Thank you Mrs. Branham - this is a very nice post.

All kidding aside, this guy is a player and the last time we had a midwest track star at WR it turned out pretty well for us.

07/16/2018 - 3:19pm Why do the Scottish put 239…

Why do the Scottish put 239 beans in their chili?

If not, it would be too farty

07/13/2018 - 1:20pm Now if I could only learn…

Now if I could only learn how to express my happiness in GIF form on the new site, I would be all set

07/02/2018 - 2:15pm I think it is you that doesn…

I think it is you that doesn't understand the terms you are using.

First, your statement seems to apply that Brian (whom BTW, I doubt very much reads every stupid comment / thread on this board) "ascribes" to a certain brand of politics and then that he only enforces the no politics rule against that particular brand of politics -- um ok. Probably not the point you are trying to make, but the point you appear to be making nonetheless.

Second, you claim there is a double standard -- I call out that there is not a double standard just because you don't like the standard. You offer no evidence of said double standard, then claim that I don't understand the term.

You are correct - with logic like that, we really can't have much of a debate.

The court has been expanded in the past. Last time I checked "our Republic" is still here

07/02/2018 - 12:44pm Yes it is, especially with…

Yes it is, especially with so much at stake. Most people are of the belief that the next supreme court justice will be somebody who works against the following causes / interests: women's rights, women's reproductive rights, rights of minorities, rights of immigrants, collective bargaining rights, reform of political gerrymandering, and many other topics. Whether they have an impact on all of these items remains to be seen, but that is a widely help perception.

But I'm supposed to be happy because they're from Michigan and went to the same university as I did. Give me a fucking break

07/02/2018 - 12:11pm Just because you do not…

Just because you do not agree with "the standard" with which moderators edit and/or remove board posts does not make it a "double standard". So yes I will debate the presence of a double standard.

07/02/2018 - 10:42am There are plenty of sites…

There are plenty of sites where you can espouse your opinion on what is political vs. not and exactly what you think on those particular topics. This is not one of them because the site owner and moderators (and I'd bet a majority of the users) prefer it that way. Move along

The old site wasn't "where it should be" ever -- still loved using the app

06/25/2018 - 5:53pm Maybe Meyer?? Dude has won…

Maybe Meyer?? Dude has won three national championships and is one of two coaches (also Saban) to win national championships at two different schools -- and you think he may be a better coach than JH? I love me some JH and can see the argument for him as #2 on this list taking into account entire career achievements (including NFL), but STOP IT

05/30/2018 - 11:34am "Dear softball player - you

"Dear softball player - you will have an opportunity to compete in the sport you love while earning a market-wage and free world-class education. You most likely will not be getting paid the same amount as some of the other athletes in more high-profile sports - these rates are primarily driven by the market for each sport."

That's how you do it

05/25/2018 - 11:42am When you say "many

When you say "many billionaires have come from that faction"... please elaborate

Facts and figures are much appreciated. Points will be deductted if Counter-Strike is cited as a primary source

04/10/2018 - 7:38pm Never understood why teams

Never understood why teams don't rotate OL more frequently. I wouldn't mind seeing the mashers (i.e., JBB, Onwenu) get the lion's share of the work and then change it up with pass pro specialists (i.e., Spanellis, Runyan) on clear passing downs. This assumes, that the pass pro from the mashers is not so terrible that we cannot run simple pass plays / play-action on 1st and 2nd downs.

Yes, love the series. Debates are blanced and moderator (Donvan) does a fantastic job

03/27/2018 - 5:45pm Your points just weaken your

Your points just weaken your argument. The NCAA does not adequately provide a fair, equitable, sportsmanlinke.. pick your ajdective... environment CURRENTLY. So why should we stick with a system that does not "make sure programs do not cheat to get players to attend their school"?  The olympic model or even a completely free market would do a much better job of curbing cheating and have the side benefit of actually doing the right thing for the kids generating the revenue.

I would get it

03/27/2018 - 4:49pm Fair and safe competition

Fair and safe competition does not equal competitive balance

03/27/2018 - 4:33pm Double Post

03/27/2018 - 4:32pm Yes and let's take it a step

Yes and let's take it a step further and apply it to another group of whiners. I mean immigrant day-laborers have been living high on the hog for too long now. I mean, if it weren't for their heroic temporary employers they would have no work at all. And just think, at home they might make $20 a week and we are willing to pay them $5 per hour -- I mean you do the math.

Everything (including oppression) is relative.

03/27/2018 - 4:28pm So the NCAA should focus on

So the NCAA should focus on propping up athletic programs for schools that could not compete if handcuffs were not placed on the most capable and/or resourceful of its member institutions?

Also, where in the NCAA  mission statement does it mention competitive balance?

We all know the NCAA always has been about and forever will be about looking out for the interests of student athletes. Lulz

03/27/2018 - 4:18pm All-American teams should

All-American teams should reward the season / performance and stay away from draft prospecting or talent evaluation. DJ Wilson was not named to any All-American teams last year and that was A-OK with me

03/27/2018 - 4:13pm If only there were some

If only there were some platform that athletes could use to supplement a protest so it was not purely contrrolled by "whatever the TV announcers say about it"...

03/27/2018 - 4:06pm Not surprising -- only a few

Not surprising -- only a few players from the BIG on the top 3 teams and there was not even a Wolverine on the all BIG First team

03/27/2018 - 4:02pm So what you're saying is that

So what you're saying is that the free market works in almost every other aspect of our society, but could not work here?

You're making a big assumption that all players need to be paid the same

03/27/2018 - 3:59pm Uh...what?

Who's giving up what to do what now? Are we talking about time travel?

03/04/2018 - 9:06pm I watched this so many times

I watched this so many times to see if I could spot which player on the bench reacted first... apparently Belien teams even react together. (Although Poole wins the award for most fist pumps)

02/28/2018 - 8:14am Yes and I agree more.

Yes and I agree more. Professional athletes get paid to play a game for a living!! Can you believe that? There are many of us who "would walk over broken glass" for that opportunity and would be willing to do that job for free or minimum wage. Therefore, the NBA, NFL and other leagues should stop paying their players. QED

02/13/2018 - 8:51pm You are a jackass. Karan

You are a jackass. Karan Higdon just ran for 994 yards - is the extra 6 yards what makes the difference? If you think the lack of running game is what was wrong with last year's team then you clearly weren't paying attention.

02/05/2018 - 11:18am Zack Gentry can more than

Zack Gentry can more than capably play the Trey Burton role

01/29/2018 - 5:28pm Yes, I would say that

Yes, I would say that statement is accurate. Quite different from when I was growing up, but I'd say that's where we currently are

01/29/2018 - 3:23pm Perhaps, but if we assume

Perhaps, but if we assume most of the kids we are recruiting are ~16-17 years old, then I would argue the last 3-5 years would matter significantly more than seasons that happened when they were 7-8 years old.

I think we can agree that more winning = better recruting.

01/29/2018 - 2:27pm Come on man -- this type of

Come on man -- this type of framing may work elsewhere, but not here

Michigan has three ten win seasons in the last ten years.

Or you could say Michigan has two ten win seasons in the last three years...but I guess that doesn't support your story quite as nicely.

No thank you -- we are finally emerging from the wilderness and MSU is about to be restored to its proper place in both sports. There's only one party responsible for MSU's blatant disregard for the safety of student athletes (excl. Simon, BoTs, AD, etc.) -- NICK SABAN

Make him pay!
