ohhh livin on a prayer.

It's probably going to be until 2019/2020 that we have good o line play, so hunker down for the next season and a half at least.

Our terrible, no good, very bad 2016 class delayed it a year longer than Hoke can be responsible for.

It doesn't help that 2018 is a very down year for in-state talent. The top recruit (according to 24/7) is Marquan McCall from Oak Park and he is only ranked 154th nationally. He's currently committed to Kentucky which says something in itself. He is an OG - wonder if Harbaugh will take a run at him late in the cycle if we don't fill the class with additional OL talent. If I recall, it didn't seem like the staff was very high on him.

also, these insiders should get one ball per recruit. would make things much more interesting.

I think its afterglow coming off his visit to Bama. We all knew they were coming at him hard and they would pull out all the tricks to seal the deal. Sounds like he had a great time. At the end of the day, we have put in the work with him from day 1. He and his family are comfortable with our staff and players. We are close enough to his home where his family can see him play. Also, I think most kids would want to be a part of the re-emergence of Michigan rather than the reloading of the same ol thing. Most importantly, we put lots of players in the NFL too. Its a marathon not a sprint. He will be back home, chill out!!!

He's been gone for a while now

Anybody who follows him on twitter could see this by how often he posts about Alabama even though he's supposed to be "100% committed to UofM"

Dude is about to turn 66. Sure he says that he's been part of a team since he was 9 years old and he plans to coach as long as he feels healthy, blah, blah, blah. I think it's time for other coaches (not ours of course) to start negatively recruiting against his age.

You know, one of the best features of this community is that whereas some blogs might freak about such news and forget to negbang, this blog digests and files the news and then complies with the OP's requests. It's a very beautiful thing in some ways.

Just keep winning, and we'll be in good shape by signing day.

LSU, Tennessee, Texas, and UCLA all still have top 15 classes right now. LSU and Tenn commits have been dropping like flies this week. If those four keep imploding like most assume, there is going to be a lot of talent for the taking.

Really don't understand the anxiety over recruits. I have 100% confidence we will be fine/great with recruiting Olineman.  Where I am concerned is the coaching of Oline. As I previously posted, Michigan does fine with Oline recruiting. It is the development I am concerned about.  I thought Frey would really help with coaching. I think it has probably hurt having Drevno/Frey split the Oline.  I am not questioning Harbaugh, but the Oline is the most important group that requires a cohesive approach.  Having two coaches, can't be ideal.  I think they will improve.  I just didn't expect them to be as unpolished against the likes of Purdue and Cinci.

If you don't think the coach makes a HUGE difference look at Don Brown and Mattison.  We will be churning out NFL D lineman as long as both those guys are here.  Last year it was Wormley, Taco and Glasgow.  Next year it will be Mo and Winovich and maybe Monet.  It's all about the coaching and Michigan has not got the Oline coaching yet.  Kids look at that and say, Michigan can get me to the League on the Dline.  Right now, there is not a whole lot to point to of success with Olineman.  Back in the day, we churned out Olineman to the League almost every year.  Look at Michigan right now.  Two areas that are weakest on team in terms of contribution (not depth), Oline and Wide Receivers.  I have 100% conifedence Wide Recievers will be lights out by end of year. I am 100% Oline will be better, but not confident they will be good enought to beat PSU, OSU and WI.

Verbally committed college football recruits have no legally or even morally binding contract with the school to which they're verbally committed. If during the recruiting process they decide somewhere else is a better fit, they're free to leave and hook up with another school. Was it Roy Roundtree that Rich R pirated from Purdue at the last minute before signing day back in 2008? That stuff happens all the time, and one can always say that if the kid had such a tenuous relation with Michigan he probably wouldn't have been a good fit anyway. Let him go and good luck to him.
