Agreed.   Michigan fans need to be pulling hard for Alabama to finish undefeated and for OSU to get to The Game without losing again.  The way the B1G West is panning out, Michigan won't get a lot of positive momentum going into the final CFP ranking if they end the season beating a 'damaged' OSU team and a championship game against lackluster NW

Is the band walk to the stadium worth it? If I follow them, do I risk missing the pregame show? Also is there a specific schedule they follow?  I tried to see them in front of Revelli a few years back, saw the drum line show and then everyone left for the stadium.  Is the band supposed to follow immediately after?

Does anyone have advice on where to park/grill?  I know the university has public lots.  Are those first come, first serve?

I was planning to buy stubhub but I also had questions about NU.

Some of the tickets on Stubhub at midfield are listed as "obstructed view."  how would that be?

best parking lot to tailgate in?  Is it first come first served on the lots?  How early should I get there to set up?

06/07/2018 - 3:49pm 1.)  Michigan fans are…

1.)  Michigan fans are extremely embarrassing.  Our fan base is awful.

2.) Football seasons where we aren't good or expected to be good are 100x more fun than seasons like 2016

3.)  Guns should be banned in this country.  Not just assault rifles, but handguns and hunting rifles too.  Hunters can find a new hobby.

05/31/2018 - 10:09am They look great on paper, but

They look great on paper, but I think they will struggle with scoring, particularly shooting.  When things get rough, they will probably lean on Poole or Matthews a little too much.  Worst case scenario, they are probably a 7-10 seed if they can't figure out their shooting.  Best case, probably a 3-5 seed and in contention for the conference regular season title assuming Matthews can clean some things up and Poole makes the leap.  My guess would be they're a 6 seed in the tournament.  Top 10 Adj. defense in KenPom, 50-60 adj. offense.  13-7 in conference

05/10/2018 - 11:15am It's terrifying to me that

It's terrifying to me that Matt Patricia's life is ruined because he was once credibly charged with sexual assault.  This has thoroughly derailed his career and I'm sure he will never coach in the NFL again.  We must band together to defend this man we've never met against these cruel accusations.

Apparently it would be as easy as a basic criminal search in Nexis

We should expect any NFL team making a hire to do their due diligence. “It was an obscure thing to find” does not make Bob Quinn and Rod Wood look good here

05/10/2018 - 7:56am Despicable

What does it say about the Lions that they did not find this when running background on Patricia?

Seems more the exception than the rule.  Plus, Trubisky didn't have to play behind our O-line :)

04/30/2018 - 12:35pm Not snark

How is Shea projected as a top QB when he hasn't even played a full season yet?  The guy's only played 10 games in college.  I'm sure he is a talent but it is very bizarre

04/26/2018 - 12:36pm I see your point, but even

I see your point, but even consider some of the other responses in this thread.  It's not like we're accusing of Reschke of being racist because he flipped someone off in traffic;he used the word that no one should even write down.  We reflexively justify what he did as a"one-time thing" and give the benefit of the doubt that he's not REALLY like this.  If we can't even agree that this guy is racist, then we've lost the word completely.  Apply it to only neo-nazis and Klansmen and people will stop believing it's a real thing.  Then when the  videos of  police abuse or stories of racism come out like they do every week, people will shrug and say there's probably a good reason for it all that doesn't involve racism.  We won't get anywhere tip-toeing around white people's objections to being called out for their poor behavior

04/26/2018 - 11:08am While we are talking about

While we are talking about Residence Inn Ann Arbor, could someone explain the running joke from the podcast about the varying number of conference rooms? I love inside jokes and I’d love to be included in one someday

04/26/2018 - 10:59am I would absolutely use a

I would absolutely use a dreaded "blanket statement" and say that any white man who has called a black man the N word is a racist.  It's wild that you can use one of the worst, most racially-motivated words against someone and still have jabronis defend you as 'not racist'.

