Crystal Balls not looking good regarding Mr. Solomon

Submitted by Losher on
With some content out there on the internet right now talking about Aubrey Solomon it seems like Alabama is about to add another large piece to their class. Along with the bama guys saying they lead for Solomon the CB trend is now all in favor of bama. Even all the Michigan insiders have moved their picks to bama. All the talk about having a chance to bring him back into the fold has since disappeared. This is a huge miss for Michigan at a position of need for the next year. Let's just hope this isn't a trend for the rest of the guys on the board and Michigan can close out with some of the top guys in the country

One look at the recently updated depth charts by class and there is a huge hole behind Mone and Hurst. Same can be said for OG... Seems to go against the logic that champion teams are built from the inside out.

is Bredeson-Cole-Ruiz-Onwenu-Ulizio. I think Cole will play guard in the NFL and Ruiz can defy odds to start at C since he is very developed and an EE. That lineup gives me more confidence than this year's line once Newsome went down.

Bredeson-Cole-Kugler-Onwenu-JBB. Ruiz, Ulizio as backup. Biggest question marks are the pickup of Filiaga, Becton, and Slaton, and then Grant's injury. I don't see Herbert or Hall getting any significant play. I don't think Wheatley Jr. will play o-line either. Good news is that Ruiz and recruits can replace Cole and Kugler for 2018, so no emergencies for the next few years after this, unless they all flop.

Damn! Too bad to lose him, but not a huge surprise and hard to call this a miss as the deck always seemed stacked against M from the start. They need a nose tackle type and seems options are getting thin, will be interesting to see that play out.

And he doesn't like cold weather:

Side note: Solomon doesn’t like cold weather. He said it makes his joints stiff. He’s originally from California. He said he believes he could endure the cold weather in Michigan, but did bring up a fear of sub-zero temperatures.

Also mentioned he won't be deciding on signing day (may be into March).  He ain't coming.  'Bama gets another.

is the longer Bama stays loaded, the longer they keep OSU away from the title. For as good as OSU has been in the last decade, they have only won it all once....and on a fluke.

I don't know that you can call Soloman a "miss" as it's hard to think what they could have done differently other than the staffer who didn't take him out of a thank you letter excel sheet. NT recruiting for '17 could be a miss but we can't say that until signing day and really won't know for a year or two. I'm higher on the OTs already committed than most but getting a Filiaga would be big. Anyone else wonder how much impact the recruiting numbers are having on M? I'm sure other schools are saying "they already have a ton of OL/DL" in selling early playing time. Harbaugh and his staff absolutely needed to get more big bodies but that may be a side effect.

We are going full court press on Tufele and Austin Jackson and believe we have Gay if he qualifies.

Reminds me a lot of last year, a few guys we thought we had fizzle out, we land the #1 recruit and a combination of the above mentioned, to go along with one guy NO ONE is talking about.

This is huge because the only other DT Michigan is recruiting is Tufele, and I personally doubt he will come to Michigan. So at a position of need we will most likely strike out this year. Next year we need an instant impact DT now

Could OSU take Tufele and Marvin Wilson? It sounded like they were one of the leaders for Wilson yesterday on the UAAA game. Pretty sad when we have to hope that Bama and OSU don't have room in their class for our top targets.
