I can't even see Wiscy putting up more than 7 against OSU's defense. Wiscy is as one dimensional as it gets when it comes to offense. At least Kevin Wilson and IU put up points on offense and now is fielding a defense to boot.
When was the last time the Badgers had a QB who could throw beyond 10 yards other than a Russell Wilson rental?

I watched both Wisconsin games. Their QB looked the same to me. The difference was MSU's defensive backs couldn't stay with the Wisconsin WRs. Our DBs coverage was much better and that led to the 3 INTs. I think OSU's DBs are closer to UofM's than they are to MSU's. That could lead to a couple picks. But the game is in Madison, so that could be enough to make it a close game, and if it gets to the 4th quarter close, anything could happen.

I agree that the UM game is a good barometer on paper. If talent and speed and coaching decide this game it'll be what you say. At some point, youth and inexperience will be a problem for the Buckeyes. This will be the first time they're really gonna be punched in the face. OK was never able to create much adversity. WI will need a couple breaks and/or youthful mistakes. If that happens I'll be interested to see the bucknuts react. Norman was impressive, but the rest of the schedule has been really weak. The next month will be a test.

I've got OSU big. Sad to say.

That sounds like something you should talk to your doctor about.

I'm hoping for a Bama and OSU loss to put us at 2.

Too lazy to look up their opponent, but even losing to "BYE" is as likely as both Bama and the Bucknuts losing their games.

NC State, I believe.

Kind of, sure, but in the grand scheme of things, they don't right now. If Michigan is 12-0 and wins the conference, they're in the playoff. No one in their right mind would vote them to not be in it.

I imagine the Buckeyes will win a close one and look mortal again.
Back to back night road games in Camp Randall and Beaver Stadium is probably about as brutal as a possible Big Ten road schedule gets. Hopefully the Buckeyes slip up in one of them.

Well, duh.
That's not the point.
A White Out night game is one of, if not the, hardest environment to play at in the conference. Clearly, PSU is not very good and has been down for a while and a game against Michigan is clearly harder this year regardless of where. However, Urban Meyer's national championship Buckeye team needed Overtime to escape from the Nittany Lions last time in the same place.
The point is, those are the types of environments that maximize away team disadvantage, and to play at two back to back is not favorable scheduling, even though clearly the caliber of the team is still more important than the locale.

place to play. Too bad the team isn't a tough team to play.

This feels like one of those games where OSU loafs around for a quarter, quarter and a half, and then ends up winning like 42-14. As good as Wisconsin's defense is, OSU is going to thrash.

JT Barrett has only shown on a couple rare occassions, unfortunately one of them being in A2 last year, that he can make you pay through the air. He was flat out bad through the air last week. Unless Wisconsin's DL gets dominated, I think they can at least slow the run enough to force some passing downs where they should then be in good shape.
The problem is, OSU has a very good defense too, so even if Wisconsin's D holds up admirably, they still lose unless the gods are kind.

Wisconsin actually has a good defense. All the teams they've played up until Indiana have had horrid defenses and Urban always runs the score up in those games. I don't expect Hornibrook to do anything but if Indiana can play with them, Wisconsin certainly can.
October 14th, 2016 at 1:10 AM ^
seemed like one of those ho hum, we're-looking-to-next-week-and-bored-with-the-competition games. Barrett played about as badly as he could last week and they still scored 38. They seem to elevate things for big games (all except for that MSU game last year). I think a 31-10 score sounds about right.

21 of OSU's 38 points came on a short field.
1. With the game tied 3-3, an Indiana fumble on its own 9 yard line gave OSU great field position in the redzone. OSU scored to go up 10-3.
2. After Indiana scored a TD to cut OSU's lead to 17-10 with a minute remaining in the first half, OSU's Parris Campbell returned the kick off 91 yards to the Indiana 6. OSU scored against to push the lead back to 14 (24-10).
3. Trailing 31-17 in the 4th quarter with about 6 minutes left to play, Indiana was forced to go for it on 4th down and failed. OSU got the ball back on Indiana's 33. OSU converted this opportunity into another TD to win 38-17.

I always love when people make exact predicitions like this. Guessing the score is one thing, but guessing the manner of the scores, who scores them, and when they happen, is just lol.
Regardless, OSU will probably win something like 24-10.

28-14 Buckeyes. Wisconsin will hang around, but OSU will get a deep TD and few other big plays on offense or special teams to account for the difference.
