No Suspension for Hand
To nobody's surprise, Da'Shawn Hand won't be suspended for the opener

He's pretty consistent when it comes to this stuff - that's why no one is surprised.
....even mork is amazed....

Quite obvious Nick Saban is a terrible role model and really believes winning football games takes prescident over anything. The man should have stayed in the nfl because he really is no good for young people and I am sure unless they can help him win football games they have zero worth in his world. Good coach.... not such a good human.

Now that Mike's story is somewhat cleared up, I'm wondering where the show is going.

dude has always been butthurt throughout most of the series so I'm kind of used of it. I enjoy this season so far, though. Just keep Rachel in the pencil skirts.
I wish Saban was my dad. I could have done anything I wanted.
Remember when his daughter beat the shit out of a sorority sister?
Fuck that guy.
Her punishment was having to get nasty with Lane Kiffin.
....pete already does....
Boys will be Boys
Yeah Pete did think a game was in order. He's probably of the Xmas card list now.

Was it different when Kevin Grady was given a slap on the wrist when he was sleeping behind the wheel of a car that was in traffic? He was the freaking team captain for the season opener that year.
Don't get in the driver's seat when you're so drunk you can't stay awake. This isn't that difficult. And there should be consequences.
The ignition was on. I don't know what more evidence you need to establish an intent to drive.
So why not stretch out in the back seat? Or the passenger seat, where there isn't a steering wheel in your lap?
Sorry, does not pass smell test.
That's horseshit law. If you're in the backseat, no reasonable person would say that you're operating the vehicle.
At 4 AM on July 29th the temperature was 71 degrees. It's possible he turned the car on for the AC and was in the driver's seat for some unexplained reason, but I find the other explanation far more likely, especially because he was so close to campus. Finding a place to sleep would have been extremely easy.
Accuweather says you're wrong. And in any event, why was he in the driver's seat? Why did he go to his car in the first place, considering he was right next to campus?
Get a room then or a cab ride. I'm sure a booster would have reimbursed him. It's drinking and the car is running, doesn't matter where the car is, there should be a very high bar for shit like this. I've lost family to a drunk driver this shouldn't be negotiable.
If you tell your kids to leave the bars at 2 AM, head to their cars, turn on the ignition, and fall asleep...you need to be a better parent.
The problem is that the simple act of turning the ignition while drunk is a crime as it is considered "operating a motor vehicle" in most states - even if you never take the car out of park.
