If You Could Add One Rodriguez/Hoke Player to This Team

Submitted by SF Wolverine on

Who would it be?  Who would most improve this team?  Brandon Graham was great, but we are loaded at that position.  I don't think Denard, b/c not clear how he fits.  I'd go for either Jake Ryan (big upgrade over big question marks) or Taylor Lewan, who is perhaps not as big an upgrade over who will play there, but certainly better and gives O-line better depth.

Discuss.

Devin Gardner. He was in the right place at the wrong time. If Harbaugh got his hands on him and coached him up, he could've been one of the greatest wolverines of all time. Too bad Hoke had to ruin his career.

I realize Michigan has much depth in the secondary but I just loved the smarts of this guy and the way he played. Like having a coach on the field.

For this specific year I would go with Taylor Lewan. For the program as in the next 2-3 years, I would choose Thomas Rawls. It would be great to see what he could do with this coaching staff.

Easily JFMR before the knee injury and with the long hair. Sorry Gedeon but Jake was the man before his knee got dinged up. Image result for Jake Ryan Michigan

Devin gardener and it really isn't close. Imagine what Harbaugh could've done with his talent. It honestly makes me sick that he didn't get that opportunity. You can't honestly tell me he was worse than ruddddddock.... And I loved rudock

Lewan. I'm pretty concerned about Newsome ceding his role to a true freshman right now, no matter the bonafides. I think people are underestimating what unsteady play at that position could cost us because it's been a long time since we've had a real issue at LT. But there is a chance we see Kugler take over center and Cole pop back outside this year. DG is a legit answer too, but without a good LT to protect him, wouldn't make much of a difference.

Love Robinson to death but a change of pace back with dilithium is not what we're lacking. And I think we can all agree he wasn't a pro-style QB.
