Badgers VS Buckeyes. Who Ya Got?
October 14th, 2016 at 12:22 AM ^
28-7 unfortunately Buckeyes will get a defensive touchdown and a couple big plays from Samuel and that will be the difference. Our game could have easily been 23-7 so it's not too far off from that.

I can't even see Wiscy putting up more than 7 against OSU's defense. Wiscy is as one dimensional as it gets when it comes to offense. At least Kevin Wilson and IU put up points on offense and now is fielding a defense to boot.
When was the last time the Badgers had a QB who could throw beyond 10 yards other than a Russell Wilson rental?
October 14th, 2016 at 7:43 AM ^
Hey, we rented Rudock so I don't think it's fair to say they can't claim Wilson

I think Wisconsin will be able to stop the run. Afterall, Indiana did for the most part. Osu offense had 2 drives start inside the ten verse them making it look like they could not handle osu "high powered offens. I think Wisconsin can duplicate that.
It could get ugly if the freshman turns it over alot, but I just don't see osu creating nearly as much presser as Michigan. In the games I have watched of them this year that is just not their defensive strong suit. With that being said, i think the Wisc qb will do much better in this game than verse michigan. I expect him to look closer to his msu game than his Michigan game.
I'm taking Wisconsin and the points and the under.
October 14th, 2016 at 10:37 AM ^
I have Wiscy in this one. Maybe with a sprinkle of bias.
Bucks have a young team and this is a night game in Madison. It's going to be an eye opener for some of them. Wisconsin has a great defense and they will force JT to pass. Wisconsin also has a great O-line. I don't think the Bucks are going to shut them down the way we did. Our D puts more pressure on a QB.
Badgers are the best in the West and this is almost a must win game for them. Badgers by 3.
October 14th, 2016 at 11:35 AM ^
I watched both Wisconsin games. Their QB looked the same to me. The difference was MSU's defensive backs couldn't stay with the Wisconsin WRs. Our DBs coverage was much better and that led to the 3 INTs. I think OSU's DBs are closer to UofM's than they are to MSU's. That could lead to a couple picks. But the game is in Madison, so that could be enough to make it a close game, and if it gets to the 4th quarter close, anything could happen.

and the games between them teams there has been close.Hornibrook had a poor day in Ann Arbor, I think he'll do better there. They had silly things happen to them when they ayed us: Dropped passes, bad snaps. They should have scored more then 7 points. Their defense is good; I'm picking Wisconsin 31-27. ON WISCONSIN!!!

I agree that the UM game is a good barometer on paper. If talent and speed and coaching decide this game it'll be what you say. At some point, youth and inexperience will be a problem for the Buckeyes. This will be the first time they're really gonna be punched in the face. OK was never able to create much adversity. WI will need a couple breaks and/or youthful mistakes. If that happens I'll be interested to see the bucknuts react. Norman was impressive, but the rest of the schedule has been really weak. The next month will be a test.

I've got OSU big. Sad to say.

I'm hoping for a Bama and OSU loss to put us at 2.
October 14th, 2016 at 6:45 AM ^
Too lazy to look up their opponent, but even losing to "BYE" is as likely as both Bama and the Bucknuts losing their games.
October 14th, 2016 at 9:36 AM ^
NC State, I believe.
October 14th, 2016 at 12:10 PM ^
NC State may even have the best chance of upsetting between the three.

I mean, they kinda matter...
October 14th, 2016 at 10:18 AM ^
Kind of, sure, but in the grand scheme of things, they don't right now. If Michigan is 12-0 and wins the conference, they're in the playoff. No one in their right mind would vote them to not be in it.
October 14th, 2016 at 12:16 PM ^
True, but Michigan would be ranked 1, 2, or 3 if that occurs. And our current ranking is fairly indicative of our performance thus far.
Sports are all about measuring sticks, kept track by numbers.

IF(Big if) Wisconsin beats OSU, one could argue that UM has the best win in the country thus far in the season so why not number 1?
October 14th, 2016 at 12:25 AM ^
I imagine the Buckeyes will win a close one and look mortal again.
Back to back night road games in Camp Randall and Beaver Stadium is probably about as brutal as a possible Big Ten road schedule gets. Hopefully the Buckeyes slip up in one of them.
October 14th, 2016 at 12:42 AM ^
I would much rather play penn state at any time of day than Michigan at any time this year.

