I think we all said that multiple times. Here's that yard given back to Barrett. Down at the 20, spotted at the 21

Another yard for Barrett. Action is just above Stribling (#8) Forward progress stopped by Ben Gedeon at the 27, spotted at the 28

I hope you read this (though I understand you probably won't see it)
PLEASE do a UFR of the Refereeing in this game
The Mgoblog way: play by play, unbiased (to the extent possible)
A deep thorough article on this will get national attention (perhaps)
and could help to lead to change
Signed,

i am sick of letting go - see my snakebit "diary post" for details. just sick of it.

Play nice with others.(night games make it hard on the opposition)
Let the other kids have your toys. (and home games)
Don't say anything when others take advantadge of you.(officiating was fair and balanced)
Don't call attention to the fact you're getting screwed over - it's unseemingly. (pretend like everything's ok - nothing to see here)
I so wish Hackett was still here. I guaren-fucking-tee you he wouldnt roll-over to the B1G like Manual did yesterday.
Someday I hope Michigan gets tired of being the laughing stock-punching bag for the league and actually does something about it. And I've been saying for three days all Harbaugh has to do is ask one simple question and then stand back:
"Why were those particular officials chosen and under what criteria where they selected?"
Should be an easy answer. There must be some methodology in place for referee selection for big games - what is it?
November 29th, 2016 at 9:14 AM ^
Easy answer:
What crew can we send out there that gives the BIG Ten the greatest chance at more money in bowl season?
I don't think the Delaney asked these refs to cheat. I think he just knew they would and was willing to roll the dice the preferred outcome would happen.

We're the, "nice guys," of college football, and we will continue to be so.
Unfortunately, we do not live in an era that favors, "nice guys," and that is also likely to continue.
November 29th, 2016 at 12:09 PM ^
be a nice guy or continue that approach.
November 29th, 2016 at 1:06 PM ^
...forward that memo to our AD.
Alabama, OSU, and USC are willing to do whatever it takes to win. Are we?
November 29th, 2016 at 3:56 PM ^
Really? I'm getting crushed on another reputable sports board for being "whiny" and "delusional" as part of the UM fanbase. I'm as pissed as I've ever been about anything ever but I'm afraid this perception will cost us any chance we had at CFP4.
November 29th, 2016 at 10:09 AM ^
Look, I get it. Some of you say, let it go, it's over. I would often do this after a game. Others are still angry (like me in this case).
But there will always be the feeling that we got jobbed. If Brian does a careful, painstakingly detailed UFR of this, we will find some measure of the "truth". Who knows, maybe they let holding go both ways, and we only notice the one? Why not get a definitive answer on how the refs did, instead of vague suspicions and biased sampling of a few plays?
Only then will I be able to put this to rest. Until then, I may never sleep peacefully again.
November 29th, 2016 at 11:24 AM ^
If you "may never sleep peacefully again" -- why don't you use that exra time and do the damn referee UFR yourself?
November 29th, 2016 at 1:54 PM ^
because i don't know enough to do it?
because it wouldn't mean the same as when it comes from this blog?
etc.
also, i just said "sleep peacefully" - i haven't given up on sleep, yet.

Here's another missed call that I've yet to see anyone mention. Late hit on Speight on 3rd down in the beginning of the fourth quarter. #59 doesn't even touch Speight until after the ball has been released for a good second and shoves him to the ground while getting tackled by another player.

I would embed, but I'm not sure how.
November 29th, 2016 at 9:51 AM ^
What is really nice about this non-call, is that Lewis (#59) actually deflected the ball and thus knew 100% that it was out of Wilton's hands and released, and then gave the extra "Unecessary" push while Wilton is being tackled. Fuck Ohio and that entire officiating crew. I hope the whole crew develops some rare disease that makes them shit on themselves everyday for the rest of thier lives, like they shit all over the Michigan kids on Saturday.

