Jordan Elliot trending Texas?

Submitted by Bluestreak on

Just saw Ace change his crystal ballz for Jordan Elliot to Texas - is this happening? I know he's visiting but he had been saying he's committed to Michigan. Did something change?

The fifth time might be the charm for Elliott.  Good luck to the kid.

*It would be the fourth or fifth time??  I've lost count of how many schools he's pledged to.

I don't even think a chart is necessary to theorize that someone who can't commit to something and stick with it will have problems with the level of commitment required to excel at an undertaking as difficult as college football, with all the time required to workout, practice, study opponents, study your courses...etc.

The shocking chart would one that demonstrates that a lot of flipping between commitments is actually a determinant of success at such a task!

That's why I posted as soon as this evident next flip became a topic that if it weren't for how Elliott tore it up at AA bowl practices I wouldn't be the least bit sorry to see him go. I unfortunately used some ripe language in there and was deservedly negged for that.

If this flip occurs, this young man will need to shut down his social media and take a break from these types of sites.  He will, unfortunately, be roasted.  Arguably, brought upon himself.

I don't think that word means what you think it means...

"Arguably" implies another point could be validly argued, although it's common usage has come to suggest that you'd be surprised if any opposing view could sway your view.

I don't believe there's another valid interpretation than that if Elliott flips yet again any bashing would be "brought upon himself."

I can't remember if it was Webb or Lorenz who said after Gary he would he the next biggest contributor from the defensive standpoint in this years recruiting class.

I'm going to wait until NSD...the only thing that matters with this kid recruitment. Perhaps, after this vist, the kid will truly have better ideal of where he wants to go...but keeps quiet about his designation until then...

Again, I sorta expected there to be drama with Elliot even when he verbally committed to UM.  This feels like perhaps a situation UM should just stay out of; kids who flip-flop around this much tend to wind up unhappy once they arrive on campus.  Wish him luck, but this is the same basic situation as Clark last year, and he's now at Pitt of all places.

recruits like this wouldn't make the cut. Nothing against the kid, I am sure he's talented. I would just want recruits with a more settled set of priorities. There is more than talent that glues a team together. Of course I'd also pass on Nordin. I hope Harbaugh is doing his homework on these kids. Or maybe he's confident that he can disassemble and rebuild in Michigan's image.

When he did the stupid commit video, someone looked up his stats and there was a bit of talk about how he seemed to be highly overrated. Nails 50 yarders in practice only to go kinda suck in games. No clue if this is true.

At least, this is how my foggy memory recalls it. Also, I think the video made a lot of people not like him no matter his skills

Nothing against the kid, but a school needs some kind of assurance that they can fill their class. With 9 days to go until NSD a school should know whether or not a kid is in their class or not, or if he's going to be a NSD decision. If Elliot is going to decide on NSD then Michigan can fully consider him uncommitted, and move on to their other prospects. I hope that's what they're doing.

It's BS when a kid says he's "committed" but then keeps looking around. If you want to look around, fine, but then be a man about it and de-commit.

recruit you're seeing a lot more these days.  Their commitment really doesn't mean much at all.  They drift from school to school as their interest changes constantly.  Call it indecision or what you want.   Hopefully we can (or already have) locked in someone else like Dwumfour so it becomes a non-issue.  I try not to let situations like this drive me crazy, but I can understand why it bothers others quite a bit.

Trying to pull kids out of Texas is like root canal.

Delance and now seems to be Elliott.

Moms likes their babies close to home where they can see them play and visit them.

Yes something changed Streak - YOU just lost a whole bunch of Mgopoints!

Either join us obsessives and "Follow" Crootin, or just tune back in on NSD (which will be Feb. 3 for those not "following") and see wussup.

By the way, did you hear there's gonna be a cool show on NSD where supposedly a bunch of players are all gonna commit to M en masse?!

Check THAT out!

May I hazard a guess:

"My (Mom, Grandmother, Auntie...) wants me closer to home, where she can visit me and go to my games without flying. Loyalty is to my family, not any of the 4 previous schools to which I  pledged a commitment. Further, I am loyal to my friends and those I'd like to play with - up to a point.

Finally, I follow the words of the Bard: "To thine own self be true..."

This is my opinion of how Elliot and ALL the other pleyers who flip more than 1 time (gotta give a teenager some wiggle room to receive new info and adjust accordingly) would define loyalty if you absolutely made them give an honest defintion.
