I follow a subpar Mississippi State team. This means I felt compelled to watch this beatdown game.  Bama has run up the score today, but I see some flaws.

Mississippi State's O Line has gotten better push today than against LSU or Auburn. I think Michigan will be able to run right at them for 4 or 5 yards per carry. Bama's LB's and safeties are fast. Running plays to the edge have all resulted in tackles for loss. Bama's pass rush is on par with Michigan's but their corners are not very good in coverage. If Speight has any time, there will be open receivers down field all day.

Jalen Hurts is an inaccurate passer. Most of his passing yards have come on short throws that were broken for big gains. He is a good runner and he is the entire offense today. Entering the fourth quarter, Hurts has run or thrown 48 times. They have 11 running back rushes. It is hard to evaluate their running game based on today's effort. It should be possible to stack the box and force Hurts to throw, but Michigan will have to tackle well or Bama's speedy skill players will break off huge chunks or yards.

Do you think Michigans players are currently watching this game right now? I'm just curious if that's what they do (along with other prep activities) during the afternoon before a night game.

IU playing really good so far against PSU. Is PSU overrated yes should be ranked 15-20 but IU is still a good team.

This is exactly what I was trying to explain to Wolverine HIstorian earlier...no big time matchups, but sooo many "decent" vs. ranked matchups that there are going to be some good games late.

No real need to watch first halfs because you don't know which games it'll be, but the odds are that you'll get 1-2 games in each time block that are going to have a great finish.

On the flip side, you're probably going to get some of these ranked vs. "decent" games that turn into a crazy blowout. So you can get those out of the way after halftime and focus on the closer games.

Solid slate of football, IMO.

I don't know, man. This is one of those weekends where I have a hard time even watching a game (except UM). There are literally no intriguing matchups in the top-25, and those matchups that seem mildly entertaining match two bad teams against each other. But - admittedly- this is coming from an NFL > College guy. So that's it for what it's worth...

Absolutely. No question about it.

There's also a shot they could get destroyed.

That's what I was explaining above...we're going to see how good these ranked teams really are this week. We all knew PSU was fake and they're being exposed right now win or lose.

WVU is the same.

Personally, I think Wisconsin's defense is 100% legit so I expect a 17-3, 17-7 type of win for the Badgers.

Both of these secondaries are bad. So Speight should have a big day next week. But Indiana does like taking shots down field, should be a good test for our secondary before OSU.

Well, you knew that was coming.  The key is that IU - like us against IU last year - has enough time on the clock to drive down the field and inflict the last bit of CHAOS in regulation time.

Indiana's defense is better this year, but I have a hard time seeing them stop us over a whole game.  Barkley is starting to find success, so maybe they're starting to wear down.  If Barkley on his own can do that, imagine what our fresh 4 headed attack can do throughout the game.
