We are playing with House money here.

We wanted to be playing for championships in November . . . and we are.  We've hit a speed bump with the Speight thing right now, but there is nothing that says this won't be an annual occurrence every year now.

All we can do is ask to have a shot.  And we do.  After that, anything can happen once you kick off.

 

Defense wins championships and I think we have the best one on the field tomorrow.  Peppers will keep JT contained and I think we'll have more success through the air than people expect.

Michigan is down 21-12 in the fourth after Speight gets knocked out early and the the team being led by O'Korn for roughly three quarters. Four field goals are all they can muster.

THEN Speight pulls a Willis Reed and wills his way back into the game and throws a bomb to Darboh for a touchdown to make it 21-19. Ohio State tries to eat clock and punt, but makes the crucial mistake of leaving the ball in play for Peppers, who takes it back nearly for a score. With time winding down, they put the game in Kenny Allen's hands, or foot, and the ball sails through the uprights with 0:00 on the clock. 22-21 Michigan. Kenny Allen is team MVP with five, count it, five field goals.

Defense frustrates Barret, Peppers runs a kick back and Wilton pulls a Willis Reed but can't finish, O'Korn gets hurt and the greatest "those who stay..." story ends up being Shane Morris leading UofM to the game winning TD!

OK probably not but i see a 27-24 victory. GoBlue!

I don't see where our points are gonna come from. They're gonna eventually wear our defense down. They'll play close to a perfect game against us, as they always do. I see osu pulling away mid second half.

It's gonna take a masterful game plan to pull this off and some fortunate bounces to go our way. I hope I'm wrong. Please let me be wrong.

All I know in this game is that I know nothing. Usually whatever I think will happen, the opposite tends to happen. I thought last year would be close, and OSU blew our doors off. I thought OSU would beat the living daylights out of us in 2013 and Urban would run the score up. We came within inches of beating them. 

I don't know what the hell is going to happen tomorrow, and I don't like making predictions. But how my dream scenario would play out (other than a 59-0 romping on their own turf, of course):

A tightly contested back and forth game where both teams are at each other's throats. Both teams are trading haymakers and going into the fourth, even the most homer-rific of OSU fans will say that its anyone's game. We punt the ball to OSU with six minutes to go in the fourth, tied 31-31. The doubt is seeping in that OSU will milk the clock for a game winning TD or FG as they get decent field position. OSU is driving down the field, butrather than try to burn some clock, they're going for the jugular. With two mins to go, Barrett gets overconfident after testing Lewis quite a bit that day, and tries throwing it up for grabs to Noah Brown. Out of nowhere, in Woodson-esque fashion, Peppers snags his first INT of the year on the Michigan 15 yard line. Just keeps his feet in bounds. 

Peppers heads over to the sideline and then channels his inner Harbaugh. He gathers the whole offense together before they hit the field, telling them they own this moment and we need to go out and finally take these guys down. They have a chance to finally give OSU a taste of its own medicine. Speight proceeds to engineer a B-E-A-utiful two minute drive, converting several critical third downs when the stadium is turning into an absolute bedlam of noise. 

Speight picks up one more critical third down off of a 3rd and 13 to put us in FG range. Harbaugh runs the clock all the way down to one second, and he trots Allen out there to kick a game-winning 45 yard field goal. The Shoe is deafeningly loud, but then 10 seconds later, all you hear are the exuberant screams and cheers of a Michigan team that just knocked off the #2 team in the land. Allen nails a beauty right down the middle, with 5 yards of leg to spare. A slew of seniors who've been through the ringer and who've never known what it means to beat OSU finally know what it feels like. 

OSU fans can’t believe what they’ve just witnessed; many of whom came in so confident that this game would be over by halftime. The same fans who say Michigan is their annual tune-up for their national title run. Many of their fans still remain in their seats 40 minutes after the game because they don’t know what else to do or where else to go. This is pain they have not felt in 15 years. They’re simply paralyzed. Many are crying. Many are angry. Most are just sitting there, emotionless, coming to the realization that "this is what it must've felt like for them."

The team gets back to Ann Arbor to a horde of zealous fans. The team may not have exorcised a full 15 year’s worth of demons, and OSU under Meyer is not going anywhere, but this is a great start. It’s also a grim reminder to OSU fans that the days of Michigan being their doormat are over. Harbaugh takes the victory in, but at 4am the next morning, he’s already wide awake at Schembechler Hall, getting ready for Wisconsin. The team follows soon there after, more focused than ever. 

Yes, you can all tell I’ve thought about this for a while. This game could just as easily go the other way, but I’ll think about things that make me happy. And Michigan winning makes me happy.

My overall mood is pessimistic about this game BUT there is a part of me that can see this at one of Harbaugh magical moments on the road underdog with EVERYTHING on the line and he comes out and just Blows em away....

If this game were in AA I think we win...can we FINALLY get over the hump?

42-13 Michigan.  Peppers decides to actually read the player he's optioning instead of just running everytime and the zone read decimates their team.  Isaac and Peppers combine for 300 yards.

20-17 - Go Blue

Do you all think we see something new on O with Peppers? I feel like to a must since WS very likely gets knocked out of this game at some point. Pepper plays have been very predictable as of late. Thoughts on what we might see? I liked the Peppers hand off then reverse to McDoom or Chesson. Think we will need 3-4 BIG RPS wins on O to flip the field and give us scoring chances.

I am so grateful this game is early tomorrow, because I am a wreck already.  My mother is visiting and is wondering what my problem is; the wife and kids are laughing at me...Going to be a long 23 hours...

it will happen like this: D locks down barrett and co. peppers plays a lights out game, contain all day on barrett. Deveon has another breakout game, >= 100 yards on the ground, O line mans the fuck up.

OSU is exposed for their weaknesses and flaws after finally playing against a real defense and DeVeon Smith has his best game as a wolverine, much like Touchdown Tim B. did back in the day.

It will be a GLORIOUS Meeechigan victory and Bo and Bob Ufer will be watching from football's Valhalla with smiles on their faces because "they do wrap fish in yesterday's newspapers . . .  The players have 60 minutes of football and a lifetime to remember."
