Hell of a season

Submitted by GoBlueBill on

I know, the season didnt end up the way we all wanted it to. But we are so  much better off now than under Hoke and Rich Rod .

We lost 3 games by a total of 5 points .

Look at the whole season , dont just look at the last part .

Dont complain and cry because we didnt win every game .

I consider this season a  success and I hope it is leading to better things .

I hope everyone enjoys the off season for Football and I'll see you all next Fall .

I have the same feelings about Harbaugh vs OSU. This was our best chance, and we blew it. Next year will be tough because we will be a young team. Going 0-3 vs OSU would not be good for the perception of the program. If he goes 0-4 or 0-5, people will really start to question him. He understands it better than anyone and he will work harder than anyone to achieve his goals. I think next year's team will have the same trajectory that the 2015 team had. Slow start with a strong finish. Harbaugh will get the most out of next year's team.

Thank you Wee-Bey! Four to five plays cost us our season. I've been drinking, so I'm in no mood to be classy. Fuck that kick off return, fuck that 92 yard pass play. Fuck the four letter for acting like Cook dominated the whole game. Fuck our offense for not showing up our last two games under the 5 yard line. But fuck everyone that doubts our squad. B1G Champs next year, book it, or I eat a lemon on the blog. WD screen shot this for the record.

Good season better then most expected I bet from early season predictions. Next year we will be young but we will have more athletes and speed. The oline will be bigger and he'll can't be any worse. Regarding next year I don't think Jim should be in on the offense. He needs to higher a guy with Kiffins mind for offense. Not anything else like that Dick. But for our offense to succeed the way it is we need dominate line play and we just don't have it yet. Would love a running QB would have made a difference in tonights game. Pissed cause we didn't come out ready to play it seems. Every big game Michigan performs this way under Harbaugh. He is a great coach but really be honest who have we beaten in 2 years that is worth saying we beat.

we're higher than their record and the season's outcome. Michigan plays for Big 10 championships and bowl game victories. It was an exciting season and one of hope and promise but in the end we fell short. Now looking forward to 2017.

Love the team but 10-3 with no bit ten title, no bowl victory and losing 3 of the last 4 games...I just can't say it was a hell of a season.  It was a fun ride but after a few years we'll probably look back at the 2016 team like the 2006 team - good team but struggled at the end of the season and nothing really to show for it.

This team played over there heads all season because of our superior coaching. Besides a few players, we simply don't have the talent yet. Some of us have been saying it for years but all those highly ranked Hoke classes were vastly overrated. Besides maybe two drives I'm speechless about how bad Speight Looked tonight... So many missed opportunities. Ending the season like this makes me sick. But the future is bright for sure. Praying that Brandon peters or Mccafferey can beat out Speight next year.

One look at how our oline played and how QB looked for 3 quarters, and all those missed tackles could have told you that. This team did have some great talent. Lewis, the DLine, Butt, and Peppers are talents superior to every power 5 program. But the rest of the team as of this year could be found at other power 5 programs, or even sub par. Next year will be a reloading year, but a lot of good is in place.Just stay patient.

Is it superior coaching or good experienced talent? Because I am pretty sure that when the NFL draft comes around we are about to have 10+ guys drafted which may be the most of any school.

I mean, OSU and Alabama are more talented than us. Not sure like an FSU, Clemson or Washington is more talented, maybe, it's fairly close. I am certain that Iowa is less talented.

We are exactly where we were last year and next year we are going to be hurting for experienced talent. And I'm sorry, but until we beat o$u I am not going to be the doofus who sits around and continues to say "hurr durrrr this is the year!" We've been saying that for the better part of 12 years. Until I physically see with my own two eyes a win against o$u, I will automatically assume that game is a loss. I have no other choice.

We are one more 10-3 season away from the 5-7 shitstorm of Hoke's last year. We are one more year closer to stocking the roster with 30 guys who are hard core football players. We are one year farther along in rebuilding the culture into a group of 100% competition driven. A lot of the near misses and talent gaps are fully on Hoke's final 12-18 months. The program was SOFT. We have endured incredible bad luck and long string of "almost" plays to finish games. It will turn.

Fuck that, they lost three of the last four all of them with late game leads that they blew. Hard to see this as anything but a disappointment. Good season and something to build on, nothing to be embarrassed over at all but the Grand Bull Moose of missed opportunities and I can't help but wonder if that opportunity comes back or if this type of failure in the clutch is just built into the program.

We won exactly nothing this year and looked worse as the season went on. We had an entire month to prepare for this game and the offense looked like ass basically the entire time. Not sure how you call it a great season. I guess because we beat MSU in a year when everyone beat MSU?

Sure, we only lost 3 of the last 4, but they were to 3 of the 4 best teams we played. Clearly nowhere near an elite team. We have a long way to go.

as we basically had OSU in Columbus, obliterated "#5" PSU, beat #10 Wisconsin, and coulda/shoulda beat a pretty good FSU team. Seems like we belong solidly in the 5-10 range

I'd say we are near elite but not there yet. The defense is there, but the offense is not and we seem to lack that killer instinct / swagger / intangibles that the best of the best seem to have to gut out these big games. We still fold.

Unlike Michigan, Penn State beat Ohio State. Penn State went to the Big 10 championship. Penn State won the Big 10 championship. Penn State now in the Rose Bowl. Michigan shit the bed. Loss at Iowa. Lose again to Ohio State. Lose to Florida State.

Penn State went against the big boys and won.

Michigan didn't.

Michigan got worse as the season progressed.

Don't bother negging me. You know it's true.

I agree with what you said. It's going to take at least two maybe three years to start competing for a NC. No real game breakers on the offense besides Evans. I can't remember the last time Michigan had a serviceable O-Line? D should be good next year, but with games vs Penn St, Wisky, and Indy on the road. I think the team will take a step back before they go forward. I honestly think Harbaugh need a mobile QB. Not a run/pass Denard type. Just one that can keep the D honest. It's a great weapon to have when a defense has to account for a possible scramble.

Look, next year is going to be 9-3 at best, so at that point they can either have a big year in '18 when the young talent has had time to mature or they can blow another great opportunity and then the program will plateau well behind Ohio State. That to me is troublesome. Sorry if it's not the hugs and rainbows you were looking for.

  • Penn State got OSU and Iowa at home
  • I don't even know what the Big 10 champ argument means. M, OSU, or PSU all probably would've beat Wisconsin
  • Penn State went against the big boys and won? So they beat Wisconsin like we did and they played a real close game against OSU like we did? Notable difference being we beat PSU by 39
  • I will neg you because all this revisionism is going to look dumb when USC has their way with Penn State

You said "Penn State went against the big boys and won". On the field, Penn State has looked no better than we have. You don't think we would've looked vastly better with PSU's simple schedule?

OSU, Iowa, MSU at home. Only tough road game saw them lose by 39. They won a tiebreaker and got to Indy and beat the same Wisconsin team we did. So yes, they won more trophies than we did because our 2nd loss was to a Big Ten team and theirs wasn't.

You seem to be arguing that Penn State had this marvelous season where they "Beat the big boys" but all they've done that we didn't was win the narrow OSU game plus the fact that we beat them by 39 head-to-head.