04/26/2018 - 10:53am Maybe an unpopular opinion: I

Maybe an unpopular opinion: I think the Lions RB depth is just fine.  Coaching and OL play hamstring how good any running back can be on this team.  I'm hoping a non-Caldwell head coach and the addition of quality OL the past few offseasons can solve the issue of the Lions run game

04/26/2018 - 10:42am In round 1, I would really

In round 1, I would really love to see them draft a D-lineman.  Ziggy is on the franchise tag this year, Ngata is gone and the Lions pass rush has been awful since 2014.  A running back seems like a stretch for a first round pick but it wouldn't be devastating.  Fine with about any other position besides OL

04/26/2018 - 10:18am Thanks for the response.  My

Thanks for the response.  My point is that we need to expand the definition of what racism is.  If we only save it for people burning crosses in white robes, then we aren't talking about it at all.   The truth is that many of those "passive" participants are quite satisfied with the racial hierarchy in this country enough to angrily defend any sort of discourse as "divisive" and "not helpful."  I would say it IS useful to call out racism where you see it, even if it makes people irritated.  Civil Rights is never popular, even MLK (who is lionized now) had a 66% disapproval rating in 1966 per Gallup.

04/26/2018 - 10:10am Who is judge jury and

Who is judge jury and executioner?  Is this a court of law?  The kid called his teammate the N word.  He is a racist piece of shit.  He showed his true colors. While no one is defending use of the word itself, to defend it as simply an "angry outburst" or wondering why anyone can't say the word should not be a natural response.

04/26/2018 - 9:33am It's offensive for a white

It's offensive for a white person to say it because it calls back to a time when black people were treated as property.  Black people use it to reclaim ownership of the word.

04/26/2018 - 9:31am If this idea of "true"

If this idea of "true" racists is real, how do you reconcile that with the idea of structural racism in America?  How is having "biases against other races" not racist?  Why is the idea of being called racist so offensive?

04/26/2018 - 9:20am ITT:  A surprising amount of

ITT:  A surprising amount of people defending the use of the N-word as a slur as a one-off thing in the heat of the moment.  Also deriding the term "racist" as a hurtful insult.  What a time to be alive

It sounds like you will be able to download other peoples' work and import it into your own system.  Similar to roster downloads for the NCAA games

04/23/2018 - 9:31am I don't think people are

I don't think people are demanding an apology from Jay, rather pointing and saying "what a tonedeaf jackass for thinking that's funny."

04/23/2018 - 9:20am Idk, the "father as protector

Idk, the "father as protector of his daughter's sexuality" says more about the father than about horny teens.  Open and honest conversations are fun but that's not very manly I guess

How many of those games will match market value on the secondary markets for the get-in price?  2?

04/19/2018 - 3:14pm It is a shame we only get

It is a shame we only get Purdue once.  Beilein vs Painter is one of the more fun tactical matchups to watch in the B1G. What a damn shame

04/17/2018 - 11:11am Change the targeting rules.

Change the targeting rules.  Leading with the helmet is a 15 yard penalty and the review occurs post-game to determine if a player is suspended for the following week.  If a player leads with his helmet and causes significant injury, he must be held out until the other player returns to play.

04/17/2018 - 11:06am This is my #1 answer as

This is my #1 answer as well.  I'll gladly sit through tv timeouts, mascot races, and replay reviews but I have a hard time justifying increasing costs of attending games.  Teams recognize what they're doing and they still don't care.  I held Lions season tickets since 2014 but dropped them before last season they increased the price by 20 percent in 3 seasons.  Michigan charges insane seat license fees and you even have to "donate" to even have the privilege of buying season tickets.  Eventually all the blue hairs will stop going to games and I doubt that demand will keep up.  We aren't too far removed from the Retail Activation days

04/16/2018 - 12:58pm Spring games aren't really of

Spring games aren't really of any value to fans besides learning who on the roster is 'on the outs', like a WR spotting snaps at CB or a QB not playing.  Hype from the game is always insane so it is actually a little relieving not fawning over that 6th WR on the depth chart who showed amazing hands or the 5th year senior who is "really ready to put it all together this year."  The only spring lesson we've ever learned happened in retrospect when we didn't realize how bad our 2009 defense was