On the fake punt stop, good thing Glasgow is a Glasgow and got off that "block" as Herbstreit would say... Hubbard has a hand around his neck and is using his other hand to pull Glasgows arm. No call.
November 29th, 2016 at 5:34 AM ^
there are two holds on the fake punt. Bush is also being held. OSU player is behind him and holding his shoulder pads.
November 29th, 2016 at 7:35 AM ^
November 29th, 2016 at 12:37 AM ^
Here DeVeon Smith is behind Mason Cole (#52), being tackled by Baker (17). He is diving still in the air to the 17 yard line and his balls (his gonads not the football) reach the 18 yard line before he lands.
Ball is spotted at the 18 yard line, at least a yard short. Simple mistake, confused nuts for foozeballs.

Feeling the same way, overwhelmed by how bad it was. The more I see of it the more damning it becomes to me. All the calls went OSU's way the penalties, the spots, the no-calls all of it went their way. 2 penalties for 6 yards? Seriously?? How does that not look like collusion? Every spot I've seen mentioned so far always seems to be generous for OSU and stingy for Michigan. It's making my eyes bleed.
I too wish Brian would put together a comprehensive list of all of the legitmate bad calls, no calls and bad spots, Not the ticky tack stuff but the egregious errors.
November 29th, 2016 at 12:54 AM ^
Sad part is I wasn't looking for holding or hands to the face, only watching for the spotting of the ball... but it was so glaring I couldn't miss it. Oops, dont tell the refs that.
Action at the top left of the screen, 74 hands to the face. I can understand this going uncalled..until I consider the face mask penalty on Cole.
November 29th, 2016 at 12:51 AM ^
Again, wasn't even looking for these, was trying to see if I was crazy about the spots or just high at the time.
Action center of screen. 77 hands to Gary's face (#3)
November 29th, 2016 at 1:10 AM ^
OSU OL Prince (#59) with the hold at top right of screen
November 29th, 2016 at 1:13 AM ^
OL Prince (#59) with another hold at the top of the screen two plays later
November 29th, 2016 at 1:15 AM ^
But Prince with yet another hold (#59) top of the screen

Apologies for my shitty embedding job with these shots. I'm not the most technically savvy person but thought some of you would like to see these.
I rewatched the game quickly to see if I was crazy for thinking we had been shorted on spots and they had been given generous spots. There were multiple instances where that was the case. And, along the way I happened to catch what I thought were glaring hands to the face and holding penalties that went uncalled (which I wasn't watching for, but they jumped off the screen). I did not include the obvious 2 PIs and unneccesary roughness penalty on Mike Weber that went uncalled because I have seen images or GIFs already posted.
Background, I have no referee training, so please correct me if I am wrong in any of these. And disclaimer- I'm not presenting this as proof the referees favored OSU, but as reason for someone more qualified to take a closer look.
Aside: There is no use focusing on the OT spot. For every view that shows the line to gain was not made, there is another showing that it was. No one knows because there is no camera view directly down the 15 yard line. The initial spot has to stand in this case whether it was deemed good or short. Focusing on the spot only dilutes Michigan's argument. Rather, the focus should be on the blatant missed calls and lopsided nature of the officiating. Also, the team shouldn't have put themselves in a position to have the referees impact the final outcome. With that said, the referees need to be held accountable for their performance, just as every other professional is (yes, even weathermen and women)
Takeaway: it is definitely worthwhile for someone with more football rules experience and technical savvy to do a thorough run down evaluating both sides. Also, upon further review this should not be the last of the refereeing threads. I can't spend more time on this so someone else take it from here.

"Aside: There is no use focusing on the OT spot. For every view that shows the line to gain was not made, there is another showing that it was."
I disagree:
Pretty definitive to me.
November 29th, 2016 at 2:40 PM ^
but can we stop saying Michigan "shot themselves in the foot" or "could have done more" or "wouldn't have been in that position if they'd played better"......osu made their share of mistakes, fucked up their share of plays, missed their share of scoring opportunities too. WTF everybody??? Coaches called plays. Players tried to execute those plays. Officials officiated those plays. They all made mistakes. Whose execution affected this game the most?
DUH!
And we"re supposed to "LET IT GO". Not me, not for the players, not for the coaches, not for the 45 years I've been a season ticket holder and fan and certainly not for the future.
