in alcohol and going to nightclubs is not the recommended treatment for a traumatic brain injury. Some people are just toxic. To think how talented he was and the fact that msu was better without him.

Maybe it would have been different had he come to Michigan, but I am doubting it. It can be argued that behavior comes from his environment socio-economic circumstances, ect.  Perhaps you can say it was just 'Youth.'  In any case, calling police officers bitches and niggas becasue you are rich or threaten to beat their asses if not for handcuffs takes a special kind of mindset.  And I don't know if four years is enough to fix that kind of defect.

While it is kind to wish him luck in getting his life together, I think he has had plenty of opportunities and luck already.

Agreed. I always say we are who we are for a reason, things that happen throughout our young life forever shape us. Not making excuses for the man, just saying I don’t think it would have worked at UM either. There would have been critical moments early on where he would have had to decide real quick whether he would man up, or continue on his path. My educated guess is he probably would have ended up in the doghouse pretty quick, and eventually let go or transfer on somewhere else. I wish him the best of luck, but as u said above he’s had plenty of that already

He has no idea how dumb he is. This young person is going to have a rough life one his playing days are finished. He has multi million dollar athletic talent to go with a 10 cent brain. On a side note, this police officer should be entitled to MM's first game check for being so kind. Tough job.
