He looks pretty bad on film. The reason people talk about him is because Brian likes him for some reason. This is like the people who say that a college bball team should take every 7 footer and figure it out later. There's more to football and basketball than being big and tall.

There was an "analysis" in The Boston Globe that 17% of 7 footers play in the NBA. It is .07% of people 6-6 to 6-8. Take every 7 footer who can walk and chew gum. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bostonglobe.com/metro/regionals/west/2… The take on Falalele was that he was that large and could move well. Football is different than Rugby.

Not entirely true - I don't know if Brian likes, or not.  But he was talked about because he showed up at the Australia sat camp, and then showed up at IMG.  Early talk was that he'd be a UM lock because of the sat camp.  MGoUsers kept clamoring for crootin' updates on him long after Brian stopped talking about him.  And he's refused to go away.  I don't think Ace was ever really impressed...

I've always imagined what it would be like if they would stick him at DT. I know a man at his size is perfect at LT but, with that size and strength, playing DT wouldn't be too hard for him. Cuts out a lot of technique and footwork. Just a thought.

I'd expect him to have a tougher time going against interior OL. A 6'2', 330 lb DT would probably be a lot harder for them to move. Being tall is not a plus.

If he has good speed, not just good speed for a 400 lb man, then maybe he could make a good outside pass rusher without much technique.

I see what your saying with the leverage. It would be a lot easier to get hands on him since he's so much taller. I'm just thinking he'd be a hole(s) stopper since he's so big, and his arms are so long. He could basically control the entirety of the interior line alone, and create double or triple teams to free up space elsewhere. Teams wouldn't really be able to run inside if he and another DT were lined up inside.

Size alone doesn't make you unmoveable. If you give up leverage, you won't be that hard to control. At 6'9" he'd have trouble with leverage if he had good technique. With poor technique he'd be a liability inside.

I'd rather try him at TE.

Committed to them today as well. They won't lack for pounds on that line for sure. Have no idea how good either of them are but they are almost 800 pounds between the two of them. If it works out for Fleck, he would have some beheamoths on that line.

FLECK is going to be a huge headache for us here at Michigan! Fleck w continue to get better and better recruits as the years go on! Give him 1-3 years and they w be a headache for the whole BiG10 before he leaves for a Blue Blood school.

It's been said for a couple years now that DF was the worst OL at IMG. He's a monster of a guy but his game just isn't there. Yet, a guy that large and mobile is a solid project. He's the kind of kid I wish we'd take if we had a lot of room and a steady foundation on the OL. As is, he's just not worth the risk but it wouldn't surprise me at all if a college staff could turn him into a solid or even good player. Dunlap, another commit today, is a much better immediate pickup.

Well, honestly, that's probably his best bet at creating a consistent winner in Minnesota.  He's not going to get the better athletes to go there, but he will pull in some G5 level guys.  With them, and a good power running game, he should be able to put up 7-9 wins/year pretty consistenly.
