Harbaugh calling out officiating
Harbaugh: "They got a gift interference call."
Harbaugh: 'Our guys did everything they possibly could. Bitterly disappointed with the officiating.'

The refs from that Michigan game need to be fired. They were just worried about making it up out of Columbus if it was over turned

shoot , even My Mgowife who hates football saw the replay and SHE gets it. Not deneying that M made costly mistakes, but I don't see how any sane person can sit there and say that the officiating was unbiased and that did not have a direct effect on the game's outcome.
The fact that the explantion for the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty was that it would be a technical foul in basketball, given by the ohio HS ref who normally officiates basketball games, tells you everything you need to know. How in the actual fuck does an ohio HS ref get to officiate in a game like this?! seriously
November 26th, 2016 at 7:19 PM ^
Ty Issacs (got benched rest of game, I think), Mason Cole and Deveon Smith (who otherwise had a good game) made life very difficult for him at different moments. That interception was a singularly athletic play by the DB. Speight played well enough to win this one.
November 26th, 2016 at 4:53 PM ^
worst officiating I've seen in a Michigan-OSU game.
No doubt refs will love him less for this, but frankness is only fair after that travesty.
November 26th, 2016 at 6:28 PM ^
two penalties for six yards. SIX GODDAMN YARDS??
Meanwhile our coach gets an unsportsmanlike conduct for something that's not even in the rulebook. . .

No one can down vote that Buckeye.(look at his comments he had the OSU cock in his mouth all afternoon) How does anyone talk smack about Harbaugh with a 20-4 Win loss record and think they are making sense. For some strange reason you can down vote anyone in this Blog besides this guy. But some how it will allow you to upvote......Talk about rigged....
Whatever Harbaugh says or does is wrong should be his name

All rational coaches and players agree you must do all in your power to take it out if the refs hands
I mean....kind of. This analogy works better in basketball, but if you score 51% of the points and the other team scores 49%, you should win. Shitty, slanted refereeing is like saying one team needs to score 55% - if they score 54%, that's not enough. It ought to be enough. It's certainly a good idea to just blow the other team out if you can, but you should only just have to play better than the other team. You shouldn't have to play better and then some while the other team can play worse and still win.
The refs were a clear fuckjob today, from the first blatant PI they missed in the first quarter all the way to overtime.
November 26th, 2016 at 6:44 PM ^
Its like the Electoral College! They both favor Ohio.

Calls go both ways. Harbaugh gave them the game.
November 26th, 2016 at 8:21 PM ^
Not today, they didn't, asshat. What the fuck did you watch?
November 27th, 2016 at 12:50 AM ^
Harbaugh's tirade cost us 15 yards. Harbaugh's NFL staff couldn't handle freshman and sophomores with juniors and seniors. Harbaugh coached not to lose while Meyer coached to win.
I'm just so tired of this team treating this game like it's any other game. We will never beat the Buckeyes, I guess I just have to accept that at this point.

What are you talking about? Clearly you didn't watch the first 3 quarters when OSU did nothing on offense. Get off this message board, troll. No one feels sorry for you, if you think we can't beat them then stop following the team.
We had them right where we wanted them but shot ourselves in the foot. Officiating was clearly biased

never thought , I would encounter somone who would Jim Harbaugh for granted as a football coach but, hey, there your are!
November 26th, 2016 at 4:37 PM ^
He's not wrong about the fkn travesty but unless this gets the refs to actually review their fuckery and ref better down the line, I dunno how this helps us in the future.
November 26th, 2016 at 5:32 PM ^
Put aside the functional value of doing this or that. Harbaugh is getting the backs of seniors, who did not play perfectly but played well enough not to have the refs do such a shitty job and impact the key moments of this game.

of the game. It makes him sound like a whiner and making excuses for the loss.
it is a shame either team lost. It is possible the the committe will keep Michigan in for the playoff provided Washington loses next week.
November 26th, 2016 at 5:45 PM ^
You are right. It was the refs absolutely horrendous officiating that changed the outcome of the game. No call on pass interference on Michigan's last possession.. The reason? The refs weren't in position to see it.. I mean what in the actual fuck? A majority of their job is to be in position to see illegal actions on the field.
Secondly an absolute gift of an extra half yard on that 4th down spot, and then even with being right on the first down marker no measurment. That moment in that big of a game with so much at stake on both sides of the ball is not the moment to eyeball a first down call.
This wasn't Michigan failing to convert a 2 point conversion, or missing a gaming winning/tying field goal. This was an early Christmas present for Urban Meyer from the game officials.

The line to gain was the 15 yard line. It was the first set of downs in overtime. Why would it be measured?

It wasn't that we not only stopped Barrett, it was that they made their ruling so quickly. You wonder if an OSU guy was in the truck with the video.

My brother , also a UM grad , works in Canton. He tells me the replay ref dates a fellow employee and is a BIG OSU fan. I have no reason to doubt this. They should Spartan Bob this and change to neutral people

Why do you think calling out the refs will help us in the future? I don't really care about Harbaugh complaining about the refs, but I don't applaud him for it either. As if this is the first poorly officiated football game ever.
November 27th, 2016 at 1:37 AM ^
It's just the one's that have the highest stakes that get officiated lousy. They generally favor one team over the other.

The NFL is losing viewership big time, and part of it is lousy reffing. You don't invest the time, emotion and money some of us do in being fans and then watch your team lose from incompetent referreeing. College football is under attack and at some point, with games that go on interminably from ads and lousy reffing you start asking yourself about the value of the investment in your team.
I'm upset, and don't see myself doing something else on Saturdays in the fall, but I once thought that about Sunday afternoons.

It was WAYYYYY too one sided. How can Harbaugh look like he's making excuses, when from the ref calling you'd think that the Buckeyes just played as pure as the driven snow? Then the pansy asses throw a flag on Harbaugh? Please.
No, it has to be called out, and in theory anyway, there's supposed to be some internal review where if the refs screw up this bad, they should not be allowed to call important games. Don't know how it works in practice, though. The process has to be more transparent.
Hoke refrained from calling out refs, they screwed us anyway.

More penalty yardage than the entirety of the OSU team today...On a basketball violation...Yah, complaining is the problem.

November 26th, 2016 at 4:49 PM ^
No it doesnt. Someone has to hold them accountable. That falls on the coaches. Having a system in which a major element, here the refs, has this god-like untouchable, unspeakable status is really, really weird. Not only should harbaugh stick up for his players, like he is doing, but the refs need some acountability. Only then might they improve.

Take a look on Reddit, Twitter, Facebook. I watched this game with unbiased Oklahoma fans. The entire world knows that Michigan was screwed out of this game. If the entire world knows it, Harbs should call out the officiating.
