the sad, sad platform on which people think the voice of a few is the voice of many.  It pains me everytime I see an article by a lazy journalist to the effect of "The internet hates puppies" and then screengrabs two people saying they hate puppies on twitter as if it's somehow representative of some larger group sentiment.

As a market researcher, few things bother me more.

as I love listening to wtka on my home I would switch back to 97.1 in a heart beat if Valenti left... and if it does happen 97.1 better do the smart thing and put Stoney and Wojo back together for the drive time...

Stoney and Wojo was the best Detroit sports talk show of all time. Even with WDFN's crappy signal, they used to kill 1270/97.1 in the ratings. The great thing about that show was that they were pro's and had interviews, unlike Valenti who just spews all kinds of hatred towards everyone and yet never has the balls to interview them. He's basically a shock-jock who ripped his shtick from Jeff Moss and the DetroitSportRag. Which isn't really surprising since he tried to get a job with them back in the day.... http://detroitsportsrag.com/mike-valenti-wanted-a-gig-at-the-detroitsportsrag-com/

I don't know, Valenti and Foster were killing it when they got moved from middays to afternoons.  I remember flipping back and forth between the two stations and while Mike and Terry were breaking down matchups in the NBA playoffs, Stoney and Wojo were taking votes on on a favorite potato chip tournament bracket or something stupid like that.  I love Stoney, but he's better suited for the morning.

Remember his "MAKE PLAYS!" meltdown after Sparty blew a three touchdown lead against Notre Dame? Granted that was entertaining. But then he stormed off afterwards with 3 1/2 hours left in his show. Would WFAN put up with that? Time for him to leave anyway. And take Pat Caputo with you.

My brother loves a couple houses away from him. If he decides to leave we will put a Michigan flag on his lawn nex to the for sale sign.

Is Sean Beligean on these days ? Didn't his station go out of business ? Maybe he can replace Mike and have it go from a Sparty homer to one of the few rational Spartys

Because I was incredibly curious hearing the main voice of Detroit sports do another network.

He definitely would fit in well there. Again, I know people don't want to hear this because of facts and all, but he knows a shit ton about sports. The history, structure of teams, every freaking owner and component of nearly every team.

Hate him all you want, and a lot of you do, but to deny that he's one of the best we have in terms of talent is stupid. If he does leave, the ticket is going to have a serious decision about how to replace him. Because if they get it wrong, that station could lose a lot of listeners.

He was pretty abrasive, but for how young he was, you can tell he was a natural behind the mic. Granted he's cranked the douche meter up several notches since going to Detroit, but he is still pretty solid when he tones it down off shock jock mode IIRC, mad dog and him didn't get along the best, at least mad dog gave that impression when Valenti left. But he did go on and on saying how talented he was, and how he was going to go places. If he gets that job, it will be interesting to see if he can stick to all pro sports, all the time. It will probably kill him to not talk about msu during hoops season

Maybe he can take his new partner Mike Sulley, who is a winey little bitch who is hard to listen too !

Valenti is the worst kind of sports radio - the conversation is just him yelling at Terry or yelling at callers. Even First Take makes more sense than Valenti does when going on an anti-Michigan tirade. He wouldn't be missed but he isn't going anywhere. He has filled in on WFAN before. Without the Michigan/MSU crutch, he would lose half his shtick.