Well, duh.
That's not the point.
A White Out night game is one of, if not the, hardest environment to play at in the conference. Clearly, PSU is not very good and has been down for a while and a game against Michigan is clearly harder this year regardless of where. However, Urban Meyer's national championship Buckeye team needed Overtime to escape from the Nittany Lions last time in the same place.
The point is, those are the types of environments that maximize away team disadvantage, and to play at two back to back is not favorable scheduling, even though clearly the caliber of the team is still more important than the locale.
October 14th, 2016 at 1:06 AM ^
place to play. Too bad the team isn't a tough team to play.
October 14th, 2016 at 10:23 AM ^
I don't get the talk about them looking like an all time elite team. It must be the final scores without looking at the context. They have kept the starters in to close to the fourth quarter while still throwing in all their blowouts.
I don't blame urban for doing this after how the sleepwalking through the schedule last year, but it us not like they dominated as the scores show. I mean, they scored 6 verse Rutgers in the first quarter and kept barret in until 3 min to go in the 3rd, and he was still throwing passes. Their last drive was all runs and ate about 10 min of clock but before that they were running their full offense with starters for most the 3rd. If Michigan did that they prob get close to the 100 mark.
The most shocking thing was Indiana played toe to toe with them, which you don't get by the 3 td win. But the Hoosiers ran the ball very effectively, which opened up some well timed deep balls. They were even driving to bring it to 7 in the fouth but got a turn over and osu scored to make it look better for them than it was. Additionally, they started 2 drives inside the Hoosiers ten..
Long story short, they are very beatable and have struggled through the year but mask that by pouring it on in the second half. But I don't think they will be able to do that verse better defenses.
October 14th, 2016 at 12:33 AM ^
This feels like one of those games where OSU loafs around for a quarter, quarter and a half, and then ends up winning like 42-14. As good as Wisconsin's defense is, OSU is going to thrash.
October 14th, 2016 at 12:39 AM ^
This is a big time Big Ten defense, not Oklahoma and its at The Camp. Can't see Ohio rolling up big numbers on this D unless Hornibrook commits a bunch of turnovers
October 14th, 2016 at 10:29 AM ^
They have yet to play a good defense yet and have struggled at several points throughout the year. No way, they score 42 without a bunch of no offensive tds or drives starting in the red zone like last week.
I just think the power spread, with a qb who is inaccurate when pressured, plays right into the hands of an opportunistic Wisc defense.
October 14th, 2016 at 10:44 AM ^
JT Barrett has only shown on a couple rare occassions, unfortunately one of them being in A2 last year, that he can make you pay through the air. He was flat out bad through the air last week. Unless Wisconsin's DL gets dominated, I think they can at least slow the run enough to force some passing downs where they should then be in good shape.
The problem is, OSU has a very good defense too, so even if Wisconsin's D holds up admirably, they still lose unless the gods are kind.
October 14th, 2016 at 12:41 AM ^
Wisconsin actually has a good defense. All the teams they've played up until Indiana have had horrid defenses and Urban always runs the score up in those games. I don't expect Hornibrook to do anything but if Indiana can play with them, Wisconsin certainly can.
October 14th, 2016 at 1:10 AM ^
seemed like one of those ho hum, we're-looking-to-next-week-and-bored-with-the-competition games. Barrett played about as badly as he could last week and they still scored 38. They seem to elevate things for big games (all except for that MSU game last year). I think a 31-10 score sounds about right.
October 14th, 2016 at 2:44 AM ^
21 of OSU's 38 points came on a short field.
1. With the game tied 3-3, an Indiana fumble on its own 9 yard line gave OSU great field position in the redzone. OSU scored to go up 10-3.
2. After Indiana scored a TD to cut OSU's lead to 17-10 with a minute remaining in the first half, OSU's Parris Campbell returned the kick off 91 yards to the Indiana 6. OSU scored against to push the lead back to 14 (24-10).
3. Trailing 31-17 in the 4th quarter with about 6 minutes left to play, Indiana was forced to go for it on 4th down and failed. OSU got the ball back on Indiana's 33. OSU converted this opportunity into another TD to win 38-17.
October 14th, 2016 at 7:45 AM ^
An Indiana "fumble" you mean
October 14th, 2016 at 12:35 PM ^
The rest were ranked 45, 68, 79 and 102. Michigans is ranked 35. Tge only thing that, will keep it close is possible bad weather and home field. Wisconsin hasnt even run the ball well this year. Plus their best LB and kicker is out. The again turnovers could change things for both teams.I have to keep reminding myself this team is still very young. Our RT is a RSFR and the LG is a true freshman. Speight didnt have a good game. If not for that you guys should have scored at least 2 more tds if he played just average.
October 14th, 2016 at 12:52 AM ^
Think IU has a better defense than wisky or is it just a match up thing?
October 14th, 2016 at 12:36 AM ^
OSU and the points.
October 14th, 2016 at 12:38 AM ^
I always love when people make exact predicitions like this. Guessing the score is one thing, but guessing the manner of the scores, who scores them, and when they happen, is just lol.
Regardless, OSU will probably win something like 24-10.
October 14th, 2016 at 9:14 AM ^
I've always found predicting the play-by-play fairly odd as well.
October 14th, 2016 at 12:38 AM ^
28-14 Buckeyes. Wisconsin will hang around, but OSU will get a deep TD and few other big plays on offense or special teams to account for the difference.
