Jordan Elliot trending Texas?

Submitted by Bluestreak on

Just saw Ace change his crystal ballz for Jordan Elliot to Texas - is this happening? I know he's visiting but he had been saying he's committed to Michigan. Did something change?

Thanks for the short, informative, and non-snarky post.

The OP is obviously someone not obsessed with recruiting and someone who actually may have a life and other interests such that he/she does not spend an excessive amount of time reading posts on this site and its message boards.

For those who feel the need to spend time and energy making nasty or sarcastic comments, I'll remind you that no one forced you to click on the post to begin with.

I promised myself I was done with this.  I was not going to read any of these recruiting posts.  So I lied to myself.  I guess the first step is admitting you have a problem.  I am going to a meeting.

Although it does seem that Jordan Elliot is joining Chris Clark on Alex Legion's Plan For Success. A plan that disappoints any and all parties involved and sees quality prospects come to nothing. Gunner Kiel is the only high level recruit that I recall having a decent time (just had a good year at Cinci) after flopping so much.

based on his history.   If he stays, great, if not, he seems like the kind of guy who would end up transferring at some point, a la Chris Clark.  Hope he finds the right spot for him, and Texas, or somewhere in Texas, is probably best for him. Not going to cry over this if it happens...not that i ever cry....except when I started watching "Orange is the New Black"... made me tear up a bit.

Good luck Jordan wherever it may be.

I normally don't mind losing someone who changes his mind so much (broke previous commits and "I don't even talk to other coaches"), however, we really need DTs and he had good scouting reports at the all-star practices.

Dude...he is everything like Hoke. Both had successful coaching stints before floundering at a Big Boy program. I like Strong, but the only thing that matters is wins. He doesn't have many of them, and in fact, has some pretty embaressing losses to his credit, not to mention that UT is the fifth best program currently in the state of Texas. That is due to the direction he set. He didn't have to burn the program to the ground to build it back up, but that is what he did, and now it is hard for him to even bring in the recruits necessary to keep up with Houston, much less the schools who are competing for a National championship.

Let's ask Jabrill and Jake and Lewis and Taco and Chris and all these other players you gladly cheer for why they chose to play for a "Hoke". Because clearly they are just as dumb as this guy is for wanting to play for Texas. Can we please stop giving a damn about anybody other than who laces them up for our team on fall Saturdays? I mean, yes, I'm as curious as the next fan(thus my presence here) about who will be on that team but stop any and all name calling or name comparing or anything negative about these guys during their decision making process. We are fans, we are not personally involved. We use this as a distraction from our everyday lives. It in no way helps us in our everyday lives. It doesn't pay our bills or put food on our children's table. It is a momentary distraction. Quit taking everything these kids do as an affront to what you enjoy. You know the other day I went fishing for walleye. And all I caught was perch. So now I'm going on every fishing blog I can find to demean everything and everybody who ever says anything nice about walleye!!! Because that will make me feel better about my hobby of fishing!!! I know I'm probably way off base with this rant, so just ignore me and carry on with your "fun".

Strong =\= Hoke. Sure, Strong may ultimately prove to not be a good fit at UT, but you can't deny Strong's proven track record as a coordinator and his stint at Louisville.

Hoke had nowhere near the track record that Strong has. Even if Strong gets canned next year, he'll land on his feet somewhere else. He just might not be a fit at UT.

Will someone with access to the twitters start a thread with all of the positive reactions from the coaches and recruits from this weekend? I have seen a couple in the "snowed in" and "everyone is a silent commit" threads, but would love to see a pos bang thread chock full of happy tweets.
