Well...sort of. DeWeaver decommitted after Harbaugh was hired, not when things went south for Hoke.
He was encouraged to look around too, wasn't he?
IIRC, Harbaugh did not contact DeWeaver at all, and Drevno let him know they would be recruiting other QBs in the class.

Right. Harbaugh expressed that he wanted DeWeaver to remain in the class, but he said that Michigan was going to recruit other quarterbacks, too. That's when DeWeaver really decided to open things up.
Don't worry, I'll commit to Michigan on April 4th
- Brandon Peters
No surprise, USC is loaded at QB and we seemed out of the picture with no visit this year. Wish him the best and a friendly reminder to not tweet at recruits.
Good luck to him. Not much of a surprise, at least in terms of Michigan's chances.
Opens more doors. It also can be easier to navigate and manage as an athlete with a declared major based upon what several of my Stanford friends have to say. Perhaps with all of the concussions discussions Costello is focused on a non-football career. Good luck to the young man. Next.
All UR Harbaugh now belong us. We just need to hit games. Because HARBAUGH. Stanford can't do that anymore.
Either that or you're intoxicated already.
Memes. They will lead you to understanding, Lemmiwinks.
how many fucking usernames are you going to create to upvote yourself? So fucking lame.
As the mods can confirm. Sport.
sturdy program.
Its not annoying. Its actually auspicious if you take the longer view.
Good luck, KJ. You'll have an awesome time at Stanford both with academics and football.

It was contrary to interest but funny nevertheless. I laughed.
Good luck to KJ. Hopefully Brandon Peters commits at the spring game.

Good choice, Stanford is a great school, will serve him well later in life

This would have bothered me, some, a year ago. Oddly enough, I don't even have any sweat on my lip when saying "Farewell and good luck". Having seen enough 5 stars do sooooo little, i can't wait to see what Sir James does with ANY QB smart enought to commit to the Mighty UM...it will be QB U in the near future because JH knows what to do with the tools any decent QB brings into camp.
You know there weren't any schenanigans in this choice. Maybe in a few years Michigan will be a better football choice but right now Stanford is a more stable program.
With Harbaugh in charge I think we will get there very quickly, but Stanford is a pretty safe choice for any kid who is committed to academics.
At least he didn't choose USC.
