Auston Robertson Was Whistleblower in Alleged MSU Football Assault
Auston Robertston (Yes, that Auston Robertson) was the player who told Mark Dantonio about the alleged sexual assaults involving three Michigan State football.

You may recall, Robertson has since been kicked off the team for a separate sexual assault that occurred while the initial investigation was underway. Here is the link to that story from April.

- So to recap, Robertson was present for two different alleged sexual assualts in Spring semester
- Understood that the first alleged assault was wrong but then assaulted a girl months later anyway (while his girlfriend waited in the car)
Update: MSU Trustee says he mispoke. Although people on this board implicated Robertson months ago. I wonder if anyone can FOIA who Dantonio met with on the 16th by checking his emails and or calendar.

Where in my post do you read that I have any? Empathy aint sympathy.
One could imagine what it'd be like now:
"Uh, hi Coach. I need to talk to you about something"
"Oh no . . . WHAT???"
"I got a DUI this past weekend."
"OH, THANK CHRIST!!!"
So amazingly true!
Hahaha.
That reminds me of when the Baylor coach got arrested a few months ago for hiring a prostitute. Made little news because Hey, at least it was consensual.
What a messed up world.
You will reap what you sow
Yeah, this is what I'm wondering about too. So Robertson was the first to tell Dantonio, ok, so what? I mean Dantonio would have found out soon anyway, right?
but there is WAY more to this story than is being reported,,,It just all smells rotten...There is something being covered up...cant quite put my finger on it and maybe itll never be uncovered but as they say Something is rotten in Denmark/East Lansing

is no question about it. There are pieces to the puzzle missing. The reactions by the Michigan State athletic department, administration, and coaches are a strange mix of hyperbole and abatement. They both confirm that the culture is rotten but will not address it as systemic. So confusing. It is hard sometimes to spot the truth but it is fairly easy to spot a lie. Like you said, we may never know what exactly it is, but something is up.
for MSU was just really really bad luck, on the heels of the Baylor mess and MSU's own bigger problem of Dr. Nasser. MSU had to really be thorough, dot i's, cross t's and cover all bases. Handle this wrong and lots of jobs were at stake and the public percepetion of MSU (which they have fought like hell to improve the last 2 decades) would suffer.
He had multiple incidents in High School as well, before ever arriving to EL. Clearly a disturbed, unstable young man.
Did not see that coming.
What a piece of shit
So the trustee providing the vote of confidence for "Coach D" thought it was appropriate to name the whistleblower? We're all good bro!
The Bobby Williams era was the defining zany MSU era, with Jeff Smoker's drug habit disemboweling a team that had looked like a conference contender. That season was nuts over there, and by midseason they were basically laying down to everyone they played. We could've scored 80 if we wanted to.
EDIT: Things are quite a bit worse than they were then. The antimatter containment vessel has been breached.
AND, reports are out that it was Glenn Winston that reported Robertson. This just doesn't stop.
/s
He could be bi-polar, a sociopath, on drugs, bad drunk, etc... There are a lot of reasons that he did what he did without getting an implicit approval by Dantonio.
Doesn't make it less bizarre but, again, that is too much of a stretch for me.
If he didn't rely on talking about MSU/UM, he would be absolutely nothing. His shtick is annoying. Unfortunately there isn't another station in town to listen to, that I am aware of.
don't know how long he will be around if MSU does a faceplant, competitively. So much of his shtick had become just MSU arrogance toward Michigan that I don't know if there is enough left if the are bad and stay bad. He really would not have any reason to stay in this market at that point.
He's been here for like 13-14 years, during the best period of MSU football in many of our lifetimes. If they have several consecutive losing seasons and more off the field drama, he will just ignore them completely or will rag on them constantly. His MSU fans will grow displeased.
Literally listen to anything else than the dreg that occurs on 97.1 The Shit-ket.
Don't have satellite so I've been doing podcasts sometimes.
Honestly I just listen to music on my commutes to and from work now. Can't take it anymore.
Well that's pretty crazy. Was Mitch Lyon's legally able to disclose this information?
This would be the ultimate in "what the fuck is going on here": if the woman in both the Robertson case and the King/Corley/Vance case is the same woman. I know it seems beyond far fetched but weird things happen in criminal cases.
Also, it's pretty much a guarantee Robertson is never going to testify in the case against King/Corley/Vance. No lawyer worth their salt is going to let him do that with his own case pending. The absence of his testimony may be one of the factors contributing to the length of time the prosecutor's office took to file the case. If the victim can't recall enough of what happened it would be a difficult case to win without other witnesses or the video being absolutely clear cut.
my lawyer wife hates it when i use that argument.
but i mean, several hundred episodes has to count for SOMETHING
In all likeliihood, it contributes significantly to your wrong assumptions about the American criminal justice system.
I wouldn't be surprised if Corley and Vance are offered pretty significant plea deals to testify against King (Both are looking at 15 years max for their charges). King is already screwed for taking the video, but we'll have to see if it shows whether or not it was a consenual act. Meanwhile, Corley and Vance weren't in the video so it might be harder to prove. Could get all 3 with convictions that way.
