Ian Bunting's now No. 89, was 94

There are more number changes for Michigan: Brian Cole's now No. 41, Henry Poggi's now No. 19

I liked Bunting's unconventional TE number, so I'm sad to see it go. That said, I love Brian Cole's new unconventional WR number. So all told it's a wash in my book.

Bad news for Wilton Speight?

I took it more to mean that Poggi would remain on defence but it would certainly would seem to make sense at this point for Speight to start looking for other opportunities. Let the speculation begin!

For those that can't load the roster, what did his # change to? Does it imply a change to TE (presumably)?
I chalked it up as a slip (even though he mentioned 2-3 walkons)
Jared Wangler is #19 on defense...we currently have #19's...so something is off.

Cole isn't moving to safety, right?
August 6th, 2015 at 11:29 AM ^
That was my first thought. It was mentioned as a possibility in the spring I think.
August 6th, 2015 at 11:44 AM ^
That was my first thought, and I hate what it means.
I hope not. He is not nearly as good at safety as he is at WR/Running the ball.
He is just too good offensively to not play him there.

Cole is obviously harnessing the power of Zoltan, Space Emperor (of Space).

Brian Cole must now have a college career on par with Glen Rice.

We need a 99 QB? Why not!

I mean Michael Irving wore 47 in college at the U, so here is to hoping Brian Cole turns into what Michael Irving was.... on the field that is.
Irving?

number???? I've never seen a WR with #41...let the speculation begin as well with Mr. Speight....
August 6th, 2015 at 11:40 AM ^
John Kolesar wore #40. Not #41, but close.
August 6th, 2015 at 12:27 PM ^
Just about to post the same thing...and Ken Higgins wore #31.
probably had more reps with D. Brown and Michael Taylor, iirc.

#41 is the best number because that was Rob Lytle's number back in the '70s.
August 6th, 2015 at 11:41 AM ^
...John Kolesar is nodding his head in approval.
Why, because 41 is only one away from his number 40? I was number 4 on my work softball team... <I nod my head in approval>

He's wearing 41 in Angelique's media day pictures on twitter

I was wondering if Poggi would change his number since Shane also wore #7. This makes sense more sense. Probably doesn't bode well for Speight though.

glad to see brian cole wearing his number

Harbaugh threw to a childhood favorite of mine that wore #40, not that big of a deal.
John Kolesar

I will never understand the issue many people have with jersey numbers. Why do certain players have to have certain numbers?
