MGoPoll: Who Should Be #4 in the College Football Playoff?

Submitted by Mr. Yost on

It'll be a topic of discussion in all college football coverage before Tuesday...who should be #4 this week?

Really it's got to be between OSU and Washington, but I added Clemson, Louisville and Michigan just to have more options.

This is just me, of course, but I have to think that Washington's argument for being that #4 on Tuesday is now a pretty decent one - I think perhaps their OOC schedule is the only thing that you can point to now as keeping them away from it. Even at that, I would still be a little perplexed if they didn't make it into the Top 4 this time, but at the same time, if I saw, for example, OSU in that #4 after obliterating the prohibitive favorite in the Big Ten West (until last night), that might not totally shock me either.

I think there's a clear top 6 and then everyone else: Bama, Michigan, Washington, Louisville, Clemson, and Ohio State. I think the best four teams are actually Bama, Michigan, OSU (after last night) and Louisville

Washington.

Have to credit them for being undefeated and taking care of business thus far. OSU looking good last night against a vastly overrated Nebraska team doesn't undo them losing to Penn State and looking like crap for the whole month of October.

It actually does undo it.

I'm no OSU slappy, but last night was a good night for them.  They crushed CFP #10 Nebraska, and their loss to an ascending PSU at night in a Happy Valley White Out is starting to look not so bad.

You could make a pretty solid case for them to be #4.

1 - Bama

2 - Michigan

3 - Clemson

4 - Washington

5 - Ohio State

6 - Louisville

7 - Wisky

8 - Auburn

I think Washington has a great chance to lose to USC or Washington State before the Pac-12 title game

then Prostitute State...er, I mean Louisville, and a close 5 is OSU. Probably actually better than Louisville. We are going to need to play perfect to beat our hated rival.

Clemson is obviously in right now, along with Michigan and Alabama. Debate is Washington vs. a bunch of 1 loss teams.

Washington goes down last game of the season vs. WSU

Doesn't really matter since Ohio plays Michigan still, but for now I would say Ohio. In fact, I thought so before their drubbing of Nebraska. Washington still needs more games against quality teams

I see the debate seems to be between Washington and some one loss teams .

I say until Washington has one loss its

Bama

Mich

Clemson and

Washington .

Dont let a team that has already lost sneak in because the loss was early in the season .

Washington has played nobody but Utah and Colorado, but they've devastated most weeks.

That is a very dangerous offense and an abolutely not terrifying defense.

They are essentially the equivalent of OSU with a significantly worse strength of schedule but no losses. If Washington loses once, there is no chance for them to get back in. They will have defeated nobody but Colorado and Utah. No more "big wins" possible for them.
