Good Vibes On Recruiting for Bush and Walker

Submitted by Moe on

Things are looking very good this morning!

FSU sources that were confident about Devin Bush are no longer confident. Looks like U-M for Bush and Rivals No. 1 RB Kareem Walker.

Highly touted recruit at a position of need, choosing us over his home state Noles?  Hell yes.

Also, the fact that he and Bush are announcing on back to back days could be very beneficial if they both choose us.  Back to back commits from such highly rated players (one of which is the #1 RB in the class) would HAVE to create a bit of buzz amongst other recruits, and could lead to a nice momentum build leading into the dead period.

Webb has been on top of this recruitment for months.

Balas is clueless. The fact he's changing his prediction the morning of because of what FSU sources are saying just proves he doesn't have any real sources. He's clearly not getting the same intel from the UofM side of things that Webb is.

He also called Kareem Walker earlier this week "a strong 50-50." Now I must have missed this part in statistics class but what the fuck is a "strong 50-50"? Is that a better percentage than a normal 50-50?

Sorry for the rant but Rivals recruiting coverage has jumped the shark. 247 and scout are dominating them.

I have not trusted Rivals for a long time. I will say that they seem to have had pretty good sources regarding the coaching situations (Harbaugh, the DC hire, etc.) over the past year, but recruiting info is pretty bad. Brandon Brown and Tim Sullivan seem to disagree on a lot of things, they all waffle back and forth, etc. Josh Helmholdt held that place together when it came to recruiting scoop.

Balas works for Rivals right? He actually is incorrect on Walker's ranking. Per the Rivals 100, Walker is not the #1 RB. That honor now goes to current Clemson commit Tavien Feaster. That is correct no?

With all of these eggs, why not count some chickens, or in other words, how would a few select recruits impact recruiting class rankings?

+ Devin Bush Jr. => UM recruiting class moves from #6 to #5

+ Kareem Walker => UM moves from #5 to #3

with at least 5 remaining spots to fill and mostly 4* (and at least one 5*) prospects still on the board, it's not outside to realm of possibility for UM to finish with a top-rated recruiting class.

We'll have more 4 * recruits than any other school.  We're currently tied with OSU and LSU with 11 each.

We just might end up with the #1 recruiting class this year.  Top 3 for sure.

/Those numbers are from 247.  Rivals appears to be a bit out of date.
