OT: Ruffin McNeill fired by East Carolina
Why is this relevant? Because this is a terrible decision and a case of a school not knowing who they are.
Ruffin McNeil had a 10-3 team just two years ago. One rebuilding 5-7 year at a school that doesn't exactly reload and he's fired.
He went 8-5 last year and beat North Carolina 70-41!!
Idiots. Complete idiots. Would be a great hire if Rutgers got him and could take them from horrific to mediocre.

GET OFF THE STAGE

I assume a DCC: Ruffin McNeill post will follow.
December 4th, 2015 at 12:02 PM ^
DC option? He's been a DC before at Texas Tech, Fresno State and Appalachian State. Has experience with DL and LB.

Some logical possible landing spots for Ruffin McNeill would include at Michigan, at Maryland or anywhere Lincoln Riley were to move.

ECU lost OC, star WR & QB and 4 of this year's 7 losses were by one score. Ruffin McNeill deserved better. Something's up.

Add another to mix. Up to 8 FBS openings: East Carolina, North Texas, Rutgers, South Carolina, Syracuse, Tulane, ULM, Virginia

He is close to Ruffin McNeil and its very doubtful he would go there after what they did to him. Besides that he could get a better job than that.
December 4th, 2015 at 12:05 PM ^
Is if they go out and hire Mike Leach.
December 4th, 2015 at 12:06 PM ^
He would've been a stellar hire for Nebraska.
Hell, a potted plant would've been stellar compared to Mike Riley.
December 4th, 2015 at 12:11 PM ^
I like Mike Riley because he beat Michigan State

His own hoodie pockets, not Mark's. Just to clarify.

Looks like he'll get the S. Carolina HC gig or he'll "settle" as DC with his friend Kirby Smart at UGA.
REPORT: MUSCHAMP EXPECTED TO LEAVE AUBURN
December 4th, 2015 at 12:11 PM ^
Next year UGA could have
HC: Kirby Smart
OC: Lane Kiffin
DC: Will Muschamp
That could be entertaining to watch. Everyone screaming nonstop. #NoChill #WEGOTTAKEEPOURCOMPOSURE
December 4th, 2015 at 12:19 PM ^
Is Kiffin expected to leave with Smart? I can't imagine he leaves Bama for Georgia, especially when he is probably a year away from another P5 gig.
December 4th, 2015 at 2:57 PM ^
Kiffin and Smart are BFFs...haven't you ever seen them on the sidelines?
They're hilarious because Saban is like the old dad who can't STAND IT. Meanwhile they're fist pumping and chest bumping like they're players.
It's rumored that Kiffin could leave...and that it may be Saban's doing anyway.
December 4th, 2015 at 12:22 PM ^
That would be interesting. Coordinators with more head coaching experience than the head coach.
December 4th, 2015 at 2:58 PM ^
Yea...that would be interesting. And if they DID start winning, who gets the credit?
December 4th, 2015 at 12:54 PM ^
you made that hashtag really difficult to figure out mister.

Outrageous. Ridiculous. Absurd. Idiots.
Wait, why should I care about ECU firing their coach?
December 5th, 2015 at 10:07 AM ^
I don't know... maybe because Harbaugh hired him as DC at Stanford, but he opted for the ECU HC job instead? Oh look, we need a DC....

Why would any middling school fire their coach without cause under ANY circumstances in this cycle?
December 4th, 2015 at 12:32 PM ^
this guy was Dino Babers a few yrs ago - he was a hot candidate with an awesome spread offense that teams were interested in... but he stayed at ECU since he was an alum.
What in the fucking fuck are some ADs thinking.

December 4th, 2015 at 1:00 PM ^
No they had a prolific offense as he brought Texas Tech coaches with him to ECU as OCs. I dont mean Dino Babers in terms of being a previous OC, I mean that team scored boatloads of points and was a dangerous team to play in any week and he got some attention from P5s. They were 10-3 in 2013 (beat 2 P5s) and his name was in a lot of coaching searches. Just funny how quickly people's fortunes change now.

Love this joke. I was watching an ECU game with some of my friends kids and they were confused. Apparently they just learned the 50 states in class. haha