04/13/2018 - 3:09pm ND was really good last year

ND was really good last year and MSU is a rock fight.  I dont think the offense will make a huge leap this year, but that's just one nobody's opinion.  Shea is exciting, but the Mgocommunity was doing the same exact things last year.  "Wilton is out, but Okorn is going to better anyway.  Okorn is out, but Peters is going to be better anyway. Peters struggled in the bowl game, but at least we have a better QB coming in."

Question for cord-cutters:  I like to follow along on Twitter while I watch sports.  Is the feed delay with your service significant enough that I would need to stop this in order to not be spoiling every play ahead of time?

Never underestimate the guys who don’t get to play. They can be as big of leaders as any starter. Thanks for all the hard work, Brent!

04/10/2018 - 10:41am Isaiah Wilson is a good

Isaiah Wilson is a good counter.  I would agree that we would have a better chance with those type of situations but overall I don't think it changes our classes that dramatically.

04/10/2018 - 10:37am I take 'local' to mean

I take 'local' to mean 'within the region'.  Most of USCs recruits come from the west coast.  LSU recruits extremely well but they mostly get kids from the south.  It is difficult to convince a high school kid and his family that they will be comfortable far from home when the US has so many cultural differences between regions.

04/10/2018 - 10:19am Influence is subjective.  Of

Influence is subjective.  Of course it influences decisions, but it's not the one deciding factor that it's made out to be.  Michigan opening up the pocket book doesn't propel them to a top 5 class every year just by itself.  Do you think Otis Reese would've come to Michigan if he were being paid to (presuming Georgia was also paying)?

04/10/2018 - 9:32am They probably recruit at

They probably recruit at about the same level with some extra blue chips here and there.  It wouldn't make a big difference.  It's not like money is THE deciding factor for a lot of kids.  Most high school kids want to stay closer to home and find a place where theyre comfortable.  Money is just sweetener when it comes to recruiting the top talent

03/31/2018 - 10:09am Love the enthusiasm, and not

Love the enthusiasm, and not lumping you in here since you mentioned getting along with you neighbors, but I've sat behind enough braying jackasses who are "helping" the team with their passion to know that these people tend to be awful section companions who are overly territorial, hypermasculine and aggressive. Some of the responses in this thread highlight those traits.

IMO fans GREATLY overestimate their impact on games.  Noise can obviously be a huge asset, but the team is not going to win or lose on a neutral Final Four court (which we already know will be a lot of UM fans) because of the crowd.

03/31/2018 - 9:37am You are a passionate fan.

You are a passionate fan.  Everyone around you is a weiner.  Sprinkle in some of that "I'm a standing fan and the team needs me" vibe that always comes up in these posts and "Phyllis in row 29 better be standing and loud otherwise we might LOSE" for flavor.  What did I miss?

It's fun to be passionate!  I'm not knocking that.  Just have some respect for the people around you.  Not everyone goes to live sporting events because they want to be loud and obnoxious.  Some people just enjoy seeing games in person

03/31/2018 - 9:21am Should I Stand? guide:-Is

Should I Stand? guide:

-Is everyone else standing?   Then yes, feel free to stand

-Is there a tradition where fans usually stand at a point in the game (e.g. until the home team scores)  Then yes, feel free to stand

-Is it a critical moment in the game where excitement is building?  Then yes, feel free to stand

-Is it the first 10 minutes of the event and you and your buddy are the only two people standing in your section?  Then no, read the room.  Instead of saying, "there should be a quiet section of the stadium for all these people who CANT HANDLE MY VIBES", maybe you should go to the "loud" section i.e. the last row of any section in any stadium.  Stand to your heart's desire.  Practice jumping jacks.  Do that weird "let's go" up and down arm motion even though you're the only one doing it.  Go crazy.
